    ISSN Registration Services in Indonesia: Problems and Solutions

    An ISSN is a number that functions as the identity of a periodical. ISSN registration services in Indonesia are provided through the Indonesian Institute of Sciences. This study aims to determine the inhibiting factors during the ISSN application process in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection through in-depth interviews with ISSN service officers and journal managers was conducted at the end of 2019 and early 2020 to obtain information about ISSN registration in previous years. The results of the study concluded that the ISSN registration process did not run smoothly. There was an ISSN registration process that took a long time and was not completed. The contributing factors were: unsuccessful form filling; the ISSN application file attached does not meet the requirements; internet network disturbance; failed to upload the requirements file; the ISSN system cannot be accessed; wrong or lost user id and password to enter the ISSN system; the ISSN service telephone line is not connected or no one is picking up the phone; ISSN service officers or ISSN registrants do not open communication messages submitted by either party, either from the communication box feature in the ISSN system or incoming messages in email

    This study aims to determine the benefits of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technology applied to libraries in the Z generation era. The research method used study of literature by collecting several reference as sources that are relevant to the study material and and interviews with several generation Z informants. The results of the study found that the implementation of Augmented Reality technology can be used to create and read the Interactive Opac Brochure with AR; Utilization of Library Collection Display; Utilization for Searching Library Collections in Shelves through AR; Utilization for Interactive Learning Media for Users. While the implementation of Virtual Reality technology can be used for tours or library tours; Library Services; Information Literacy and Online Catalog.

    EVALUASI KEPUASAN PELANGGAN PADA JASA PERPUSTAKAAN DAN ISSN PDII-LIPI

    The purposes of this study are: (a) determine the level of customer satisfaction in library and ISSN services; (b) determine customers feedback in improving the quality of library and ISSN services. Type of data this study is quantitative. Data were collected by distributing Survei Kepuasan Masyarakat (SKM) questionnaires. There are nine indicators in SKM: (1) compliance with the service requirements; (2) easy of servicing procedures; (3) the timeliness of service; (4) the suitability of the service charge; (5) product assurance services; (6) the competence of service personnel; (7) the behavior of the service personnel; (8) clear intimation of service; and (9) the handling of complaints, suggestions, and feedback of services. SKM questionnaire distributed to 60 respondents who have received services from the concierge of library and ISSN service. The data are interpreted with a frequency distribution table. Each indicator item in SKM has processed by the value/score of the class interval system. Results of this study indicated that the information service on library and ISSN are satisfactory of customer. The results based on customer survey uses nine indicators of SKM. Most respondents who become customers of the library and ISSN feel satisfied, the number of 43 respondents (71,7%) said they were satisfied and 11 respondents (18,3%) expressed great satisfaction with the services. If viewed from the service unit, there are 25 respondents (83,33%) as a subscribers of library services and 18 respondents (60%) as a ISSN customers whose are satisfied with the those services. However, despite on the results of SKM had been satisfaction, the institution must be to improve the quality system of services ongoing basis. This is done to reduce or eliminate various forms of complaints from customers

    WHATSAPP SEBAGAI MEDIA KOMUNIKASI: Studi Fenomenologi Motif Pengaturan Privasi Chatting Pengguna Whatsapp dalam Komunikasi Antarpribadi

    The use of WhatsApp as media of communication is expected to facilitate people in doing remote interaction between person and community. Every people can set a privacy of chat on WhatsApp. However, people have several perceptions on it because it can be a symbol which has certain meaning. There are some people who are intentionally activate the privacy settings and some do not. Communication is established whether it remains effective or is hampered by chat privacy settings because someone cannot find out their online status, read messages or not. The purpose of this study is to determine the motives of privacy settings for whatsapp user chat in interpersonal communication. The study uses qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection is conducted through interviews with 13 whatsapp users who activated the chat privacy feature. It is taken from whatsapp researchers' friend contact. The results of the study on the motives of whatsapp chat privacy settings produce 2 main concepts, first is privacy (personal) which has 4 sub concepts (free, does not want others to be disappointed, so that others do not wait for an immediate answer, and important matters), and those second is work that has 2 sub concepts (business activities and office affairs)

