The research concerns self-monitoring psychological processes and aims to verify two hypothesises: that there is difference in the theories on Self in HSM and LSM, and that the HSMs are more able implicit readers than the LSMs. The 18 item SMS was administered to 86 people, who had also undergone the implicit reading test. HSM and LSM were then thoroughly studied with further implicit reading trials and by means of dilemmas intended to explore their implicit theories of self. The HSMs read more implicits, in a livelier way, and with less fatigue. The dilemmas show differences in the structure of the self and above all in the moral conviction of self.

Progressive Differences Convolutional Low-Density Parity-Check Codes

We present a new family of low-density parity-check (LDPC) convolutional codes that can be designed using ordered sets of progressive differences. We study their properties and define a subset of codes in this class that have some desirable features, such as fixed minimum distance and Tanner graphs without short cycles. The design approach we propose ensures that these properties are guaranteed independently of the code rate. This makes these codes of interest in many practical applications, particularly when high rate codes are needed for saving bandwidth. The text examines the presence of Carlo Sbisà at the Venice Biennale from 1948 to 1964. Sbisà participated at the XXIV Biennale di Venezia (1948) as painter, sculptor and ceramist with the specific desire to show his new artistic interests. At the Biennale of 1950 he exhibited a small sculpture in terracotta and some ceramics, made with his wife Mirella Schott. He was present in all subsequent editions of the Biennale until 1964 (except for the Biennales of 1958 and 1960).
