During the period 1983 – 1999, at INCDBH Stefanesti, the elite Mt. d´Adda 22 St. was selected and grown in contestplantations in order to be destined to the fresh grapevine consumption The identification of the biotypes(clones)having superior quality and production characteristics which manifest constantly, has been achieved through the studyof the elites chosen in comparative fields, using the method of repeated determinations in groups of years, underspecific vineyard conditions. Through repeated verification of the elites in the contest plots the elite Mt. d´Adda 22 St.stood out by superior quality, constant and sustained production of grapevines and the maintenance of the qualitycharacters. The elite was omologated in 2009. There had been identified and studied the clone elites which maintainedtheir productivity and quality characteristics during 2-3 years, which subsequently had been put to vegetativepropagation with a view to obtain the initial grafting material according to the intensive amelioration schemes

Antioxidant Activity and Phenolic Content of Sweet Cherries (Prunus Avium L.) from West and South-West of Romania

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower incidence of degenerative diseases (such as cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancers). Currently, most research is focused on the content of polyphenols and antioxidant compounds found in fruit and vegetable. Sweet cherries (Prunus avium L.) contain a significant amount of polyphenols and several antioxidants that possess many biological activities such as anticancer, antioxidant and anti-inflammation properties. In present study were investigated the quantification of total polyphenols and antioxidant capacity in fruits of a number of selected sweet cherry genotypes. Although sweet cherry fruits are a significant source of different phenolic compounds, antioxidant activity of sweet cherries is not related only with the total phenolic content. Â

At NRDIBH Stefanesti-Arges, in the past decades extensive work has been done to improve the grape-vine, which yielded some remarkable results. The first concerns the improvement of grape-vines to NRDIBH Stefanesti-Arges (then SCPVV Stefanesti) were initiated by the breeder engineer Baditescu Margareta, improvement in the Laboratory in 1982, was its founder, who has dedicated so much to obtain new varieties by crossing sexual and clonal selection to. Improvement work was continued by researchers: Smaranda Julia, Smaranda George, Camelia Popa. After lengthy activity at SCDVV Stefanesti were obtained clones new to old varieties of wine, but also at the table. Thus, clonal selections have been approved for 13 red and white wines. For table varieties were approved Argessis and Golden Stefanesti varieties and clones Stefanesti, Muscat Adda 22 and Perlette 10. Varieties approved quality characteristics that allow for superior wines, varieties of wine for the table and the quality of the grapes is good looks for Romania to meet the demands of markets in developed countries. Spread production of new varieties of table grapes, can effectively contribute to the recovery in activity in wine country by increasing efficiency and profitability

CURRENT SITUATION OF THE TABLEGRAPE VARIETIES CULTURES IN ROMANIA AND WORLDWIDE

    No full text
The research of the present paper aimed at determining the position of the Romanian viticulture in relation to international viticulture, as regards the culture of grapevine varieties for tablegrapes. The data presented had been taken from OIV. The paper includes: the repartition of the tablegrape yields according to continents, the tablegrape yields in different countries, the main exporting countries of tablegrape varieties, the main importing countries of tablegrape varieties, the individual consumption of tablegrapes and the the culture of the tablegrape varieties in Romania

THE PREMULTIPLICATION NUCLEUS - ROLE IN MAINTAINING THE VALUE OF THE TECHNICAL MATERIAL PROPAGATING WINE

The strategy of developing the viticultural sector implies the restructuring of the national nursery system, as a result of implementing the European legislation, namely by placing the premultiplication nucleus at the head of the viticultural channel as a guarantee of ensuring the biological traceability and retraceability of the certified propagation material. Also, in the nucleus hothouse, the ameliorator transfers the results of clone selection, sanitary and creation of new genotypes activity which can be finalized by homologation. These stipulations which should be controlled and respected during the maintenance period with a view to prevent the biological degradation and the reinfection with pathogens of the propagating material, are obligatory during premultiplication and transfer period in the nursery

THE EVALUATION OF THE FREEZING RESISTANCE OF THE WINTER SHOOTS AT CERTAIN GRAPEVINE VARIETIES FOR TABLE GRAPES UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF THE WINTER 2011-2012

In order to achieve this paper we have studied the freezing resistance and the effect of low temperatures over the viability of the winter shoots at certain grapevine varieties for the tablegrapes cultivated in the Stefanesti vineyard, Arges. The studied varieties were: Canner, Auriu of Stefanesti, Perlette 10 St. from the white tablegrape variety; Muscat Adda 22 St, Argessis, Moldova from the red tablegrape variety. As a result of the study, we have noticed the sensitivity of Perlette and Augusta varieties at the low temperatures of the respective winter. We have presented data concerning the determining procedure of the percentage of viable shoots

A comparative study over 3 years has been carried out in the experimental lots of INCDBH Ştefăneşti on the main varieties apirens . A special attention has been drawn by the Canner variety, the variety apiren with medium ripening. The identification of the biotypes (clones) having superior quality and production characteristics which manifest constantly, has been achieved through the study of the elites chosen in comparative fields, using the method of repeated determinations in groups of years, under specific vineyard conditions. Canner is a variety obtained by OLMO in 1969, by cross-breeding the varieties Hunisa and Sultanina. It is a variety with white, large, oval, seedless grapes which can be used mainly in obtaining raisins, jam and compote

Climatic conditions in recent years, table grapes grown in INCDBH Ştefăneşti-Arges have suffered greatly. Thus, after the winter of 2011-201, were most affected, after frosts in February 2012 (-20.9 ° C). To avoid loss of production must improve technology applied in plots with table grape varieties. In this paper, these improvements were the differentiated application logging, leading to increased production quantity and quality of table grapes. Varieties taken in the experiment were: Argessis, Golden Ştefăneşti, Augusta, Muscat Hamburg, Victoria and seedless varieties: Canner, Perlette and Otilia. Depending on the type of cut applied to these species, it was observed that cutting short rod elements (drill and cord) is increasingly recommended, followed by cutting long string of 10-12 eyes. All types of cut applied, do not increase the production of grapes / ha, if those varieties are not grown on land fertilized properly and are not applied in time the technology works agrophytotechnical initially set