    Pengelolaan Terbitan Berkala Ilmiah Sesuai Ketentuan Akreditasi: Upaya Menuju Jurnal Trakreditasi Dan Bereputasi Internasional

    Journal accreditation program aims to improve the quality and quantity of publications in the scientific community so as to competitiveness on the international scientific periodicals. This study aims to: (1) describe the journals that have been accredited by LIPI and Higher Education, which is viewed from the aspect field of science, the agency issuing, and the city of an issue; and 2) know the effort in preparing for publication journal managers become accredited and reputable international journals. Data sourced from literature studies, in the form of regulatory documents, articles, papers and presentations related to the accreditation of scientific periodicals. The data were analyzed descriptively. The conclusion of this study, namely: (1) 362 accredited journals, from LIPI total of 190 journals and 172 journals a number of Higher Education; the number of accredited journals is considered still relatively very small (only about 5.17%) when compared to the total number of indexed journals Indonesia ISJD (about 7000 journals); (2) accredited journals LIPI and DIKTI mostly from the city of Jakarta (of 113 journals, or 31.22%) to the science of Agriculture Veterinary Medicine and the Environment (43 accredited journals LIPI) and the health sector (34 accredited journal Higher Education); (3) the agency issuing the journal mostly from ministries agencies (134 journals or 70.53%) and university (99 journals or 57.56%); and (4) journal managers should immediately publish the journal in electronic version by paying attention to scientific principles in order to get the title of accredited and reputable international journals.Keywoords : Journal, Journal acreditation, International Journal, Open Jounrnal System, LIPI, DIKT

    Bibliometrics and Citation Analysis of “BACA: Jurnal Dokumentasi dan Informasi” Published During 2015-2019

    This study aims to know deeply about BACA: Documentation and Information Journal published during 2015-2019. The aspects of the study are the distribution of articles, number of pages, authorship patterns, citation numbers, and form of visualization. This bibliometric research obtained data in http://jurnalbaca.pdii.lipi.go.id, which was then processed and analyzed using Ms. Excel, Publish or Perish (PoP) and VOSviewer application. The study showed that this journal has a frequency of publication 2 times a year (June and December) and has published 71 articles during 2015-2019, with 30 single authors (42.25%) and 41 collaborative authors (57.75). The number of writers who contributed during the period was 146 people both single and collaborative, and in 2019 there were 20 article titles with the largest number of authors 46 people (31.51%). Distribution of articles based on publication numbers during the period, namely issue 1 (June) published as many as 34 articles (47.89%) and issue 2 (December) published as many as 37 articles (52.11%) with a total of 975 pages with an average of 11-15 pages. This journal has 30 citations, an annual citation 6.00, a written citation 0.42, h-index 2, g-index 2, hI, norm 2, and hla 0.40. The strength of the network between the authors and the frequency of collaboration can be seen in VosViewer’s visualization

    Pustakawan dituntut untuk senantiasa meningkatkan kompetensi dan profesionalisme dalam melaksanakan tugas dan fungsinya. Hal tersebut dimaksudkan agar pustakawan dapat berkompetisi dan berkolaborasi dengan profesi informasi yang lain, khususnya untuk memajukan dunia kepustakawanan. Kompetensi dan profesionalisme menjadi hal terpenting bagi pustakawan di perpustakaan khusus dalam menjaga dan meningkatkan eksistensi mereka di lingkungan pekerjaannya. Dengan kompetensi yang memadai dan bekerja secara profesional, citra pustakawan dapat diubah menjadi lebih baik karena selama ini masyarakat masih menganggap pustakawan hanya sebagai tenaga teknis dan administrasi perpustakaan. Melalui peningkatan kompetensi dan profesionalisme, pustakawan dapat meningkatkan derajatnya sebagai tenaga profesional perpustakaan yang mampu berperan aktif dalam setiap aktivitas lembaga induknya. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut, diperlukan beberapa strategi yang tepat, yaitu (1) meningkatkan kinerja secara berkesinambungan, (2) membangun komunikasi internal secara efektif, (3) menggagas ide-ide inovatif perpustakaan, (4) mengikuti program sertifikasi pustakawan, dan (5) melakukan pengembangan karier profesional

