ASPECTOS DO PROCESSO DE PRODUÇÃO AGRÍCOLA NA CULTURA DA CAMOMILA [Chamomilla recutita (L.) Rauschert] NO MUNICÍPIO DE MANDIRITUBA, PARANÁ
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION PROCESS ASPECT IN CAMOMILA CULTIVATION [Chamomilla
recutita (L.) Rauschert] IN MANDIRITUBA CITY, PARANÁ
Abstract
The Chamomile [Chamomilla recutita (L.) Rauschert] is a seasoned plant and the European
immigrants introduced it into Brazil more than a century ago. Currently, its production is concentrated
around Curitiba, State of Paraná. The town of Madirituba, in the last six years average, has been the
Brazils biggest producer. The chamomile cultivation needs deep research to solve technical and
market problems. This work has been done to study the agricultural process of the chamomile
cultivation at Mandirituba Town as raw material to produce food and medicine. This study was
made in order to detect possible strangulation in this process by analysis of the 52,5% of the
chamomiles producers. The variables analyzed were about the seeds precedence, cultivation
season, the soil preparation and the succession of the plants
The economics of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: does sustainability make financial sense?
The implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals is a global priority, but one whose full implementation is vulnerable to the high costs associated with it. This raises the question: does the implementation of the SDGs make financial sense? This article addresses this question and outlines the need to raise awareness of the economic benefits of implementing the global goals. Further, it presents and discusses the main financial gaps to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030
The integration of social responsibility and sustainability in practice: Exploring attitudes and practices in Higher Education Institutions
The demands placed on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to deliver sustainability initiatives alongside their long-standing social responsibility commitments has been recognised in literature. However, how these interrelate in practice continues to be relatively unexplored. The extant literature suggests that the integration of the two connected agendas can be problematic due to a range of factors, including a general lack of awareness or even misconceptions of the respective agendas. This paper explores the attitudes and practices related to the integration of social responsibility and sustainability initiatives at HEIs. Theoretically, this study highlights the ongoing relative positioning and importance of economic factors – as it relates to differentiation rather than integration – over others such as social responsibility and sustainability. The main implication of this study is that provide useful insights into how HEIs can closer integrate two contemporary but potentially competing agendas
Made available in DSpace on 2011-04-09T12:22:13Z (GMT).
