Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a progressive inflammatory liver disease. It is uncommon in children and adolescents, and is a diagnostic challenge for clinicians and pathologists. We describe the clinical, biochemical and histopathological characteristics of 21 pediatric patients with AIH diagnosed in the last 14 years. Liver biopsies were reassessed to analyze histopathological findings in detail. Of the 21 cases evaluated, 12 (57.1%) were girls and young women, the median age was 14 years old, and 17 (80.9%) had type 1 AIH. The most frequent clinical signs were jaundice (66.7%), choluria (44.4%), evidence of portal hypertension with esophageal varices (47.1%), and splenomegaly (41.2%). Histories of other autoimmune diseases were found in 11.8% of these patients. Elevated levels of aminotransferases were found in 89.5% of the patients, hyperbilirubinemia was found in 88.9%, and 60.0% of the cases had low levels of serum albumin. Reassessed biopsies showed portal lymphoplasmocytic infiltrate (94.4%), interface hepatitis (77.8%) and rosette formation (50.0%). Hyaline inclusions were found in Kupffer cells in 42.9% of the biopsies. About 33.5% of the cases showed cirrhosis at the initial biopsy. Despite immunosuppressive treatment, four patients required liver transplantation and two are on the waiting list. AIH in children can manifest with jaundice, choluria, signs of portal hypertension, elevated aminotransferases, hyperbilirubinemia and circulating antibodies. Hyaline inclusions in Kupffer cells may be a useful finding in the histopathological diagnosis of AIH in children. © 2019 Asociaciones Colombianas de Gastroenterología, Endoscopia digestiva, Coloproctología y Hepatología
The Role of ABA in Plant Immunity is Mediated through the PYR1 Receptor
[EN] ABA is involved in plant responses to a broad range of pathogens and exhibits complex antagonistic and synergistic relationships with salicylic acid (SA) and ethylene (ET) signaling pathways, respectively. However, the specific receptor of ABA that triggers the positive and negative responses of ABA during immune responses remains unknown. Through a reverse genetic analysis, we identified that PYR1, a member of the family of PYR/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors, is transcriptionally upregulated and specifically perceives ABA during biotic stress, initiating downstream signaling mediated by ABA-activated SnRK2 protein kinases. This exerts a damping effect on SA-mediated signaling, required for resistance to biotrophic pathogens, and simultaneously a positive control over the resistance to necrotrophic pathogens controlled by ET. We demonstrated that PYR1-mediated signaling exerted control on a priori established hormonal cross-talk between SA and ET, thereby redirecting defense outputs. Defects in ABA/PYR1 signaling activated SA biosynthesis and sensitized plants for immune priming by poising SA-responsive genes for enhanced expression. As a trade-off effect,pyr1-mediated activation of the SA pathway blunted ET perception, which is pivotal for the activation of resistance towards fungal necrotrophs. The specific perception of ABA by PYR1 represented a regulatory node, modulating different outcomes in disease resistance. This research was founded by the Spanish AEI agency by grant BIO2017-82503-R to P.L.R. and by grant RTI2018-098501-B-I00 to P.V.García-Andrade, J.; González, B.; Gonzalez-Guzman, M.; Rodríguez Egea, PL.; Vera Vera, P. Cidade emoção: o ver e o viver os espaços públicos por um grupo de jovens a partir da comunidade Carobinha no Rio de Janeiro
This report tries to understand the city through the look of young people that lives in a place expose to
poverty conditions. What move us to try understand how, starting to the feelings, those young people are
able to construct in interaction process in and with urban space, the perception of city to the notice their
identities in it. To characterization of this city, that we decide to call “emotion city”, so was collected
representations that they usually express at drawings and speeches about the urban space, since they are
captured images at collective imaginary of the habitants. The objective of this research has been to try
understand the living area to the Rio de Janeiro, through to young peoples’ perceptive processes bring up
urban complexity as they reveal identity territory and daily experiences. Therefore, this young people’s
interactional relation became itself at one of most important parts at development for the individual that was
analyzed having at base Vygotski’s idea (1998). This theory context, our object of study, the city, take itself
culturally as one emotional neighborhood, of habitants’ domain, although it is in a territory belongs to the
city habitants, the center where the knowledge come from that is the all urban
Objective: To compare the consumption of plant-based foods and dietary phytochemicals among different categories of socioeconomic stratum of lactating women from Córdoba, during the period April 2013 to September 2017. Hypothesis: The intake of plant-based foods and diet phytochemicals are decreased in lactating mothers from Cordoba in the low socioeconomic stratum. Materials and method: 113 lactating women from Córdoba, Argentina answered a structured questionnaire based on the usual guides of visual models and tables of weight/volume ratio for standardizing the portions. Then, compositional tables were used to estimate the phytochemical consumption according to the registered food frequency. A validated table was used to measure the socioeconomic status (ES). Data analysis included multiple logistic regression to determine the association among the study variables. In addition, Spearman correlation coefficients were calculated to show the relationship between the consumption of phytochemicals and food. All data was analyzed using the InfoStat statistical package. Results: A mayor and variable vegetable source was evidenced in the women under study and also that mothers with low socioeconomic conditions have lower dietary phytochemicals consumption. Conclusions: There are variations in the consumption of plant-based foods in lactating women of Córdoba. Carotenoids and polyphenols are the most consumed phytochemicals by the participants. Low socioeconomic stratum has lower chances of consumption of these compounds, with certain social conditioning. Certain foods have high correlations as sources of the phytochemicals evaluated.2020-09-24Fil: Vera Andrade, Karla Libeth.
Licenciatur
