Basic Metals. XIV. Synthesis and Crystal Structure of CH(PMe)CoS : A New Metallapentathia Heterocycle
Der Zweikernkomplex CH(PMe)Co(-CO)Mn(CO)CHMe (8) reagiert mit stöchiometrischen Mengen S in praktisch quantitativer Ausbeute zu CH(PMe)CoS (4). Der Koba.ltapentathia-Heterocyclus 4 ist ebenfalls aus CH(PMe)Co(h-CS) (5) und S zugänglich. 4 kristallisiert monoklin mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 8,467(3) A, b = 12,128(4) A, c = 14,210(4) A und = 102,20(2)°_ Die Sesselform des sechsgliedrigen CoS-Rings entspricht derjenigen in den bekannten Verbindungen (CH)TiS und (CH)VS , wobei in 4 der Cyclopentadienylligand die axiale und die Trimethylphosphingruppe die ä.quatoriale Position einnehmen. The dinuclear complex CH(PMe)Co(-CO)Mn(CO)CHMe (8) reaots with stoichiometric amounts of S to form CH(PMe)CoS (4) in practica.lly quantitative yields. The cobalt. apentathia heterocycle 4 is a.lso obtained by the reaction of CH(PMe)Co(h-CS) (5) with S, Cry. stals of 4 are monoclinic with a = 8.467(3) A, b = 12.128(4) A, c = 14.210(4) A and = 102.20(2)°. The chair form of the six·membered CoS ringcorresponds to that of the compounds (CH)TiS and (CH)VS In 4, the cyclopentadienyl ligand occupies the axial and the trimethylphosphine group the equatorial position

Dimeric alkoxy-bridged compounds of the type [CHSbX(OR)(μ-OR)] (X = Cl, Br; R = CH, CH) are prepared by oxidation of CHSb(OR) with Br or S0Cl in CHCl below -60°C as light sensitive erystals. The structure of [CHSbBr(OCH)(μ-OCH)] was determined by X-Ray analysis. By reaction with sodium alkoxides in the corresponding alcohol at 0°C dimeric tetraalkoxymethylstiboranes are obtained. Exchange reactions of tetramethoxymethylstiborane with ethanol give the ethoxy derivative and with diols symmetrie spirocyclic esters of methanestibonic acid
KCuS, a new Thiocuprate
Bei niedrigeren Temperaturen entstehen die schon von W. RüDORFF3 beschriebenen Verbindungen KCuS und KCuS, die wir hier an Hand ihrer bekannten Pulverdiagramme identifizieren konnten.KCuS can be synthesized by fusion reactions of copper with KCO and sulfur at temperatures between 780 and 850°C. X-ray investigations on single crystals revealed its structure. The monoclinic unit cell contains foul' formula units, the space group is C2/m. KCuS crystallizes in a layer-type structure and is isotypic with CsAgS
A pentagonal pyramidal coordination of Bismut. Crystal structure of Methylbismuthbis(diethyldithiocar bamate)
The crystal structure of the title compound, recrystallized from ethanol, was solved by means of X-ray diffraction methods and could be refined to an R-value of 0.050 with 2126 reflections observed. In contrast to its behaviour in benzene solution, where the compound is monomerie, in the crystalline state dimerie units are formed by intermoleeular Bi-S-interactions. The bismuth atoms are coordinated in form of a slightly distorted pentagonal pyramid with the free electron pair presumably directed opposite the apical C-atom

Triphenylgallane reacts with alkyl- and aryl-thiols, respectively, with formation of the corresponding diphenylalkyl- and diphenylaryl-thiogallanes. Spectra and some physical and chemical properties of the new compounds are given. The results of the X-ray structure determination of diphenylethylthiogallane are discussed
