Slip and Separation At Interface of Composite Slabs
Resistance of composite elements at the sheet-concrete interface was determined from a small-scale test. The influence of resistance at the interface, especially the vertical resistance, on the behavior of composite slabs was studied by a finite element method. The results showed that the horizontal shear resistance affected greatly on the capacity of the composite slabs. However, the vertical resistance did not influence much on the capacity and it can be neglected in the analysis
Composite Slabs Analyzed by Block Bending Test
A new small-scale test, concrete block bending test, was carried out to determine the amount of shear stress and the slip distribution at the interface between the steel sheet and the concrete. The result was then used in the finite element analysis to predict the behaviour of composite slabs. Good agreement has been shown between the analytical results and measured results from the full-scale composite slabs
Fatigue strength of cable couplers in prestressed concrete beams
Fatigue tests have been carried out on ten prestressed concrete beams. Six of the beams were furnished with a cable coupler in the mid-span and four beams had no cable coupler. The uncoupled beams could in some cases sustain 9 times as many load cycles as the coupled beams.
