The study of relationship between transformational leadership style and organizational performance in state offices of Sirjan City based on EFQM model
The present study is conducted to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership style and organizational performance in governmental offices of Sirjan city based on the EFQM model. The study has applied purpose and in terms of nature and method is descriptive - correlational. The statistical population includes all government staff in Sirjan city in 2014 that is more than 1815 people. According to Morgan table, among them, 317 subjects were selected by random class sampling method. The standardized questionnaire of transformational leadership style with 20 questions was used for data collection and standardized questionnaire of Quality Excellence Model of Europe with 42 questions was used for organizational performance. Both questionnaires had acceptable validity and their reliability based on Cronbach's alpha test was obtained to be 0.961 for transformational leadership style and 0.95 for organizational performance. Descriptive statistic and inferential statistic methods were used to analyze the data. The results of data analysis showed a significant and positive relationship between transformational leadership style and all dimensions with organizational performance in governmental offices of Sirjan city based on the EFQM model

Towards an antibacterial self‐healing coating based on linseed oil/ZnO nanoparticles repair agent, encapsulated in polyurea formaldehyde microcapsules
Abstract This research aims at investigating the idea of anti‐bacterial self‐healing coatings based on polyurea formaldehyde microcapsules (MCs), with the repair agent being ZnO‐containing linseed oil. ZnO nanoparticles were added to the repair agent with the idea of developing an antibacterial coating. The idea was to entrap some ZnO nanoparticles inside microcapsules, aiming for some local release of ZnO nanoparticles where the coating is damaged. The corrosion resistances of the coatings were studied using the Tafel polarization test. The structure of the coating samples was evaluated using a scanning electron microscope. To check the antibacterial properties of ZnO‐containing self‐healing samples, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria were used. Results showed that ZnO nanoparticles were distributed not only inside microcapsules but also over the walls, inferring that overall protection can also be attained in addition to local anti‐bacterial performance. Results showed that the proposed multi‐functional coating has promising antibacterial and self‐healing responses
Prevention of catheter-related bloodstream infection in patients on hemodialysis
Central venous catheters (CVCs) are frequently used as vascular access for patients who require hemodialysis, but infectious complications remain a major clinical problem. Specifically, catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs) have an adverse effect on survival, hospitalization, mortality, and the overall cost of care in this setting. The growing number of patients who require hemodialysis, combined with an increasing number of patients who cannot use any vascular access other than a CVC, stress the importance of strategies to prevent CRBSI. Various interventions aimed at reducing the incidence of CRBSI are available, but they have not yet been integrated into evidence-based, consensus guidelines. In this Review, the results from several CVC infection prevention studies-of patients from dialysis and nondialysis settings-are combined to outline a rational approach to CRBSI prevention. Prevention of intraluminal contamination of the CVC is pivotal and of proven efficacy, as are strict aseptic CVC insertion and handling protocols, use of chlorhexidine in alcohol solutions for skin cleansing, topical application of antimicrobial ointments, and antimicrobial lock solutions. Adherence to a meticulous catheter care protocol can achieve a CRBSI incidence well below one episode per 1,000 catheter days, even without the need for antimicrobial ointments or lock solutions.</p
