Lone Star Productions (LSP) is a concert promotions business that was started in 1981 by Bill Oldman. Since 1986, this company has been the exclusive provider of concert promotion materials for 75% of the top grossing national tours. In 1997, Bill Oldman sold the company to a group of investors headed by Mike Sims. With a background in banking and investments, Sims took over a LSP’s president. Bill Oldman remained as the Chief Executive Officer of the company. Lone Star Productions’ business encompasses several segments, including concert promotions, audio and video production, production staffing, video editing, web site development, and equipment and suite rental. Currently, concert promotions account for 90% of the company’s revenue. Efforts to build business in the areas other than concert promotion have been mildly successful, but LSP considers the further development of these business areas to be critical to the long-term profitability and financial stability of the company, LSP is currently considering buying the largest video production company in the Dallas, Texas area.(Contact author for a copy of the complete report.)Small Busn. Spacelab experiment computer study. Volume 1: Executive summary (presentation)

    Get PDF
A quantitative cost for various Spacelab flight hardware configurations is provided along with varied software development options. A cost analysis of Spacelab computer hardware and software is presented. The cost study is discussed based on utilization of a central experiment computer with optional auxillary equipment. Groundrules and assumptions used in deriving the costing methods for all options in the Spacelab experiment study are presented. The groundrules and assumptions, are analysed and the options along with their cost considerations, are discussed. It is concluded that Spacelab program cost for software development and maintenance is independent of experimental hardware and software options, that distributed standard computer concept simplifies software integration without a significant increase in cost, and that decisions on flight computer hardware configurations should not be made until payload selection for a given mission and a detailed analysis of the mission requirements are completed

Observation of double radiative capture on pionic hydrogen

We report the first observation of double radiative capture on pionic hydrogen. The experiment was conducted at the TRIUMF cyclotron using the RMC spectrometer, and detected γ\gamma--ray coincidences following π−\pi^- stops in liquid hydrogen. We found the branching ratio for double radiative capture to be (3.05±0.27(stat.)±0.31(syst.))×10−5(3.05 \pm 0.27(stat.) \pm 0.31(syst.)) \times 10^{-5}. The measured branching ratio and angle-energy distributions support the theoretical prediction of a dominant contribution from the ππ→γγ\pi \pi \to \gamma \gamma annihilation mechanism.Comment: 4 Pages, 4 Figures. accepted for publication in Phys. SHAPE reveals transcript-wide interactions, complex structural domains, and protein interactions across the Xist lncRNA in living cells

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important regulators of gene expression, but their structural features are largely unknown. We used structure-selective chemical probing to examine the structure of the Xist lncRNA in living cells and found that the RNA adopts well-defined and complex structures throughout its entire 18-kb length. By looking for changes in reactivity induced by the cellular environment, we were able to identify numerous previously unknown hubs of protein interaction. We also found that the Xist structure governs specific protein interactions in multiple distinct ways. Our results provide a detailed structural context for Xist function and lay a foundation for understanding structure–function relationships in all lncRNAs

Neutrino Quasielastic Scattering on Nuclear Targets: Parametrizing Transverse Enhancement (Meson Exchange Currents)

    Get PDF
We present a parametrization of the observed enhancement in the transverse electron quasielastic (QE) response function for nucleons bound in carbon as a function of the square of the four momentum transfer (Q2Q^2) in terms of a correction to the magnetic form factors of bound nucleons. The parametrization should also be applicable to the transverse cross section in neutrino scattering. If the transverse enhancement originates from meson exchange currents (MEC), then it is theoretically expected that any enhancement in the longitudinal or axial contributions is small. We present the predictions of the "Transverse Enhancement" model (which is based on electron scattering data only) for the νμ,νˉμ\nu_\mu, \bar{\nu}_\mu differential and total QE cross sections for nucleons bound in carbon. The Q2Q^2 dependence of the transverse enhancement is observed to resolve much of the long standing discrepancy in the QE total cross sections and differential distributions between low energy and high energy neutrino experiments on nuclear targets.Comment: Revised Version- July 21, 2011: 17 pages, 20 Figures. Determination of two-photon exchange amplitudes from elastic electron-proton scattering data

Using the available cross section and polarization data for elastic electron-proton scattering, we provide an extraction of the two-photon exchange amplitudes at a common value of four-momentum transfer, around Q^2 = 2.5 GeV^2. This analysis also predicts the e^+ p / e^- p elastic scattering cross section ratio, which will be measured by forthcoming experiments.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures, updated error analysi

SOSIALISASI KOMISI YUDISIAL MALUKU UNTUK MEMBANGUN PERADILAN BERSIH DI NEGERI LATUHALAT

    Get PDF
