The value creation model in integrated reporting : evidence from Poland
PURPOSE: The purpose of the paper is to identify and evaluate the approach and the quality of
disclosures on value creation in integrated reports published by Polish companies. The
article attempts to determine how practitioners understand and explain the concept of value
creation. The study examines the integrated reporting practice of Polish companies to
provide insight into the current status of value creation disclosures.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The quantitative and qualitative content analysis of value
creation model disclosures in integrated reporting was performed. The quality of disclosures
was assessed based on reports published by 31 capital groups between 2013-2021. A case
study analysis of value creation disclosures was conducted based on the reports published
for the year 2021, by 24 capital groups. The content analysis of integrated reports was
conducted according to the following areas: background (motivations, objectives,
beneficiaries, responsible persons, CEO’s commitment, reporting standards), assurance and
reliability (audit, verification, acknowledgments and awards), form of publishing, and
content elements (distinguishing organizational overview and external environment,
governance, business model, risks and opportunities, strategy and resource allocation,
performance, outlook, capitals, KPIs, value-creation process). The article uses the results of
literature studies on the subject, the results of previous research, and observations of
business practice in the area of integrated reporting.FINDINGS: The findings reveal a definitely diverse approach of companies to disclosures in
the field of value creation. In most cases, the value creation model is treated as a business
model, however, some companies present these two categories separately, devoting separate
chapters to both issues in integrated reports. Companies using the capital approach briefly
present individual capitals with a classic division into manufactured, social, natural,
intellectual, financial and human capital. The analysis also revealed a large variation in the
reporting of indicators describing the effectiveness of individual capitals. It can be observed
a subjective treatment of indicators and their incomplete reporting, as well as references to
GRI indicators. Hence, the quality of the information presented on value creation varies.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The results of the study complement the research gap of current
literature on value creation by presenting the practice of integrated reporting in Polish
companies.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The research presented in the article contributes to the current literature
on integrated reporting by using the novel dataset, identifying the level of value creation disclosures in the examined integrated reports, and is aimed at presenting a critical
interpretative perspective.peer-reviewe
Forward-looking disclosures in integrated reporting : evidence from Poland
PURPOSE: The purpose of the paper is to identify and evaluate forward-looking disclosures in
integrated reports published by Polish companies. The article uses the results of literature
studies on the subject, the results of previous research, and observations of business practice
in the area of integrated reporting.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The quantitative and qualitative content analysis of
forward-looking disclosures in integrated reporting was performed in order to assess the
current status of integrated reports prepared by Polish companies. The analysis covered 73
integrated reports prepared in the years 2016-2019.FINDINGS: The findings proved that most of the items of future disclosures has the nature of
qualitative narrations regarding strategy, information on growth opportunities, industry or
market risk, environmental risk, while less attention was paid to investment projects, product
research and development plans and financial risk; the analysis also indicated the level of
association between current company financial performance and the quality of forwardlooking disclosure of integrated reporting.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The results of the study complement the research gap of current
literature on integrated reporting and forward-looking disclosures in Polish practice.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The research presented in the article contributes to the current literature
on integrated reporting by identifying the level of forward-looking disclosures in the
examined integrated reports and is aimed at presenting a critical interpretative perspective.
The findings of the research may provide the basis for proposing the use of different tools
(such as management accounting tools e.g. balanced scorecard (BSC)) for the development
and presentation of forward-looking disclosures.peer-reviewe
Financial and non-financial information in the integrated report – the practice of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange
The main aim of the article is to attempt to classify the integrated report as a financial or non-financial report by analyzing its information content. The article also aims to determine how the form of the integrated report was changing and what relations existed between this type of report, the financial statement and the management report in 2013–2016. The research conclusions were based on analysis of integrated reports published by companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the years 2013–2016. Reports were collected from the websites of the surveyed companies. As part of the study, it was found that there was no uniform form and scope of this report, although results of the research confirmed that it was a report containing mainly non-financial information. Financial information occurred occasionally or did not occur at all. Additionally, it should be emphasized that most non-financial information is original information that only appears in this report
Budżetowanie działalności jednostek gospodarczych Teoria i praktyka. Część V
Z wprowadzenia: "Przekazujemy do rąk Czytelników część monografii dotyczącej budżetowania
jednostek gospodarczych. Jej przygotowanie zbiegło się z ukazaniem się manifestu
Precz z budżetami Jeremiego Норе’а i Robina Frasera. Autorzy poddają
tam ostrej krytyce dotychczasowe praktyki stosowania budżetowania kosztowego.
konferencyjne 2001], G. H. Świderska [Rachunkowośćzarządcza i rachunek kosztów,
2002]. Nie odnosiły one jednak skutku. Nie zauważono też dotąd narastającej
listy zarzutów wytaczanych przeciw finansowym jednostkom miary stosowanym
[„Controlling i rachunkowość zarządcza” 9/2002], gdzie jednoznacznie
w filozofii i metodologii budżetowania."(...
