Sheep Camp Creek Low-water Crossing Redesign
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) owns a biohabitat restoration site in Sunol, California titled the Sheep Camp Creek Biohabitat Restoration Site. The goal of this site is to provide habitat to endangered species and improve the environmental benefits of the area. The site is split in half by the main basin stream, which was sectioned-off as part of the restoration efforts. Three cattle crossings are still present on-site, however, to facilitate travel between either side of the site. The most downstream crossing present on-site, however, has seen detrimental erosive effects as a result of major storms that have caused the need for replacement three times in the past decade. This project conducted a hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of the site to determine the best crossing solution for the site at this location. The project included a point-precipitation model to provide basin-wide hydrologic information to the SFPUC, as well as existing and proposed conditions hydraulic models developed in HEC-RAS to view hydraulic effects of different crossing solutions. Finally, cost estimates and life cycle analyses were prepared for each solution. These results were then presented to the SFPUC for their review to aid future planning decisions
Post-Series Design: a tool for catalysing the diffusion of personalisable design.
Today a range of increasingly mainstream Digital Fabrication tools help designers not only in prototyping, but also in the production of final parts for consumer products. These hardware tools, while still have significant limitations, they already offer new levels of morphological freedom and logistical flexibility, which allows the efficient production of personalisable products – supposing advanced software tools of Parametric Design. However, since DF, PD and personalisation are still marginal, one may suspect that the Design profession has a shortage of adequate capabilities. Therefore, this contribution proposes a conceptual tool focused on valorising the previous hardware and software tools to achieve meaningfully personalisable products. The proposed canvas tool is structured specifically to facilitate opportunity identification and conceptual design, based on a set of key advantages (variabilities) derived from numerous case studies of existing personalisable products realised with DF. The new approach and tool have been experimented with a class of product design students, but it also aims to facilitate product development at enterprises, coherently with the emerging Industry 4.0 paradigm

THE BRONX COCKED BACK AND SMOKING MULTIFARIOUS PROSE PERFORMANCE
The Bronx Cocked Back And Smoking is a collection of multifarious prose performances recounting the historical, personal, social, political and cultural constructs of a city birthed by violence. This body of work is accompanied by video, audio, photography, and theatre performance texts. St. Mary’s Housing project, in the Bronx, is the foundation where most of this literary work takes place. The modern day Griot (storyteller) is a Poet, guiding his audience through the social inequalities and disparities that plague St. Mary’s community. The Poet shares personal traumatic insights while simultaneously utilizing writing as a form of survival to the conditions of the Bronx. This multi-platform performance highlights the metaphorical and physical concerns with the cycle of violence. This question is answered through the Poet’s choice by selecting the pen over the gun
A Method to estimate Grape Phenolic Maturity based on Color Features
The phenolic ripeness of the grape is one of the most important parameters to determine the optimal time for harvest. A recent line of studies proposes visual seed inspection by a trained expert to determine Phenolic Maturity. In this paper a innovative method to estimate the Grape Phenolic Maturity based in digital images is presented. Three classes of seed are de ned (immature, mature and overmature) by the expert (enologist) involved in the research. A robust method of segmentation was proposed. The classi cation of seeds according to their degree of maturity was performed by a Arti cial Neural Network. Descriptor used by the Neural Networks corresponds to a histogram of the occur- rence of colors in a color scale. The method as a whole proved to be simple and e ffective in the classi ffication of seeds. Therefore, it is possible to visualize the implementation of the method in real conditions due the high performance obtained.

This research introduces the technical analysis of the behavior of a photovoltaic system when variations in the incident radiation of the panel and the connected load are present. The system behavior is visualized by the characteristic curves obtained from the analysis.
The implementation of a training module in the laboratory of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Cotopaxi will allow students to complement the knowledge acquired in classroom about solar power and solar module with variations.
Deterministic and Probabilistic Earthquake Scenarios for the Seismic Risk Analysis of URM Buildings
Barcelona, as well as a large number of cities in the Mediterranean basin, has a housing stock composed of a large number of unreinforced brick masonry buildings. Motivated by different factors, the enlargement of the city (Eixample in Catalan) was held from the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, a period in which a large number of buildings of this type were built, many of which are still used as dwellings. Although the buildings were built individually, some of them are linked to adjacent buildings by the side walls. This feature leads to the analysis of the buildings as isolated structures and also as an aggregate. Barcelona is located in a seismic region of low to moderate hazard, with macroseismic intensity between the grades VI and VII of the European macroseismic scale EMS'98. Based on the deterministic and probabilistic response spectra for the different types of soils present in Barcelona obtained in the work of Irizarry (2004), the seismic risk of four individual buildings and an aggregate is evaluated. The buildings are modeled and analyzed using the TREMURI program and MATLAB routines under the guidance of RISK-UE project
