    Abstrak: Sebagai sebuah system, pendidikan terdiri dari beberapa unsur, yaitu pendidik, anak didik, tujuan, kurikulum (materi), metode, media, evaluasi, dan lingkungan. Kurikulum sebagai unsur pendidikan yang sangat penting selain pendidik, dan anak didik.Dalam arti sempit, kurikulum dikatakan sebagai sejumlah mata pelajaran/kuliah yang harus ditempuh seorang anak didik/mahasiswa. Seorang anak didik/mahasiswa tidak dapat menyelesaikan pendidikan di sebuah institusi pendidik tertentu, kalau dia belum lulus atau menyelesaikan semua mata pelajaran/kuliah yang sudah ditetapkan.Agar seorang anak didik/mahasiswa memiliki wawasan yang luas, dia harus banyak membaca buku, khsusnya yang menjadi buku referensi. Buku-buku ini selain dijual di toko-toko buku, juga tersedia di perpustakaan. Seorang anak didik/mahasiswa akan beruapaya mencari topik-topik yang ditentukan di buku-buku yang diperlukan. Karena itu, tidak jarang, seorang anak didik/mahasiswa berjam-jam, bahkan berhari-hari menelaah buku di rumah atau di perpustakaan.Kehadiran teknologi komunikasi semakin mempermudah aktivitas manusia dalam hal komunikasi dan segala sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan interaksi antar manusia.     Organisasi Muhammadiyah merupakan wadah sosial Islam tertua dan terbesar di Indonesia yang bergerak dalam bidang sosial kemasyarkatan yang bercirikan Islam. Organisasi ini mencurahkan kegiatan pada usaha-usaha pendidikan dan kesejahteraan dan dalam program dakwah guna melawan agama Kristen dan ketakhayulan-ketakhayulan lokal. Dalam usahanya memurnikan pengamalan ajaran Islam (purifikasi) sekaligus mengangkat kehidupan umat, Muhammadiyah lebih berani menerapkan sistem modern.Di Kalimantan Selatan, Muhammadiyah berdiri secara resmi pada tahun 1925 di Alabio. Kehadiran Muhammadiyah di Alabio diikuti dengan pendirian Sekolah Muhammadiyah pada tahun 1926. Sejak itu, Sekolah Muhammadiyah bermunculan bersamaan dengan lahirnya Cabang Muhammadiyah di seluruh Kalimantan Selatan. Sampai saat ini, Pimpinan Daerah dan Pimpinan Cabang Muhammadiyah telah berdiri di semua kabupaten/kota di Kalimantan Selatan.     Typical Research-Based Learning Approach in Improving Al-Quran Interpretation in Higher Education

    This review was review the typical research-based learning (RBL) approach in conducting surface interpretation in higher education. We believe the RBL approach is applied in general sciences and may be used in learning the Alquran room as a tool to understand specific lesson contexts. Therefore, we have reviewed many data sources from different databases searching electronically. The sources are publications for academic works such as journals, books, and websites. We analyzed that literature using a simple review approach such as coding system, interpretation, and taking conclusion to answer the question validly. After discussing the result, we may conclude that learning took by using multiple resources of the Koran that served in many different materials, texts, audio, to understand the meaning and relevance, questions, and even challenging text. Students organize, evaluate, and synthesize information and ideas as they construct the Qur’an text and signs.     Students are a component of the education system. It will not be called education if the student is not in it. To succeed in education (learning), many conditions must be considered; one of which is ethics or manners. In the context of Islamic education, ethics or manners for a student is very important. It is difficult for a student to succeed in education if he is not ethical or civilized.  Even if he succeeded in education or in learning, then his knowledge was not a blessing or not useful for others or a cause of destruction for himself. This paper aims to describe the ethics of a student who is learning according to the perspective of a religious figure so that he is successful in his learning. This paper used documentary techniques. The data of this paper obtained from the recordings of lectures delivered by Kiai Haji Muhammad Zaini during his lifetime and juxtaposed with the book read by him. Student ethics according to Kiai Hajj Muhammad Zaini is that a student should always expect and ask his teacher to always pray for him, use the time for useful activities, repeat lessons at home and ask back to the teacher related lessons that are still vague for him, clean the intention when looking for knowledge that is only because of Allah SWT, revive religion, keep the Islamic shari'a in order to remain there, intend the knowledge gained will be practiced, always do good deeds and adorn themselves with praiseworthy qualities, get used to getting up at night to worship Allah and ask Allah in order to give him useful knowledge and other virtues, respect his teacher zahir (external) and bathin (inner), not make friends or be close with people who are not in good morals (immoral perpetrators and other deeds), do not use the knowledge they get to debate or pilgrimage, always trying to be close to Allah SWT, accustom to ablution before learning, always reading the Qur'an, always correcting the five senses of sin in order to quickly understand the science of religion

