    Get PDF
In the present paper, 14 species of Ichneumonidae collected in Biskra region (Algeria) are reported. The species Trathala hierochontica (Schmiedeknecht, 1910), Diplazon laetatorius Fabricius, 1781, Ophion obscuratus Fabricius, 1798, Enicospilus tournieri (Vollenhoven, 1879), Dichrogaster schimitcheki (Fahringer, 1935), Dichrogaster longicaudata (Thomson, 1884), Gelis imitatus (Schwarz, 2016) and Lysibia nana (Gravenhorst, 1829) are reported as new records for the Algerian fauna. Most of this work was accomplished during a scientific visit by the first author to the University of Alicante (Spain) which was funded by the National Higher Agronomic School, Algiers

Influencia del tipo de trampa en la captura de Ichneumonidae (Insecta, Hymenoptera)

    Get PDF

The species of the Neotropical genus Fractipons Townes, 1970 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Cryptinae)

    Get PDF
In this paper, two new species of the Neotropical genus Fractipons Townes, 1970 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) are described. A new diagnosis for the genus, a re-description of Fractipons cincticornis Townes, 1970 and a key to known species are provided. New distribution records for the genus now include Argentina, Costa Rica, Panama and Peru. This paper was partially supported by Project A/026909/09 of the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación), Spain, and grant BEST/2010/036 from the Conselleria d’Educacio (Generalitat Valenciana, Spain)

Variability and fluctuating asymmetry of mid tibial spurs in Eucremastus Szépligeti (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Cremastinae)

    Get PDF
The presence of one or two spurs on the mid tibia has been widely used as a diagnostic character in many taxa, but it has been discovered to be a highly variable character in the Cremastinae genus Eucremastus. Variation in the number of mid tibial spurs and occurrence of asymmetry in this genus was studied. The anomalies observed in this character are classified into three categories. Other non-cremastine genera traditionally characterized by having a single mid tibial spur were studied, but no anomalies were found. The taxonomic implications of this variation are discussed. This research received support from the SYNTHESYS Project http://www.synthesys.info/, which is financed by the European Community Research Infrastructure Action under the FP6 and FP7. It was also partially supported by Project 040/2002 from Ministerio de Medio Ambiente of Spanish Government and by a grant to the second author from the University of Alicante, Alicante, Spain (Programa Propi del Vicerectorat d’Investigació, Desenvolupament i Innovació per al Foment de la I+D+I – 2014; Ref. First record of the genus Phradis Förster (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Tersilochinae) from the Neotropical Region

    Get PDF
One new species of the genus Phradis, Phradis peruvianus sp. n., from the mountainous part of Peruvian Amazonia, is described and illustrated. This is the first record of the genus from South America and the Neotropical region. This work was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (No. 10-04-00265), by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences Programme “Origin and Evolution of Biosphere, Subprogram II”, and by Project A/013484/07 from Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación, Spain). Western Amazonian Ateleutina (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Cryptinae)

    Get PDF
Ateleutina is a small subtribe of Cryptinae (Ichneumonidae) composed of two genera: Ateleute Förster and Tamaulipeca Kasparyan. Neither of the genera includes species described from South America. In this article five new species of Ateleute (A. ashaninka sp. n. and A. amarakaeri from Peru, A. shuar sp. n. from Ecuador and Peru, and A. huaorani sp. n. and A. kichua sp. n. from Ecuador) and three new species of Tamaulipeca (T. bora sp. n. from Ecuador and Peru, T. candoshi sp. n. from Ecuador and T. matses sp. n. from Peru) are described and illustrated from Western Amazonia. Identification keys to the known South American species of the genera are provided. This paper was supported by Project A/013484/07 of the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación, Spain), grant BEST/2010/036 from the Conselleria d’Educacio (Generalitat Valenciana, Spain) and by the Kone Foundation, Finland (Biodiversity and multitrophic interactions project)

A review of Piasites Seyrig (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Cryptinae), with description of seven new species

    Get PDF
The taxonomic limits of the Malagasy genus Piasites Seyrig are reviewed. The genus is redescribed and compared to other similar taxa, especially the Afrotropical Bozakites Seyrig. The type species, P. carinatus Seyrig, is redescribed; its extensive colour variation is described and discussed. Seven new species are described and illustrated: P. lineatus, P. nigricollis, P. orbitalis, P. perinetensis, P. politus, P. quasimodus and P. seyrigi. An identification key to the species is presented. Most of this work was accomplished during a scientific visit by the first author to the MNHN funded by the University of Alicante, Spain (Programa Propio para el fomento de la I+D+i de la Universidad de Alicante 2021, Vicerrectorado de Investigación, Ref.
