    Coeficiente de balasto para determinar la interacción suelo-estructura por zonas geotécnicas en Huaraz

    The research was developed in the district of Huaraz, the objective was to determine values of ballast coefficients in the 05 geotechnical zones established in the seismic microzonation plan of the town and then use them in mathematical models that consider the soil-structure interaction, for this The methodology that was followed was through an applied type of research, with a correlational level, a non-experimental - transversal design, having the 05 geotechnical zones as the population and sample. To search for the data, the appropriately distributed load plate test and special laboratory tests were carried out. The results obtained from the load plate test were grouped into 03 zones, Zone I has a ballast coefficient variation between 0.50 to 2.00 kg/cm3, zone II between 2.01 to 4.00 kg/cm3 and zone III between 4.01 to 7.00 kg/cm3, the research concludes with the modeling of a house considering soil-structure interaction, where an inversely proportional relationship was found between the values of ballast coefficients with the mezzanine distortion of the house, zone I presented greater mezzanine distortion by having unfavorable values, while zone III reflected lower distortion values by having higher values of ballast coefficients.La investigación se desarrolló en el distrito de Huaraz, el objetivo fue determinar valores de coeficientes de balasto en las zonas 05 zonas geotécnicas establecidas en el plano de microzonificación sísmica de la localidad para luego usarlos en modelos matemáticos que consideren la interacción suelo estructura, para ello la metodología que se siguió fue a través de una investigación de tipo aplicada, con un nivel correlacional, un diseño no experimental - transversal, teniendo como población y muestra las 05 zonas geotécnicas. Para la búsqueda de los datos se realizó el ensayo de placa de carga distribuido adecuadamente y ensayos especiales de laboratorio. Los resultados obtenidos del ensayo de placa de carga se agruparon en 03 zonas, la Zona I tiene una variación de coeficiente de balasto entre 0.50 a 2.00 kg/cm3, la zona II entre 2.01 a 4.00 kg/cm3 y la zona III entre 4.01 a 7.00 kg/cm3, la investigación concluye con el modelamiento de una vivienda considerando interacción suelo – estructura, donde se encontró una relación inversamente proporcional entre los valores de coeficientes de balastó con la distorsión de entrepiso de la vivienda,  la zona I presento mayor distorsión de entrepiso al tener valores desfavorables, mientras que la zona III reflejo valores menores de distorsión al tener valores mayores de coeficientes de balasto

    Evaluación de riesgo por sismo en el centro histórico de Huaraz, distrito de Huaraz, Huaraz - Ancash

    El objetivo es identificar el peligro, la vulnerabilidad y el riesgo del centro histórico de Huaraz debido a la ocurrencia de un sismo. Mediante el uso del manual para la evaluación de riesgos originados por fenómenos naturales en su segunda versión elaborada por el Centro Nacional de Estimación, Prevención y Reducción del Riesgo de Desastre (CENEPRED) se pudo determinar los niveles y mapas de peligro, vulnerabilidad y riesgo. Realizado el trabajo de campo se pudo obtener información de los factores, condicionantes y desencadenantes que fueron relacionados mediante el método multicriterio para un análisis semi cuantitativo, que influirán en los 152 lotes evaluados, fue así que se encontró que 70 lotes presentan un nivel de peligro muy alto y 82 lotes presentan un nivel de peligro alto. Además, se determinó que 55 lotes presentan vulnerabilidad muy alta, 84 lotes vulnerabilidad alta y 13 lotes vulnerabilidad media. La superposición del mapa de peligro y el mapa de vulnerabilidad determinó el riesgo sísmico, encontrándose que el 37% de lotes están en riesgo muy alto y el 63% de lotes están en riesgo alto

    Inhalation of marijuana affects drosophila heart function

    We investigated the effect of inhalation of vaporized marijuana on cardiac function in Drosophila melanogaster, a suitable genetic model for studying human diseases. Adult flies were exposed to marijuana for variable time periods and the effects on cardiac function were studied. Short treatment protocol incremented heart-rate variability. Contractility was augmented only under prolonged exposure to cannabis and itwas associated with incremented calcium transient within cardiomyocytes. Neither the activity of the major proteins responsible for calcium handling nor the calcium load of the sarcoplasmic reticulum were affected by the cannabis treatment. The observed changes manifested in the cardiomyocytes even in the absence of the canonical cannabinoid receptors described in mammals. Our results are the first evidence of the in vivo impact of phytocannabinoids in D. melanogaster. By providing a simple and affordable platformprior to mammalian models, this characterization of cardiac function under marijuana exposure opens new paths for conducting genetic screenings using vaporized compounds.Fil: Gómez, Ivana María.     Amada: Web Data Repositories in the Amazon Cloud

