Sandhigatavata is the most common joint disorder worldwide. Sandhigatavata is a Vatavyadhi affecting people in the Vardhakyaavastha. The disease is characterized by Dhatukshaya and Lakshanas reflective of vitiated Vata. Therefore, the agents / therapies which are Vatahara, Shoolahara and Stambhahara properties should be advised in this disease. The study is focused on rectification of vitiated Vayu by Agnikarma and internal medication which helps to subside the Rooksha and Sheetaguna of Vata. Objectives: The study is aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Indigenous drugs (Indravaruni, Pippaali with Jaggery) in the management of Janusandhigatavata and to compare the effects of Agnikarma and Indigenous drugs in management of Janusandhigatavata. Method: The present study is ‘Comparative clinical trial’. Study was done in two groups. In this study, Agnikarma received group of patients were compared with orally treated group of patients. Result: Comparatively both the groups have almost same significance in the parameters. In terms of two parameters especially in pain and range of movements, Agnikarma treated patients showed very good result. Interpretation: On the basis of the results of both the groups it was observed that, both the groups have almost same significance in the parameters. But Group-B shows more net mean effect and long lasting effect even in follow-up period. With respect to the parameters in pain and in range of movements, Agnikarma treated patients showed very good response. Conclusion: Agnikarma was found very effective in the management of Janusandhigatavata

In today’s society, robots are used in various areas especially in those where high precision is required. Robots have improved life standards and we are upgrading their performances in order to make our lives easier and more comfortable. Many applications in the field of medicine and industry use different kind of motor-based systems such as robots because of their wide-range of sufficient characteristics like the fact that they can be used as constant power devices with accurate positioning and fast response. This project describes implementation of the proposed control of the stepper motor and robotic arm by development of suitable transfer function. In this work a motorized robot arm with a 3 degree of freedom is designed. For this design control algorithm will be developed using MATLAB software which is widely used in controlling application

Testing General Relativity with X-ray reflection spectroscopy: The Konoplya-Rezzolla-Zhidenko parametrization

X-ray reflection spectroscopy is a promising technique for testing general relativity in the strong field regime, as it can be used to test the Kerr black hole hypothesis. In this context, the parametrically deformed black hole metrics proposed by Konoplya, Rezzolla \& Zhidenko (Phys. Rev. D93, 064015, 2016) form an important class of non-Kerr black holes. We implement this class of black hole metrics in \textsc{relxill\_nk}, which is a framework we have developed for testing for non-Kerr black holes using X-ray reflection spectroscopy. We perform a qualitative analysis of the effect of the leading order strong-field deformation parameters on typical observables like the innermost stable circular orbits and the reflection spectra. We also present the first X-ray constraints on some of the deformation parameters of this metric, using \textit{Suzaku} data from the supermassive black hole in Ark~564, and compare them with those obtained (or expected) from other observational techniques like gravitational waves and black hole imaging.Comment: Minor updates. MicroRNAs: Role in hepatitis C virus pathogenesis

    Get PDF
AbstractHepatitis C virus (HCV) is a global health burden with an estimated 170–200 million peoples chronically infected worldwide. HCV infection remains as an independent risk factor for chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and a major reason for liver transplantation. Discovery of direct acting antiviral (DAA) drugs have shown promising results with more than 90% success rate in clearing the HCV RNA in patients, although long-term consequences remain to be evaluated. microRNAs (miRNAs) are important players in establishment of HCV infection and target crucial host cellular factors needed for productive HCV replication and augmented cell growth. Altered expression of miRNAs is involved in the pathogenesis associated with HCV infection by controlling signaling pathways such as immune response, proliferation and apoptosis. miRNA is emerging as a means of communication between various cell types inside the liver. There is likely possibility of developing circulating miRNAs as biomarkers of disease progression and can also serve as diagnostic tool with potential of early therapeutic intervention in HCV associated end stage liver disease. This review focuses on recent studies highlighting the contribution of miRNAs in HCV life cycle and their coordinated regulation in HCV mediated liver disease progression

Let SE=(StE)t≥0\mathscr{S}^\mathcal{E}=(S_t^\mathcal{E})_{t\ge 0} on L2(R+,E)L^2(\mathbb{R}_+,\mathcal{E}) be the right shift semigroup for a separable Hilbert space E\mathcal{E}. Let V1=(V1,t)t≥0\mathscr{V}_1 = (V_{1,t})_{t\ge 0} and V2=(V2,t)t≥0\mathscr{V}_2 = (V_{2,t})_{t\ge 0} be a pair of semigroups of contractions which satisfy V1,tV2,s=V2,sV1,tV_{1,t}V_{2,s} = V_{2,s}V_{1,t} and StE=V1,tV2,tS^\mathcal{E}_t=V_{1,t} V_{2,t} for every s,t≥0s,t \ge 0. Such a pair is called a factorization of SE\mathscr{S}^\mathcal{E}. The main result of this note completely describes all factorizations of SE\mathscr{S}^\mathcal{E} when E\mathcal{E} is finite dimensional. Using the known fact that SE\mathscr{S}^\mathcal{E} is unitarily equivalent to a semigroup of multiplication operators on the vector valued Hardy space HD2(E)H^2_\mathbb{D}(\mathcal{E}), we employ novel function theoretic methods and classical convex analysis to arrive at the factorization

Background: To compare study of dexmedetomidine versus clonidine in epidural anesthesia to assess the level of sedation in patients undergoing lower abdominal and lower limb surgery. Methods: This was a comparative study conducted on admitted ASA grade I and II patients undergoing lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries. The patients were divided into three groups of 30 patients each, according to the epidural medication they received:-Group A-received 15ml of bupivacaine (0.5%) and dexmedetomidine (1.0µg/kg body weight) in 1ml of normal saline; Group B-received 15ml of bupivacaine (0.5%) and clonidine (2.0µg/kg body weight) in 1ml of normal saline; Group C-received 15ml of bupivacaine (0.5%) with 1ml of normal saline. The heart rate, blood pressure, sensory dermatome level, Motor blocked level, pain and VAS were recorded at different time intervals. The side effects were also noted. Results: The baseline parameters were comparable among the groups. All the hemodynamic parameters and other study parameters were similar at Min. 0. All the hemodynamic parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure and SpO2 were variable at different time intervals. Motor block level   was significantly (p<0.05) lower in Group C than Group A and Group B from Min 50 to Min 90. The sedation score was observed to be nil in Group C. The post-op pain score became higher in Group C than Group A and Group B at subsequent time intervals. A 3 (10%) of the rescue agents was observed in Group C. Atropine (30%) and mephenteramine (10%) were common rescue agents in Group B. The bradycardia was observed in 30% patients of Group B and in 40% of Group A.Conclusions: On addition of dexmedetomidine as adjuvant to bupivacaine in epidural anesthesia provides better anesthesia and sedation than clonidine as adjuvant to bupivacaine or bupivacaine alone with mild hemodynamic changes which are easily manageable

Efficient Data Transfer Over Wireless Networks

    Get PDF
In the present day, efficiency in the field of communication is of utmost importance. In this study, data is transmitted over a wireless network supported by helical antennas. The efficiency is obtained by encoding the data by the Reed Solomon (RS) encoding scheme. The added advantage of this encoding scheme is its error detection and correction scheme in addition to the productive bandwidth usage. The data is encoded from the source and will be modulated using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) scheme. The modulated data is then transmitted over a wireless network supported by the helical antenna. In the receiving end, the received signal is demodulated and then decoded. In this study, errors are introduced by the user to demonstrate the error detecting and correcting capabilities. The entire set up is simulated on the MATLAB version 9.5b 2018 software