    Ilmu dan Islam: Mengurai Konsep dan Sumber Ilmu dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadis

    This study aims to explore the meaning or concept of the word “knowledge” often mentioned in the Quran and Hadith. The first step was by taking an inventory of the verses that talk about knowledge and then categorizing them thematically. The data obtained were then analyzed with the descriptive-analytical method. It resulted in three findings. First, the verses related to knowledge in the Quran and Hadith are still general and need interpretation to understand the essential meaning related to the definition or nature of knowledge conceptually. Second, there are three components in acquiring knowledge, namely the senses, reason, and inspiration. Third, interpretation gives birth to different opinions on the sources of knowledge, especially between Al-Ghazali and his rivals.     This article discusses the interpretation of wasathiyyah verses in QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 143 from several classical, modern, and contemporary mufassir added with a study of the concept of wasathiyyah in the Qur'an. The interpretation of wasathiyyah then looks at the implications for practising religious moderation in Indonesia, where some parties are socializing. The method used in this study is a literature study of tafsir literature and analyzing it comparatively Religious moderation based on the concept of wasathiyyah  As has been explained by some mufassir and researchers show that Quranic moderation refers to the character of fairness, balance, balance, choosing the best, the most beautiful, and above all, having a high position, consistency or istiqamah, accuracy, and with that character the Muslim community becomes an example for other societies. The concept of religious moderation socialized in Indonesia has contained various characters mentioned by several mufassir and Qur'an scholars and can be enriched again with several other characters to enhance further and complement the existing wasathiyyah characters. These various wasathiyyah characters need to be socialized and cultured through various channels to become part of the religious tradition of Muslims in Indonesia.Artikel ini membahas tentang tafsir ayat wasathiyyah pada QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 143 dari sejumlah mufassir baik klasik, modern, maupun kontemporer ditambah dengan pengkaji konsep wasathiyyah dalam Al-Quran. Interpretasi terhadap wasathiyyah tersebut kemudian dilihat implikasinya terhadap praktik moderasi beragama di Indonesia yang tengah disosialisasikan oleh sejumlah pihak. Moderasi beragama yang berbasis pada konsep wasathiyyah sebagaimana yang telah dijelaskan oleh sejumlah mufassir dan peneliti menunjukkan bahwa moderasi Qurani merujuk pada karakter adil, seimbang, setimbang, memilih yang terbaik, yang terindah, dan yang paling utama, memiliki posisi yang tinggi, konsistensi atau istiqamah, ketepatan, dan dengan karakter itu masyarakat muslim menjadi ummat teladan bagi masyarakat lainnya.  Konsep moderasi beragama yang telah disosialisasikan di Indonesia telah mengandung berbagai karakter yang disebutkan oleh sejumlah mufassir dan pengkaji Al-Qur`an dan dapat diperkaya lagi dengan sejumlah karakter lainnya untuk lebih menyempurnakan dan melengkapi karakter-karakter wasathiyyah yang ada. Berbagai karakter wasathiyyah tersebut perlu disosialisasikan dan dibudayakan melalui berbagai saluran agar ia menjadi bagian dari tradisi beragama umat Islam di Indonesia

    Al Ghazāli’s Thoughts on Islamic Education Curriculum

    Al Ghazali lived in the Islamic golden age when all the fields of education flourished. There have been many studies of al-Ghazali's thoughts, yet, further and deeper examination from various perspective is needed to get objective and actual thoughts of Al-Ghazali. In al Ghazali’s time, there was no term of curriculum, however, the concept emerged as an accumulation of previous thoughts about the curriculum. The objective of this research is to study about al Ghazali's thoughts on the curriculum of Islamic education based on the series of curricula before al-Ghazali which eventually distinguish this study from others. This library research relies on written materials from the works of al Ghazali and others related to this topic.  The data were collected using documentary technique and analyzed using content analysis method. In conclusion, Al-Ghazali’s curriculum is similar to the concept of holistic education which is characterized by intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual developments. The curriculum also covers the dimension of development and it is beneficial for individual and society to make people closer to Allah SWT
