AgRISTARS: Foreign commodity production forecasting. Country summary report, Australia
Australia is one of the world's major growers and exporters of wheat and as such is one of the countries of interest in the AgRISTARS program which endeavors to develop technology to estimate crop production using aerospace remote sensing. A compilation of geographic, political, and agricultural information on Australia is presented. Also included is a summary of the aerospace remote sensing, meteorological, and ground-observed data which were collected with respect to Australia, as well as a summary of contacts between AgRISTARS and Australia personnel

Selecting reconnaissance strategies for floodplain surveys
Multispectral aircraft and satellite data over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River were analyzed to evaluate potential contributions of remote sensing to flood-plain surveys. Multispectral digital classifications of land cover features indicative of floodplain areas were used by interpreters to locate various floodprone area boundaries. The digital approach permitted LANDSAT results to be displayed at 1:24,000 scale and aircraft results at even larger scales. Results indicate that remote sensing techniques can delineate floodprone areas more easily in agricultural and limited development areas as opposed to areas covered by a heavy forest canopy. At this time it appears that the remote sensing data would be best used as a form of preliminary planning information or as an internal check on previous or ongoing floodplain studies. In addition, the remote sensing techniques can assist in effectively monitoring floodplain activities after a community enters into the National Flood Insurance Program

USDAâNRCS Graze Model: An Update of a Static Pasture Balance Tool for Grazing Planners
The USDAâNRCS Graze Model is a spreadsheetâbased, pasture budgeting digital tool to assist landowners and grazing advisors assess the pasture balance of current and future forage livestock systems. The tool will assess current stocking rates and help to calculate optimal carrying capacity. The model allows the user to see the impact of changing the forage base and grazing efficiency on the ability of a system to be sustainable. The model will accommodate cattle, sheep, goats, and seasonal grazing livestock. Yield information is based on historic, attainable values for Kentucky and the midâSouth region. Livestock intake is calculated on a percent bodyweight basis.

Test and evaluate passive orbital disconnect struts (PODS 3)
The objectives of the Passive Orbital Disconnect Struts (PODS) test are to evaluate modal resonance of the PODS-III supports to obtain engineering data required for use of PODS-III on flight systems; determine possible performance improvements in large LO2/LH2 space applications. (1) Modal Vibration Tests. A modal resonance survey is performed on a set of six PODS-III struts assembled in a dewar simulator. The survey conditions simulate both launch and orbital loadings of the struts. The orbital load range spans a full to an empty tank. The frequencies surveyed cover the range consistent with Shuttle qualification requirements and the principal resonant modes of the strut system. (2) Benefit study. The benefit of using PODS-III supports on OTV and Space Station LO sub 2 and LH sub 2 reference tanks was compared to nondisconnect supports. Four LO sub 2 and LH sub 2 tanks were studied under various conditions: (1) holding the launch resonance at 35 Hz and varying the orbit resonance; (2) analyzing both full and emtpy tanks at launch; (3) varying orbit boundary temperaure; (4) varying the number of struts; (5) varying orbit times; and (6) using or not using vapor cooling
Communicating sustainability practices and values: a case study approach of a micro-organisation in the UK
This article investigates sustainability communication through the lens of integrated marketing communication (IMC) by focusing on one case organisation that sees aspects of sustainability at the heart of its operations. This qualitative inquiry utilises a case study approach and a variety of methodological tools, including in-depth semi-structure interviews and semiotic analysis of online and offline media. Findings highlight although the case organisation seeks to use an IMC approach across their multiple communication channels the same message cannot always be conveyed as, especially social media channels, have restricted formatting settings. As a result the encoded message is confusing and leads to a loss of meaning. Although this research is based on a single case study, it allows for an in-depth investigation of a phenomenon and practical recommendations on how to overcome challenges with online platforms. This research is of value as it investigates IMC in and under researched context micro-organisations, as well as combines it with challenges of effectively broadcasting sustainability messages to an end-consumer
KRb Feshbach Resonances: Modeling the interatomic potential
We have observed 28 heteronuclear Feshbach resonances in 10 spin combinations
of the hyperfine ground states of a 40K 87Rb mixture. The measurements were
performed by observing the loss rates from an atomic mixture at magnetic fields
between 0 and 700 G. This data was used to significantly refine an interatomic
potential derived from molecular spectroscopy, yielding a highly consistent
model of the KRb interaction. Thus, the measured resonances can be assigned to
the corresponding molecular states. In addition, this potential allows for an
accurate calculation of the energy differences between highly excited levels
and the rovibrational ground level. This information is of particular relevance
for the formation of deeply bound heteronuclear molecules. Finally, the model
is used to predict Feshbach resonances in mixtures of 87Rb combined with 39K or

Radio frequency association of heteronuclear Feshbach molecules
We present a detailed analysis of the production efficiency of weakly bound
heteronuclear KRb-Feshbach molecules using radio frequency association in a
harmonic trap. The efficiency was measured in a wide range of temperatures,
binding energies and radio frequencies. A comprehensive analytical model is
presented, explaining the observed asymmetric spectra and achieving good
quantitative agreement with the measured production rates. This model provides
a deep understanding of the molecule association process and paves the way for
future experiments which rely on Feshbach molecules e.g. for the production of
