Liberazione della vita
Philosophy and music can achieve the same thing by different means. This paper considers three types of improvisation (on a harmonic structure [jazz], free, and “deep listening”) as steps in an investigation on freedom in musical improvisation, as well as on its potential liberation of life. As an alternative to the well-known concepts of “rapid” or “instant composing”, here musical improvisation is conceived of as the production of a present – in which life is present to itself – through composition-for-improvisation and as a kind of poetic work designed to give one a “voice” of one’s own
Composizione e improvvisazione: dove sta la differenza?
Improvisation is often conceived as making music without reading a score. This interpretation derives from the Western identification of composition with written music. But “improvisation” too is a form of composition – and not just in “real time” – with aims and criteria that differ from those of written music. Today the interest in improvisation is growing –and even changing with respect to the postwar years – in connection with changes in music, sound and social relationships, reflecting new media developments
Pyrazole-Based Acid Ceramidase Inhibitors: Design, Synthesis, and Structure–Activity Relationships
Acid ceramidase (AC) is a lysosomal cysteine amidase responsible for the cleavage of ceramide into sphingosine, which is then phosphorylated to sphingosine 1-phosphate. AC regulates the intracellular levels of ceramide and sphingosine, and AC inhibition may be useful in the treatment of disorders, such as cancer, in which ceramide-mediated signaling may be dysfunctional. Despite their potential experimental and therapeutic value, the number of available small-molecule inhibitors of AC activity remains limited. In the present study is described the discovery of a class of potent pyrazole carboxamide-based AC inhibitors, which were identified using the atomic property field (APF) approach and developed through systematic SAR investigations and in vitro pharmacological characterization. The best compound of this series inhibits AC with nanomolar potency and causes ceramide accumulation and sphingosine depletion in intact G361 proliferative melanoma cells. By expanding the current armamentarium of AC inhibitors, these results should facilitate future efforts to unravel the biology of AC and the therapeutic potential of its inhibition.</p
Generation of induced pluripotent stem cell line CSSi008-A (4698) from a patient affected by advanced stage of Dentato-Rubral-Pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA)
Abstract Dentato-Rubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA) is a rare autosomal, dominant, progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes involuntary movements, mental and emotional problems. DRPLA is caused by a mutation in the ATN1 gene that encodes for an abnormal polyglutamine stretch in the atrophin-1 protein. DRPLA is most common in the Japanese population, where it has an estimated incidence of 2 to 7 per million people. This condition has also been seen in families from North America and Europe. We obtained a reprogrammed iPSC line from a Caucasian patient with a juvenile onset of the disease, carrying 64 CAG repeat expansion in the ATN1 gene
Quali strumenti giuridici statali e regionali per le comunit\ue0 patrimoniali?
The Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (Faro Convention, 2005) recognizes a central role to heritage communities in the process of identification, study, interpretation, protection, conservation and presentation of the cultural heritage. As a signatory State of the Convention (signed on 27th February 2013, still waiting for ratification), Italy has in any case to ensure its contribution to the safeguarding of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage by adequate policies. Currently, a State law providing a general regulation of the participation of civil society to the protection and the enhancement of cultural heritage in the Italian legal system has not been adopted yet. Nevertheless, communities, groups and individuals have a wide range of instruments available, which can be drawn by an accurate interpretation of the Constitution and of many State and regional laws. In the long run, the persistent lack of common rules on this subject may be a source of uncertainty, capable of weakening, instead of strengthening, the role of heritage communities, in contrast with the principles of the Faro Convention
The Highly Energetic Expansion of SN2010bh Associated with GRB 100316D
We present the spectroscopic and photometric evolution of the nearby (z =
0.059) spectroscopically confirmed type Ic supernova, SN 2010bh, associated
with the soft, long-duration gamma-ray burst (X-ray flash) GRB 100316D.
Intensive follow-up observations of SN 2010bh were performed at the ESO Very
Large Telescope (VLT) using the X-shooter and FORS2 instruments. Owing to the
detailed temporal coverage and the extended wavelength range (3000--24800 A),
we obtained an unprecedentedly rich spectral sequence among the hypernovae,
making SN 2010bh one of the best studied representatives of this SN class. We
find that SN 2010bh has a more rapid rise to maximum brightness (8.0 +/- 1.0
rest-frame days) and a fainter absolute peak luminosity (L_bol~3e42 erg/s) than
previously observed SN events associated with GRBs. Our estimate of the ejected
(56)Ni mass is 0.12 +/- 0.02 Msun. From the broad spectral features we measure
expansion velocities up to 47,000 km/s, higher than those of SNe 1998bw (GRB
980425) and 2006aj (GRB 060218). Helium absorption lines He I lambda5876 and He
I 1.083 microm, blueshifted by ~20,000--30,000 km/s and ~28,000--38,000 km/s,
respectively, may be present in the optical spectra. However, the lack of
coverage of the He I 2.058 microm line prevents us from confirming such
identifications. The nebular spectrum, taken at ~186 days after the explosion,
shows a broad but faint [O I] emission at 6340 A. The light-curve shape and
photospheric expansion velocities of SN 2010bh suggest that we witnessed a
highly energetic explosion with a small ejected mass (E_k ~ 1e52 erg and M_ej ~
3 Msun). The observed properties of SN 2010bh further extend the heterogeneity
of the class of GRB supernovae.Comment: 37 pages and 12 figures (one-column pre-print format), accepted for

criação, no transporte, no manejo pré-abate no frigorífico,
está diretamente relacionado com a alta qualidade da carne.
O presente trabalho propõe-se a definir cada uma das
etapas do processo produtivo da carne bovina, bem como
ressaltar a importância da utilização dos métodos de insensibilização
na qualidade do produto final.
