âClinical Management of an Epigenetic Enamel Hypoplasia- A Case Reportâ
Enamel hypoplasia is quantitative enamel defect, having reduced thickness of enamel. Dental enamel defects have been associated with a broad spectrum of etiologies including genetic and epigenetic factors such as systemic (bronchial asthma), local and environmental factors. Partial anodontia can be caused due to environmental and genetic factors which can cause failure of tooth development. The purpose of the case report is to emphasize the possible correlation between bronchial asthma and enamel hypoplasia and the clinical management of the same
Glass Fibre Reinforced Composite Resin Post & Core In Decayed Primary Anterior Teeth â A Case Report
Dental caries is the singled most common chronic childhood disease. In early childhood caries there is early carious involvement and gross destruction of maxillary anterior teeth. This case presents the clinical sequence of rehabilitation of maxillary anterior primary teeth. Endodontic treatment was followed by the placement of a new fibre post, glass fibre reinforced composite resin post. The crown reconstruction was done with strip crowns.KEY WORDS: - Anterior restoration, Post, Glass Fibre Reinforced Composite Resin
Periodontal Management of Non Healing Endodontic Lesionâ A Case Report
The fact that the periodontium is anatomically interrelated with the dental pulp by virtue of apical foramina and lateral canals creates pathways for exchange of noxious agents between the two tissue compartments when either or both of the tissues are diseased. Proper diagnosis of the various disorders affecting the periodontium and the pulp is important to exclude unnecessary and even detrimental treatment. This is a clinical case report of an enododontic–periodontic lesion in relation to lower left central incisor. Root canal treatment has been done with the respected tooth six months ago, but the lesion showed no sign of healing resulting in draining sinus and increasing pocket depth. Radiographic examination revealed over-obturation of gutta-percha with peri-radicular pathology. Periodontal flap surgery was performed and the defect was filled with bone graft mixed with Platelet rich plasma (PRP) and covered by platelet rich fibrin (PRF). Patient reviewed for six months which showed uneventful healing and no recurrence of the lesion

Basic life support revisited â New American Heart Association, 2015, guidelines: An update for dental professionals
American Heart Association (AHA) - a professional organization dealing with appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke, portrays the necessity of continuous evaluated evidence-based medicine. Thus, AHA formally introduces every 5 years their guidelines for the Emergency Cardiovascular Care on the basis of a thorough evidence search to make provision of the best possible treatment for patients with cardiac emergencies. Since, new 2015 AHA guidelines are established very recently, awareness of our fellow dentists with its major changes at least with respect to basic life support (BLS) seems important. Hence, this communication is scripted to throw light on the significant changes in 2015 AHA guidelines has brought in BLS protocols
Patent law in dentistry: An overview
Dentistry in recent years has developed interest in the field of intellectual property rights (IPR) and Patents due to extensive research in the fraternity and existing competition. There have been various patent applications and grants in the field of dentistry abroad due to better understanding of IPR but India still has very few patent grants and applications on the subject matter. This review article in particular deals with the understanding of IPR and Patents as a whole, especially for dental professionals involved in research and development. Hence, this would also act as an asset for dental researchers to explore and expand their scope of activities, with special privileges empowered for their work
