MATKALLA : 3-5-vuotiaiden monikulttuurinen projekti Koivuhaan päiväkodissa

Opinnäytetyö on projektiopinnäytetyö. Työelämälähtöisen projektin tilaajana toimivat Kokkolan kaupungin varhaiskasvatuksen palvelut. Projektiopinnäytetyö toteutui Koivuhaan päiväkodissa. Projektiopinnäytetyön keskeisenä lähtökohtana oli tutustuttaa lapsia monikulttuurisuuteen tutkien erilaisia maita sekä millaisia piirteitä kyseissä maissa on. Keskityimme myös vahvistamaan lasten esiintymisvalmiuksia, sosiaalisia taitoja sekä tutustutimme heitä draamatyöskentelyyn. Projektiopinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli toteuttaa ohjelmanumero päiväkodin kevätjuhlaan sekä päivittää päiväkodin varhaiskasvatussuunnitelma monikulttuurisuudesta kertovalla välilehdellä. Projektiopinnäytetyön toiminnallinen osuus toteutui kevään 2014 aikana. Interventioita toteutimme yhteensä kahdeksan, joista viimeinen oli ohjelmanumeron esittäminen kevätjuhlassa. Projektiopinnäytetyön työmenetelmissä otettiin huomioon lapsille ominainen tapa toimia ja oppia, joten työmenetelminä käytettiin taidekasvatuksen eri muotoja kuten musiikkimaalausta, laulamista, piirtämistä ja liikkumista. Projektiopinnäytetyön arvioinnin perusteella projektin voi sanoa olleen hyödyllinen kokemus niin lapsille, henkilökunnalle kuin meille itsellekin. Palautteesta voi tulkita toiminnan olleen lapsille mielekästä, opettavaista sekä sosiaalisia taitoja tukevaa.The present thesis is a project. The orderers of this working-life-based thesis were Early Childhood Education Services of Kokkola town. Thesis was carriesd out in Koivuhaka’s day-care centre. A central starting point in this thesis was to introduce children to multiculturalism by researching different countries and what kind of features the countries concerned have. We also focused on strengthening the children’s skills in performing, social skills and exploring the drama work. The aim of this thesis was to implement a show in the day-care centre’s spring celebration as well as update the day-care centre’s Early Childhood Education Plan by creating a page about multiculturalism. The functional part of the thesis was completed during the spring of 2014. The total of eight interventions were carried out the last of which was the presentation of the show in spring celebration. The characteristic way for children to work and learn was taken into account in the working methods in this thesis. The working methods used were different forms of art such as painting, singing, drawing and different physical exercises. The evaluation of the thesis indicates that the project was a useful experience for children, employees and to us as well. It can be concluded from the feedback that the activities used were meaningful, educational and supporting the social skills
