Nonempty intersection theorems minimax theorems with applications in generalized interval spaces
We establish some new topological types of nonempty intersection
theorems in more general topological spaces without linear structure. As applications, we utilize results to study the minimax problems, coincidence problems, and economy equilibrium problems in generalized interval spaces and some new results are obtained
Bis[aqua(2,3-naphtho-15-crown-5)sodium] tetrakis(thiocyanato-κN)cobaltate(II)
The title complex, [Na(C18H22O5)(H2O)]2[Co(NCS)4], consists of two aqua(2,3-naphtho-15-crown-5)sodium complex cations and one [Co(NCS)4]2− complex anion, which has crystallographic symmetry. In the anion, the CoII centre is coordinated by the N atoms of four NCS− ligands in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. In the complex cations, the NaI centre is coordinated by five O atoms of the 2,3-naphtho-15-crown-5 ligand and one water O atom. The complex molecules form a two-dimensional network via weak O—H⋯S interactions between adjacent cations and anion
Clinical efficacy of acupuncture and rehabilitation treatment on oculomotor nerve palsy patients
AIM: To explore the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese acupuncture combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy onoculomotor nerve palsy patients. <p>METHODS: From May 2005 to September 2012, 110 cases ofoculomotor palsy were divided into treatment group and control group with 55 cases in each group according to different methods of treatment. The control group received rehabilitation therapy, the treatment group received acupuncture combined with rehabilitation therapy. Before and after 8wk treatment, the light reflex, diopter case, eye fissure width, and eye movement to improve the overall efficiency of the situation were observed between the two groups. <p>RESULTS: After treatment of 8wk, light reflex, diopter case, eye fissure width, and eye movement therapy total effective rate of the treatment group were all better than the control group(<i>P</i><0.05); The eye movement improved in the treatment were 47 cases which accounting for 85.5%, in the control group there were 36 cases which accounting for 65.5%, the treatment group had a higher improvement(<i>P</i><0.05). <p>CONCLUSION: Acupuncture therapy combined with rehabilitation training method significantly reduces the oculomotor nerve palsy in patients with clinical symptoms and improves the patient's quality of life
Test of quantum nonlocality via vector meson decays to
In the system of a pair of quantum-entangled neutral kaons from meson decays,
when one kaon collapses into the state, the other will collapse
instantaneously into the state due to entanglement and nonlocality.
However, if the alternative hypothesis is correct and there's a time window
during which one kaon is unaware that the other has decayed, some quantum
mechanically prohibited decays may occur. We calculate the branching
ratios of in vector meson decays under the locality hypothesis and
compare them with experimental results. We show that the branching ratio of
under locality assumption is already excluded by the
BESIII experimental upper limit. Additional experimental results are proposed
to perform this test in the future.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, 1 tabl
Multi-Granularity Prediction with Learnable Fusion for Scene Text Recognition
Due to the enormous technical challenges and wide range of applications,
scene text recognition (STR) has been an active research topic in computer
vision for years. To tackle this tough problem, numerous innovative methods
have been successively proposed, and incorporating linguistic knowledge into
STR models has recently become a prominent trend. In this work, we first draw
inspiration from the recent progress in Vision Transformer (ViT) to construct a
conceptually simple yet functionally powerful vision STR model, which is built
upon ViT and a tailored Adaptive Addressing and Aggregation (A) module. It
already outperforms most previous state-of-the-art models for scene text
recognition, including both pure vision models and language-augmented methods.
To integrate linguistic knowledge, we further propose a Multi-Granularity
Prediction strategy to inject information from the language modality into the
model in an implicit way, \ie, subword representations (BPE and WordPiece)
widely used in NLP are introduced into the output space, in addition to the
conventional character level representation, while no independent language
model (LM) is adopted. To produce the final recognition results, two strategies
for effectively fusing the multi-granularity predictions are devised. The
resultant algorithm (termed MGP-STR) is able to push the performance envelope
of STR to an even higher level. Specifically, MGP-STR achieves an average
recognition accuracy of on standard benchmarks for scene text
recognition. Moreover, it also achieves state-of-the-art results on widely-used
handwritten benchmarks as well as more challenging scene text datasets,
demonstrating the generality of the proposed MGP-STR algorithm. The source code
and models will be available at:

Optically-Nonactive Assorted Helices Array with Interchangeable Magnetic/Electric Resonance
We report here the designing of optically-nonactive metamaterial by
assembling metallic helices with different chirality. With linearly polarized
incident light, pure electric or magnetic resonance can be selectively
realized, which leads to negative permittivity or negative permeability
accordingly. Further, we show that pure electric or magnetic resonance can be
interchanged at the same frequency band by merely changing the polarization of
incident light for 90 degrees. This design demonstrates a unique approach to
construct metamaterial.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figure
Refunctionalizing a Frayed American China-Taiwan Policy: Incrementalism or Paradigmatic Shift?
This paper is interested in exploring whether it is possible for the US. to pursue parallel relationships with Taiwan and China, that is, whether US.-Taiwan relations can be decoupled from the Washington-Beijing relationship? This paper uses a spatial model to review how US-Taiwan relations have evolved since 1949, when the reality of two Chinas set in with the founding of the PRC. It discusses the increasingly unbalanced dual track framework of current US. policy toward China and Taiwan and contrasts the changing contexts between the SCP\u27s time and the present post-Cold War era. It examines those most important new parameters that were absent or different in the SCP. Based on this contrast, the paper questions the policy\u27s continued validity and calls for a new paradigm to replace the SCP. Based on these new parameters, the final section sketches out a new paradigm for US. policy toward Taiwan in the post-Cold War era and weighs the pros and cons of three distinct policy choices - disengagement, decoupling, and improved status quo-for the shape and direction of future US.-Taiwan relations. By bringing developments up to date (President Bush\u27s December 9, 2003 comments regarding Taiwan\u27s referendum), this paper argues that although the Bush Administration seems content to refunctionalize a frayed framework, it has abandoned strategic ambiguity and has added preference for the status quo
