Squeezed States and Particle Production in High Energy Collisions
Using the `quantum optical approach' we propose a model of multiplicity
distributions in high energy collisions based on squeezed coherent states.
We show that the k-mode squeezed coherent state is the most general one in
describing hadronic mulitiplicity distributions in particle collision
processes, describing not only collisions but ,
and diffractive collisions as well.
The reason for this phenomenological fit has been gained by working out a
microscopic theory in which the squeezed coherent sources arise naturally if
one considers the Lorentz squeezing of hadrons and works in the covariant phase
space formalism .Comment: 7 pages, 4 Figures (can be obtained from author by snail mail
AIDS Awareness Interventions for Women: The Role of Voluntary Organizations in the Secunderabad and Hyderabad Region of Southwestern India
In this paper, we examine the role of Voluntary organizations (VO’s) in combating the incidence of HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases among Female Sex Workers in Hyderabad and Secundrabad. These are twin cities in the newly formed state of Telangana state in the southwestern region of India, called the Deccan Plateau. We trace the evolution of VO’s towards becoming agents of information and prevention of AIDS in the region. Our focus is on how VOs’ interventions impact the prevention of HIV among female sex workers. The activities that contribute towards this aim are sexual health, counseling, medication and continuous health follow-ups. Using purposive sampling methods, we analyze the data quantitatively and qualitatively with the help of case studies with intersectional feminist theory
Degeneracy resolution capabilities of NOA and DUNE in the presence of light sterile neutrino
We investigate the implications of a sterile neutrino on the physics
potential of the proposed experiment DUNE and future runs of NOA using
latest NOA results. Using combined analysis of the disappearance and
appearance data, NOA reported preferred solutions at normal hierarchy (NH)
with two degenerate best-fit points one in the lower octant (LO) and
= 1.48 and other in higher octant (HO) and =
0.74. Another solution of inverted hierarchy (IH) which is 0.46
away from best fit was also reported. We discuss chances of resolving these
degeneracies in the presence of sterile neutrino.Comment: 16 pages 5 figures,Updated for the journa
