Coherent Control of Photoelectron Wavepacket Angular Interferograms
Coherent control over photoelectron wavepackets, via the use of
polarization-shaped laser pulses, can be understood as a time and
polarization-multiplexed process. In this work, we investigate this
multiplexing via computation of the observable photoelectron angular
interferograms resulting from multi-photon atomic ionization with
polarization-shaped laser pulses. We consider the polarization sensitivity of
both the instantaneous and cumulative continuum wavefunction; the nature of the
coherent control over the resultant photoelectron interferogram is thus
explored in detail. Based on this understanding, the use of coherent control
with polarization-shaped pulses as a methodology for a highly multiplexed
coherent quantum metrology is also investigated, and defined in terms of the

The positive impact of irrational beliefs?: A mutual connection with justice sensitivity
Rational-Emotive-Behavior Therapy (REBT, Ellis, 1962, 1994) postulates that irrational thinking implies demanding thoughts about punishing people for their evil activities. Hence, irrational thinking should be associated with increased individual sensitivity concerning unfair social
events. Results of our study (N = 108) confirm this hypothesized correlation between Irrationality and Justice Sensitivity. Notably, the strongest correlation was found between low frustration tolerance, a subdimension of irrationality, and justice sensitivity from the perspective of a victim. This indicates that easily frustrated individuals are particularly prone to suffer when being treated unfairly and are, therefore, eminently susceptive to justice sensitivity
Femtosecond real-time probing of reactions. XI. The elementary OClO fragmentation
Femtosecond reaction dynamics of OClO in a supersonic molecular beam are reported. The system is excited to the A 2A2 state with a femtosecond pulse, covering a range of excitation in the symmetric stretch between v1=17 to v1=11 (308–352 nm). A time-delayed femtosecond probe pulse ionizes the OClO, and OClO + is detected. This ion has not been observed in previous experiments because of its ultrafast fragmentation. Transients are reported for the mass of the parent OClO as well as the mass of the ClO. Apparent biexponential decays are observed and related to the fragmentation dynamics: OClO+hnu-->(OClO)[double-dagger]*-->ClO+O -->Cl+O2 . Clusters of OClO with water (OClO)n (H2O)m with n from 1 to 3 and m from 0 to 3 are also observed. The dynamics of the fragmentation reveal the nuclear motions and the electronic coupling between surfaces. The time scale for bond breakage is in the range of 300–500 fs, depending on v1; surface crossing to form new intermediates is a pathway for the two channels of fragmentation: ClO+O (primary) and Cl+O2 (minor). International Cooperation on Trade and Labor Issues
The relationship between the labor market and international trade is a broad and complex subject that has been the focus of significant attention in recent years. Discussion and analysis in this area has covered a number of discrete issues, including the effect of shifting trade patterns on employment levels and earnings in domestic markets, the impact of wage levels and labor legislation on the location of production facilities, and the positive and negative aspects of the cross-border movement of workers, among others. The continuing importance of labor issues within the larger trade debate is highlighted by the inclusion of measures relating to labor standards and/or the cross-border movement of workers in recent bilateral and multilateral trade agreements such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), and the U.S.–Oman Free Trade Agreement. This paper aims to provide background for future work on trade-related labor issues by describing how labor issues such as internationally recognized labor standards and the cross-border movement of workers have been addressed by international organizations, as well as in U.S. trade legislation and recent trade agreements
