Simulating spin-3/2 particles at colliders
Support for interactions of spin-3/2 particles is implemented in the
FeynRules and ALOHA packages and tested with the MadGraph 5 and CalcHEP event
generators in the context of three phenomenological applications. In the first,
we implement a spin-3/2 Majorana gravitino field, as in local supersymmetric
models, and study gravitino and gluino pair-production. In the second, a
spin-3/2 Dirac top-quark excitation, inspired from compositness models, is
implemented. We then investigate both top-quark excitation and top-quark
pair-production. In the third, a general effective operator for a spin-3/2
Dirac quark excitation is implemented, followed by a calculation of the angular
distribution of the s-channel production mechanism.Comment: 20 pages, 7 figure
New Developments in MadGraph/MadEvent
We here present some recent developments of MadGraph/MadEvent since the
latest published version, 4.0. These developments include: Jet matching with
Pythia parton showers for both Standard Model and Beyond the Standard Model
processes, decay chain functionality, decay width calculation and decay
simulation, process generation for the Grid, a package for calculation of
quarkonium amplitudes, calculation of Matrix Element weights for experimental
events, automatic dipole subtraction for next-to-leading order calculations,
and an interface to FeynRules, a package for automatic calculation of Feynman
rules and model files from the Lagrangian of any New Physics model.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures. Plenary talk given at SUSY08, Seoul, South Korea,

Asymmetric collisions in MadGraph5_aMC@NLO
We will gain unprecedented, high-accuracy insights into the internal structure of the atomic nucleus thanks to lepton-hadron collision studies in the coming years at the Electron-Ion-Collider (EIC) in the United States. A good control of radiative corrections is necessary for the EIC to be fully exploited and to extract valuable information from various measurements. We present our extension of photoproduction at fixed order in MadGraph5_aMC@NLO, a widely used framework for (next-to-)leading order calculations at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). It applies to electron-hadron collisions, in which the quasi-real photon comes from an electron as well as to proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions
Wet-Chemical Synthesis of 3D Stacked Thin Film Metal-Oxides for All-Solid-State Li-Ion Batteries.
By ultrasonic spray deposition of precursors, conformal deposition on 3D surfaces of tungsten oxide (WOâ) negative electrode and amorphous lithium lanthanum titanium oxide (LLT) solid-electrolyte has been achieved as well as an all-solid-state half-cell. Electrochemical activity was achieved of the WOâ layers, annealed at temperatures of 500 °C. Galvanostatic measurements show a volumetric capacity (415 mAh·cm-3) of the deposited electrode material. In addition, electrochemical activity was shown for half-cells, created by coating WOâ with LLT as the solid-state electrolyte. The electron blocking properties of the LLT solid-electrolyte was shown by ferrocene reduction. 3D depositions were done on various micro-sized Si template structures, showing fully covering coatings of both WOâ and LLT. Finally, the thermal budget required for WOâ layer deposition was minimized, which enabled attaining active WOâ on 3D TiN/Si micro-cylinders. A 2.6-fold capacity increase for the 3D-structured WOâ was shown, with the same current density per coated area
Les Houches 2013: Physics at TeV Colliders: Standard Model Working Group Report
This Report summarizes the proceedings of the 2013 Les Houches workshop on
Physics at TeV Colliders. Session 1 dealt primarily with (1) the techniques for
calculating standard model multi-leg NLO and NNLO QCD and NLO EW cross sections
and (2) the comparison of those cross sections with LHC data from Run 1, and
projections for future measurements in Run 2.Comment: Proceedings of the Standard Model Working Group of the 2013 Les

MadGraph 5 : Going Beyond
MadGraph 5 is the new version of the MadGraph matrix element generator,
written in the Python programming language. It implements a number of new,
efficient algorithms that provide improved performance and functionality in all
aspects of the program. It features a new user interface, several new output
formats including C++ process libraries for Pythia 8, and full compatibility
with FeynRules for new physics models implementation, allowing for event
generation for any model that can be written in the form of a Lagrangian.
MadGraph 5 builds on the same philosophy as the previous versions, and its
design allows it to be used as a collaborative platform where theoretical,
phenomenological and simulation projects can be developed and then distributed
to the high-energy community. We describe the ideas and the most important
developments of the code and illustrate its capabilities through a few simple
phenomenological examples.Comment: 37 pages, 5 figures, 7 table
Dark Matter benchmark models for early LHC Run-2 Searches: Report of the ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum
This document is the final report of the ATLAS-CMS Dark Matter Forum, a forum organized by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations with the participation of experts on theories of Dark Matter, to select a minimal basis set of dark matter simplified models that should support the design of the early LHC Run-2 searches. A prioritized, compact set of benchmark models is proposed, accompanied by studies of the parameter space of these models and a repository of generator implementations. This report also addresses how to apply the Effective Field Theory formalism for collider searches and present the results of such interpretations