Integrated Reporting – A research review
W artykule objaśniono istotę i przyczyny wprowadzenia do praktyki sprawozdawczej raportowania zintegrowanego. Omówiono strukturę ramową i zasady sprawozdawczości zintegrowanej, a następnie dokonano przeglądu badań naukowych dotyczą-cych sprawozdawczości zintegrowanej. W artykule wykorzystano wyniki studiów literatury przedmiotu, wyniki wcześniejszych badań autorki, a także obserwacje praktyki gospodarczej w obszarze raportowania zintegrowanego. Jako podstawową metodę badawczą wykorzystano studia literaturowe. Zestawienie wyników badań nie daje jednoznacznych rezultatów co do tego, czy sprawozdawczość zintegrowana stanie się w przyszłości powszechną formą raportowania korporacyjnegoIntegrated Reporting emerged as a new reporting practice in 2013. Its primary aim was to enhance the effectiveness of communicating to external stakeholders information on how value is created by organizations. Adoption of integrated reporting was also expected to solve a number of problems encountered when producing the traditional financial reports, and in particular – to eliminate the financial statements' inability to identify and include all sources of value creation within an organization, the interrelations between sustainability and financial performance and the absence of communicating the information on the organization's business model.
The purpose of this article is to review the research on the subject of integrated reporting and an attempt at answering the question regarding the future of integrated reporting. The article discusses the key elements and the reasons why integrated reporting has been introduced into reporting practice. First, the article discusses the framework structure and principles of integrated reporting, and then it proceeds to presentation of a review of selected academic research pertaining to integrated reporting. The article draws on the results of the literature studies on the subject, the results of earlier research work completed by the author, as well as on the observations of the business practice in the field of integrated reporting. The summary of the research results does not provide any explicit conclusion on whether integrated reporting is to become a commonly accepted corporate reporting practice in the future

Prezentacja innych dochodów całkowitych w sprawozdaniach finansowych wybranych spółek publicznych w Polsce w latach 2009–2011
Inne całkowite dochody to nowa kategoria ekonomiczna, dopiero testowana w praktyce gospodarczej.
Business model in the organizations' reporting - a research paper
latach przyciąga coraz większą uwagę w odniesieniu zarówno do sprawozdawczości
przedsiębiorstw o charakterze finansowym, jak i niefinansowym. „Model biznesowy”
sprawozdawczości organizacji i podstawowy (kluczowy) element treści raportowania
zintegrowanego. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie poglądów i opinii
na temat ujawniania modelu biznesu (business model disclosure) w sprawozdawczości
organizacji – finansowej i niefinansowej. W artykule wykorzystano wyniki studiów literaturowych,
przytoczono wyniki badań autorów polskich i zagranicznych, dotyczące
aspektów teoretycznych oraz praktycznych związanych z modelem biznesu. Metody
badawcze wykorzystane w artykule to studia literatury przedmiotu, analiza regulacji
prawnych i analiza treści publikacji korporacyjnych.Business model is undoubtedly a new issue in the accounting research studies;
however, it has already become extremely popular, attracting a growing attention in
recent years, with regard to the corporate reporting, both financial and non-financial. The
interest in the business model in the accounting literature and in the business practice has
increased concurrently with the development of the discussion on the importance of non-
-financial information in corporate reporting. “The Business Model” was indicated by
the IIRC as one of the main themes for the future orientation of the reporting by organizations
and the essential element of an integrated report contents. This article aims at
a presentation of the views and opinions formed on the business model disclosure in the
organization’s financial and non-financial reporting. The article uses the results of the
literature studies, quoting the findings of the Polish and foreign researchers, referring to
both theoretical and practical aspects associated with the business model
Sprawozdawczy wymiar rachunku wyników w warunkach globalnego rynku
