Higgs Searches and Prospects at CDF
The Standard model of electroweak interactions (SM) has been extremely successful in describing interactions of elementary particles over the last decades. The Higgs scalar boson is one of the key elements of the SM: Higgs interactions with the other particles generate the particle masses and allow to keep the theory renormalizable at electroweak scale. All the particles predicted by the SM but the Higgs boson have already been observed experimentally and therefore search for the Higgs is one of the most important scientific goals for high energy physics. The current lower limit on the SM Higgs mass M{sub H} > 114.4 GeV at 95% CL has been established by LEP experiments. In this paper we review CDF Run I results on Higgs searches including the Higgs bosons predicted by the minimal supersymmetric extention of the Standard Model (MSSM) and discuss the Run II prospects
The Chances to Produce and Detect the b-b-ubar-dbar Tetraquark at LHC
In the LHC collider a significant rate of events with double parton
scattering is expected. This will be the leading mechanism for production of
two b-bbar pairs. We estimate the probability of binding two b quarks into a
diquark and the probability of dressing this diquark into a b-b-ubar-dbar
ISP=01+ tetraquark. Calculations shows that that this bound state of two B
mesons is stable against the strong interaction and has a life time of the
order of ps. We estimate that the production rate at luminosity L=0.1 events
per second will be about 6 tetraquarks per hour or more.Comment: Contributed talk at the XVIII European Conference on Few-Body

Physics Prospects at the Hadron Colliders
I start with a brief introduction to the elementary particles and their
interactions, Higgs mechanism and supersymmetry. The major physics objectives
of the Tevatron and LHC colliders are identified. The status and prospects of
the top quark, charged Higgs boson and superparticle searches are discussed in
detail, while those of the neutral Higgs boson(s) are covered in a parallel

Charm-sea Contribution to High-p_T \psi Production at the Fermilab Tevatron
The direct production of at large transverse momentum, , at the Fermilab Tevatron is revisited. It is found that the
sea-quark initiated processes dominate in the high- region within the
framework of color-singlet model, which is not widely realized. We think this
finding is enlightening for further investigation on the charmonium production
mechanism.Comment: Conclusions not changed, to appear in J. of Phys.
Heavy Flavours in Collider Experiments
Current issues in the studies of Heavy Flavours in colliders are described
with particular emphasis on experiments in which the UK is involved. Results on
charm production at HERA are examined and compared to those at the Tevatron. B
production rates at the Tevatron as well as the status of B lifetimes and
mixing in the LEP collaborations and at the Tevatron are highlighted. The
measurement of sin2beta from CDF is described as well as the most recent
results on top physics at the Tevatron
Physics Beyond the Standard Model
I briefly summarize the prospects for extending our understanding of physics

Some recent discoveries in the spectroscopy of hadrons containing heavy

Deep inelastic production at HERA in the -factorization approach and its consequences for the nonrelativistic QCD
In the framework of the -factorization approach, we analyse the
inclusive and inelastic production of particles in deep inelastic
scattering. We take into account both colour-singlet and colour-octet
production channels. We inspect the sensitivity of theoretical predictions to
the choice of model parameters. Our theoretical results agree reasonably well
with recent experimental data collected by the collaboration H1 at HERA.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figure
Soft Photoproduction Physics
Several topics of interest in soft photoproduction physics are discussed.
These include jet universality issues (particle flavour composition), the
subdivision into event classes, the buildup of the total photoproduction cross