    ABSTRACT We present Amada, a platform for storing Web data (in particular, XML documents and RDF graphs) based on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. Amada operates in a Software as a Service (SaaS) approach, allowing users to upload, index, store, and query large volumes of Web data.     Factors influencing overall survival rates for patients with pineocytoma

    Given its rarity, appropriate treatment for pineocytoma remains variable. As the literature primarily contains case reports or studies involving a small series of patients, prognostic factors following treatment of pineocytoma remain unclear. We therefore compiled a systematic review of the literature concerning post-treatment outcomes for pineocytoma to better determine factors associated with overall survival among patients with pineocytoma. We performed a comprehensive search of the published English language literature to identify studies containing outcome data for patients undergoing treatment for pineocytoma. Kaplan–Meier analysis was utilized to determine overall survival rates. Our systematic review identified 168 total patients reported in 64 articles. Among these patients, 21% underwent biopsy, 38% underwent subtotal resection, 42% underwent gross total resection, and 29% underwent radiation therapy, either as mono- or adjuvant therapy. The 1 and 5 year overall survival rates for patients receiving gross total resection versus subtotal resection plus radiotherapy were 91 versus 88%, and 84 versus 17%, respectively. When compared to subtotal resection alone, subtotal resection plus radiation therapy did not offer a significant improvement in overall survival. Gross total resection is the most appropriate treatment for pineocytoma. The potential benefit of conventional radiotherapy for the treatment of these lesions is unproven, and little evidence supports its use at present

    Goodbye Hartmann trial: a prospective, international, multicenter, observational study on the current use of a surgical procedure developed a century ago

    Background: Literature suggests colonic resection and primary anastomosis (RPA) instead of Hartmann's procedure (HP) for the treatment of left-sided colonic emergencies. We aim to evaluate the surgical options globally used to treat patients with acute left-sided colonic emergencies and the factors that leading to the choice of treatment, comparing HP and RPA. Methods: This is a prospective, international, multicenter, observational study registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. A total 1215 patients with left-sided colonic emergencies who required surgery were included from 204 centers during the period of March 1, 2020, to May 31, 2020. with a 1-year follow-up. Results: 564 patients (43.1%) were females. The mean age was 65.9 ± 15.6 years. HP was performed in 697 (57.3%) patients and RPA in 384 (31.6%) cases. Complicated acute diverticulitis was the most common cause of left-sided colonic emergencies (40.2%), followed by colorectal malignancy (36.6%). Severe complications (Clavien-Dindo ≥ 3b) were higher in the HP group (P < 0.001). 30-day mortality was higher in HP patients (13.7%), especially in case of bowel perforation and diffused peritonitis. 1-year follow-up showed no differences on ostomy reversal rate between HP and RPA. (P = 0.127). A backward likelihood logistic regression model showed that RPA was preferred in younger patients, having low ASA score (≤ 3), in case of large bowel obstruction, absence of colonic ischemia, longer time from admission to surgery, operating early at the day working hours, by a surgeon who performed more than 50 colorectal resections. Conclusions: After 100 years since the first Hartmann's procedure, HP remains the most common treatment for left-sided colorectal emergencies. Treatment's choice depends on patient characteristics, the time of surgery and the experience of the surgeon. RPA should be considered as the gold standard for surgery, with HP being an exception

    Search for dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for weakly interacting massive particle dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks is presented. Final states containing third-generation quarks and miss- ing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at √s = 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of events above the estimated backgrounds is observed. The results are in- terpreted in the framework of simplified models of spin-0 dark-matter mediators. For colour- neutral spin-0 mediators produced in association with top quarks and decaying into a pair of dark-matter particles, mediator masses below 50 GeV are excluded assuming a dark-matter candidate mass of 1 GeV and unitary couplings. For scalar and pseudoscalar mediators produced in association with bottom quarks, the search sets limits on the production cross- section of 300 times the predicted rate for mediators with masses between 10 and 50 GeV and assuming a dark-matter mass of 1 GeV and unitary coupling. Constraints on colour- charged scalar simplified models are also presented. Assuming a dark-matter particle mass of 35 GeV, mediator particles with mass below 1.1 TeV are excluded for couplings yielding a dark-matter relic density consistent with measurements
