Kirche und Presse in den Entwicklungsländern

Mit dem, was hier kurz dargelegt wird, sollen keine theoretisch-abstrakten Ansichten über die Rolle der Kirche bei der Förderung und Bewertung der „Massenmedien" in den Entwicklungsländern ausgebreitet werden, sondern es werden nur einige Punkte aus der Sicht der praktischen Erfahrung erörtert. (...) English The author offers short recommendations out of practice for the religious Press in developing countries. The existent publications should be kept if possible and be made independent by competent journalists. All developing countries should have a generally informing Catholic newspaper. The smaller perriodicals of the apostolate too play an important role according to the author. He also gives great importance to the relations with the secular Press. Where no Catholic paper can be edited regularly, there pamphlets are to be favoured. The autor is recommending modern, capable printing-offices. Formation of journalists - under clear contracts - shall create lay editors, being allowed to speak frankly and in own responsibility

L' Église catholique et la naissance des nouvelles nations en Afrique occidentale francophone

The Church readily hailed the birth of the new independent nations, but insisted at the start on the necessity of national unity and of the leaders' dévotion to the public weal ; they also displayed some anxiety regarding the setting up of the oneparty System. The stability of the ecclesiastical authorities gives a particular weight to their speech (declarations on development, social justice, fraternal union..). Citizen forming institutions were created (C.E.S.A.O. in Bobo-Dioulasso, I.N.A.D.E.S. in Abidjan, C.O.D.I. A. M. in Cotonou). L’hebdomadaire catholique dakarois Afrique nouvelle et la décolonisation de l’A.O.F.

Lorsque la Constitution élaborée par la 2e Assemblée nationale constituante met en place, en 1946, les nouvelles structures de l’Empire français, rebaptisé Union française, l’information est pratiquement inexistante en Afrique occidentale française (A.O.F.), si l’on excepte des bulletins édités par les services du gouvernement général (statistiques, mines, géologie, chemins de fer, etc.) et quelques publications paraissant irrégulièrement.
