On the well-posedness for Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-Burgers I equation.

International audienceWe prove local and global well-posedness in $H^{s,0}(\mathbb{R}^{2})$, $s > -\frac{1}{2}$, for the Cauchy problem associated with the Kadomotsev-Petviashvili-Burgers-I equation (KPBI) by working in Bourgain's type spaces. This result is almost sharp if one requires the flow-map to be smooth

On the L2L^{2}-critical nonlinear Schrödinger Equation with a nonlinear damping.

We consider the Cauchy problem for the $L^{2}$-critical nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation with a nonlinear damping. According to the power of the damping term, we prove the global existence or the existence of finite time blowup dynamics with the log-log blow-up speed for $\|\nabla u(t)\|_{L^2}$

دور البرامج الهندسية الحاسوبية في التخطيط الافتراضي للاستبدال الكلي لمفصل الورك

خلفية البحث: تحليل العناصر المنتهية هو تحليل عددي يتم استخدامه بشكل واسع في تحليل الأحمال الهندسية قبل تنفيذها حيث يمكن بناء نموذج هندسي معقّد يحاكي جسماً حقيقياً بخواصه الفيزيائية وبيئته المحيطة وبالتالي يمكن حساب اﻹجهادات والتشوهات.  هدف البحث: مناقشة دور البرامج الهندسية الحاسوبية في التخطيط الافتراضي لتداخلات الجراحة التعويضية بشكل ثلاثي الأبعاد انطلاقاً من الصور الطبية المقطعية، حيث سيتم إظهار دور هذه البرامج في استنتاج النموذج ثلاثي الأبعاد للعظم وكيفية إنتاج نموذج المفصل الصناعي مما يسمح باختبار عملية الاندماج العظمي وتقييم الاستقرار قبل القيام بالعمل الجراحي الفعلي. مواد البحث و طرائقه: تم استخدام  برنامج Mimics للحصول على نموذج حاسوبي ثلاثي الأبعاد مأخوذ من صور مقطعية محوسبة CT لأحد المرضى وتبيان كيفية استخدام البرامج الهندسية الحاسوبية في تصميم المفاصل الصناعية باستخدام برنامج solidworks و دمج نموذجيّ المفصل والعظم باستخدام برنامج Powershape. النتائج: الحصول على نموذج هندسي لعظم الفخذ وتوضُّع المفصل ضمنه وفق الأبعاد التشريحية للمريض. الاستنتاج:  يمكننا من خلال برامج النمذجة و المحاكاة الهندسية الحصول على نماذج رقمية خاصة بكل حالة على حدى و هي بدورها يمكن استخدامها لاحقاً لإجراء تحاليل العناصر المنتهية و دراسة أماكن توزع الإجهادات في العظم المحيط بالمفصل

Análisis de las consecuencias ocasionadas por el inadecuado proceso de selección de personal en el Restaurante El Oriental de Maicao durante el primer semestre del año 2022

El presente proyecto de grado tiene como objetivo analizar las consecuencias que ha ocasionado el inadecuado proceso de selección de personal llevado a cabo en el Restaurante El Oriental ubicado en el municipio de Maicao – La Guajira durante el primer semestre del año 2022, y está encaminado en proponer estrategias para el mejoramiento de los procesos de reclutamiento y selección de personal del restaurante. Para ello, se realizó una investigación cuantitativa de tipo descriptiva, y la técnica utilizada para recopilar la información necesaria fue una encuesta de once preguntas que se aplicó a una muestra conformada por los trece empleados que laboran en la empresa objeto de estudio con el fin de conocer qué piensan ellos de este proceso, si consideran que se realiza de forma eficaz y adecuada y se invierte el tiempo suficiente, o si por el contrario se cometen errores y omiten pasos fundamentales durante su ejecución. Dicha encuesta permitió identificar que existe una variedad de fallas en el proceso de selección de personal que se realiza en el Restaurante El Oriental, pues no se emplea el tiempo necesario y se omiten pasos importantes como la aplicación de pruebas de personalidad, psicotécnicas y situacionales, las cuales cumplen un papel fundamental al momento de seleccionar los mejores talentos. De igual manera, a partir de la investigación realizada se logró deducir que los errores cometidos en los procesos de reclutamiento y selección de personal dentro la empresa mencionada han impactado negativamente en la productividad, la rentabilidad, la motivación laboral y el clima organizacional de la entidad. Para mitigar dichas consecuencias se propusieron estrategias que contribuyan al mejoramiento de los procesos de reclutamiento y selección de personal, entre las cuales se encuentra contar con un equipo calificado para la gestión del talento humano, asegurarse de aplicar diferentes pruebas a los candidatos que permitan evaluar sus aptitudes, habilidades y experiencias, y no apresurarse en el proceso.The objective of this degree project is to analyze the consequences caused by the inadequate personnel selection process carried out in the El Oriental Restaurant located in the municipality of Maicao - La Guajira during the first semester of the year 2022 and is directed in proposed strategies for the improvement of recruitment and personnel selection processes. For this, a quantitative descriptive investigation was carried out, and the technique used to collect the necessary information was a survey of eleven questions that was applied to a sample made up of the thirteen employees who work in the company under study in order to find out what they think of this process, if they consider that it is carried out efficiently and appropriately and enough time is invested, or if, on the contrary, mistakes are made and fundamental steps are omitted during its execution. This survey allowed us to identify that there are a variety of flaws in the personnel selection process that is carried out in El Oriental Restaurant, since the necessary time is not used and important steps are omitted, such as the application of personality, psychotechnical and situational tests, which play a fundamental role when selecting the best talents. In the same way, from the investigation carried out, it was possible to deduce that the errors committed in the recruitment and selection processes of personnel within the aforementioned company have had a negative impact on productivity, profitability, work motivation and the organizational climate of the entity. To mitigate these consequences, strategies were proposed that contribute to the improvement of the recruitment and selection processes, among which is having a qualified team for the management of human talent, making sure to apply different tests to the candidates that allow evaluating their skills, abilities and experiences, and not rush the process

Inhibition of lysyl oxidases synergizes with 5-azacytidine to restore erythropoiesis in myelodysplastic and myeloid malignancies

Limited response rates and frequent relapses during standard of care with hypomethylating agents in myelodysplastic neoplasms (MN) require urgent improvement of this treatment indication. Here, by combining 5-azacytidine (5-AZA) with the pan-lysyl oxidase inhibitor PXS-5505, we demonstrate superior restoration of erythroid differentiation in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) of MN patients in 20/31 cases (65%) versus 9/31 cases (29%) treated with 5-AZA alone. This effect requires direct contact of HSPCs with bone marrow stroma components and is dependent on integrin signaling. We further confirm these results in vivo using a bone marrow niche-dependent MN xenograft model in female NSG mice, in which we additionally demonstrate an enforced reduction of dominant clones as well as significant attenuation of disease expansion and normalization of spleen sizes. Overall, these results lay out a strong pre-clinical rationale for efficacy of combination treatment of 5-AZA with PXS-5505 especially for anemic MN
