The Educational Adjustment Program Profile: A Queensland Initiative in the identification and Monitoring of Students with a Disability
The effective identification and monitoring of students with a disability is a complex and important aspect of educational service delivery for students with a disability in Queensland. Building on previous initiatives in this domain Education Queensland has piloted the development of the Educational Adjustment Program (EAP) profile. Based on the data from the initial survey sample of more than 1500 school age students with a disability across Queensland, this paper highlights: the design of the Education Adjustment Program Adjustment Profile (EAP); some of its psychometric properties; gender and Indigenous student dimensions within the data; and how the EAP instrument compares with the 1 to 6 ascertainment rating scale
Delta s density in a proton and unpolarized lepton - polarized proton scatterings
It is shown that the parity--violating deep--inelastic scatterings of
unpolarized charged leptons on polarized protons, , could provide a sensitive
test for the behavior and magnitude of the polarized strange--quark density in
a proton. Below charm threshold these processes are also helpful to uniquely

Small Momentum Evolution of the Extended Drell--Hearn--Gerasimov Sum Rule
We investigate the momentum dependence of the extended Drell-Hearn-Gerasimov
sum rule. An economical formalism is developed which allows to express the
extended DHG sum rule in terms of a single virtual Compton amplitude in forward
direction. Rigorous results for the small momentum evolution are derived from
chiral perturbation theory within the one-loop approximation. Furthermore, we
evaluate some higher order contributions arising from
intermediate states and relativistic corrections. (2 figures available upon

On the Spin content of the Nucleon
A QCD sum rule calculation of Balistky and Ji on the spin content of the
nucleon is done with a different approach to the evaluation of the bilocal
contributions and to the extraction of the nucleon pole residues. The result
obtained is much more numerically stable which puts their conclusion that about

Leading Chiral Contributions to the Spin Structure of the Proton
The leading chiral contributions to the quark and gluon components of the
proton spin are calculated using heavy-baryon chiral perturbation theory.
Similar calculations are done for the moments of the generalized parton
distributions relevant to the quark and gluon angular momentum densities. These
results provide useful insight about the role of pions in the spin structure of
the nucleon, and can serve as a guidance for extrapolating lattice QCD

Floral Color Properties of Serpentine Seep Assemblages Depend on Community Size and Species Richness
Functional traits, particularly those that impact fitness, can shape the ecological and evolutionary relationships among coexisting species of the same trophic level. Thus, examining these traits and properties of their distributions (underdispersion, overdispersion) within communities can provide insights into key ecological interactions (e.g., competition, facilitation) involved in community assembly. For instance, the distribution of floral colors in a community may reflect pollinator-mediated interactions between sympatric plant species, and the phylogenetic distribution of color can inform how evolutionary contingencies can continue to shape extant community assemblages. Additionally, the abundance and species richness of the local habitat may influence the type or strength of ecological interactions among co-occurring species. To evaluate the impact of community size and species richness on mechanisms shaping the distribution of ecologically relevant traits, we examined how floral color (defined by pollinator color vision models) is distributed within co-flowering assemblages. We modeled floral reflectance spectra of 55 co-flowering species using honeybee (Apis mellifera) and syrphid fly (Eristalis tenax) visual systems to assess the distributions of flower color across 14 serpentine seep communities in California. We found that phylogenetic relatedness had little impact on the observed color assemblages. However, smaller seep communities with lower species richness were more overdispersed for flower color than larger, more species-rich communities. Results support that competitive exclusion could be a dominant process shaping the species richness of flower color in smaller-sized communities with lower species richness, but this is less detectable or overwhelmed by other processes at larger, more speciose communities
The Leadership Role of Psychiatrists in the NHS
This article explores leadership in the context of psychiatry in the NHS. It identifies considerable policy challenges facing psychiatry such as recent attempts to upgrade mental health services and bring them up to par with other services. It suggests it will become increasingly necessary for the profession to respond to such challengers by engaging with leadership at various levels.
The article suggests there may be merit in exploring one particular approach to leadership, namely transformational leadership, given its emphasis on dealing with change. Psychiatrists may find the behaviours associated with this approach of particular relevance. However, it suggests that there may need to adopt a particular variant of transformational leadership that acknowledges both the achievement of objectives and showing genuine concern for followers. The latter is important given the on going problem of clinical engagement in the NHS. The article concludes with the developmental implications in adopting this leadership approach
Determination of nuclear parton distributions
Parametrization of nuclear parton distributions is investigated in the
leading order of alpha_s. The parton distributions are provided at Q^2=1 GeV^2
with a number of parameters, which are determined by a chi^2 analysis of the
data on nuclear structure functions. Quadratic or cubic functional form is
assumed for the initial distributions. Although valence quark distributions in
the medium x region are relatively well determined, the small x distributions
depend slightly on the assumed functional form. It is difficult to determine
the antiquark distributions at medium x and gluon distributions. From the
analysis, we propose parton distributions at Q^2=1 GeV^2 for nuclei from
deuteron to heavy ones with the mass number A~208. They are provided either
analytical expressions or computer subroutines for practical usage. Our studies
should be important for understanding the physics mechanism of the nuclear
modification and also for applications to heavy-ion reactions. This kind of
nuclear parametrization should also affect existing parametrization studies in
the nucleon because "nuclear" data are partially used for obtaining the optimum

Right Handed Weak Currents in Sum Rules for Axialvector Constant Renormalization
The recent experimental results on deep inelastic polarized lepton scattering
off proton, deuteron and He together with polari% zed neutron
-decay data are analyzed. It is shown that the problem of Ellis-Jaffe
and Bjorken sum rules deficiency and the neutron paradox could be solved
simultaneously by assuming the small right handed current (RHC) admixture in
the weak interaction Lagrangian. The possible RHC impact on pion-nucleon
-term and Gamow-Teller sum rule for nuclear reactions is

Experimental Evidence for Simple Relations between Unpolarized and Polarized Parton Distributions
The Pauli exclusion principle is advocated for constructing the proton and
neutron deep inelastic structure functions in terms of Fermi-Dirac
distributions that we parametrize with very few parameters. It allows a fair
description of the recent NMC data on and at
, as well as the CCFR neutrino data at and . We
also make some reasonable and simple assumptions to relate unpolarized and
polarized quark parton distributions and we obtain, with no additional free
parameters, the spin dependent structure functions and
. Using the correct evolution, we have checked that they