    Scientific journals will be useful if they have any scientific impact for the scientific field, one of the way to know is through citation. The more writers cite articles, the greater the benefits of the article. This study aims to determine the development of Journal of Information & Library Study (JKIP) which has been published since 2013, citation analysis, including the distribution of articles annually, authorship patterns, the highest number of citations and visualization forms. The method used is bibliometric analysis, by collecting the data sourced from the http://jurnal.unpad.ac.id/jkip page, the data is processed and analyzed using Ms. Excel, Publish or Perish Application (PoP) and VOSviewer. The results of the study concluded that JKIP published 2 times in a year and had published 111 articles during 2013-2019, with the number of collaborative authors (71.2%) more than a single author (28.8%). All publications have more than 101 pages. JKIP has a citation number of 190 and the highest for one article title has 9 citations. The visualization can be seen to find out the frequency of collaboration and strengthening of networks between writers

    Bibliometric analysis of research trends on disability in Indonesia

    Indonesian people have a unique perception of understanding the concept of disability. Researchers use various terminologies to address topics of disabilities in their published studies. There is no national roadmap for disability research that may integrate and guide studies on the subject. This study investigated scientific outputs made by academics researching disabilities topics in Indonesia. Publications on topics of disabilities it found 3,220 publications, indexed in the national indexing service “Garuda” (abbreviation for Garba Rujukan Digital, meaning: Digital Reference Portal), published from 2010 to 2019. This study employed a bibliometric approach, browsing and analyzing numerical trends of several publications, quantitative distribution of publication years, authors’ characteristics, publishers, subject names, and keywords used. Findings research were compared with relevant references to provide a holistic picture of trends in disability studies over the last decade. Research result showed that the number of publications increased significantly from 2010 to 2019, and discussions on relevant and current disabilities conditions progressed according to the development of national and global works on the subject. Most studies focus on educational topics, dictating publication trends, with some published works, authors, subjects, and keywords being dominated by disability papers on education, with authors and publishers from western Indonesia dominantly publishing a significantly higher number of publications than their counterparts in the central and eastern parts. This study concludes that research trends on disability in Indonesia show significant development from year to year regarding the number of publications, the distribution of authors, and subject specifics

    Perkembangan ISSN Terbitan Berkala di Indonesia

    Terbitan berkala merupakan media yang digunakan untuk menyalurkan ide, gagasan ataupun hasil penelitian yang kemudian diberi identitas unik menggunakan issn, nomor yang terdiri dari delapan digit angka yang diterbitkan oleh Pusat Nasional ISSN Indonesia dalam hal ini adalah PDDI-LIPI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan issn terbitan berkala di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif dan studi literatur. Sumber data diperoleh dari Portal ISSN internasional dan dokumen pustaka yang kemudian diolah dan dianalisis. Secara umum kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu ISSN terbitan berkala di Indonesia menunjukkan angka pertumbuhan pada tiap tahunnya dan menduduki posisi ke-10 dari 90 Pusat ISSN di dunia. Salah satu faktor perkembangan ISSN terbitan berkala di Indonesia yaitu adanya perhatian dari pemerintah terhadap karya publikasi dengan menerbitkan peraturan-peraturan yang relevan dan mendukung serta mengembangkan sistem guna meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas terbitan berkala di Indonesia.ABSTRACTPeriodicals are media which are used to share ideas, concept or research that are given a unique identity using ISSN, a number consists of eight-digit numbers published by the Indonesian National Center for ISSN, PDDI-LIPI. This study aims to determine the development of periodical publications in Indonesia. The research method was qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach and literature study. The data sources were obtained from the international ISSN Portal and library documents which were processed and analyzed. In general, the conclusion of this study points out that the ISSN periodicals publication in Indonesia growth each year and occupies the 10th position out of 90 ISSN Centers in the world. One of the factors that made the development of ISSN periodicals in Indonesia is the attention of the government to the work of publications by publishing relevant regulations and supporting and developing systems to improve the quantity and quality of periodicals in Indonesia
