Los autores analizan las condiciones e importancia cuantitativa de este tipo de no-participación política para finalmente explorar las causas posibles de este complejo fenómeno social y político

Programa de Doha para el desarrollo

El presente ensayo tiene como propósito destacar la importancia del Programa Doha para el Desarrollo de las economías del mundo, especialmente para Nicaragua. La metodología utilizada ha sido de orden expositivo-descriptivo, detallando en cada una de las etapas de desarrollo de la Ronda Doha. El Programa Dohapara el Desarrollo como se denominó a la negociación del 2001 de la OMC, donde más de 150 países miembros firmaron la declaración ministerial en la que se comprometían a negociar una serie de temas relativos a ir eliminando obstáculos al comercio mundial tales como las prácticas proteccionistas de incentivos y subsidios que los países desarrollados brindan a los productores de sus naciones. En los últimos años Nicaragua ha sido uno de los países que se ha beneficiado con este tipo de negociaciones, la firma de tratados de libre comercio regionales y de manera bilateral le ha permitido aumentar el nivel de volumen de sus exportaciones e ir buscando nuevos nichos de mercado a nivel internacional

ANTIOXIDANT AND TOXICITY ACTIVITY IN VITRO OF TWELVE SAFROLE DERIVATIVES

Indexación: Web of Science; Scielo.The aim of this study was to determine the influence of substituents in aromatic ring and the side chain of safrole on the antioxidant capacity and toxicity of twelve synthetic derivatives of safrole (S1-S12). Each compound was analyzed by two antioxidant methods: DPPH and bleaching of β-carotene (DBC). Among the derivates of safrol assayed, S5, S6, S9, S10 and S11 showed the strongest antioxidant capacity: DPPH method, first order specific rate constant (0.0152, 0.0211, 0.0432, 0.0317 and 0.0072) and DBC (22.41 ± 0.13%, 10.71 ± 0.05 %, 9.12 ± 0.89 %, 30.97 ± 0.92 % and 19.08 ± 0.31 %), respectively. The toxicity of the active compounds was evaluated by means of two techniques, Artemia salina, LD50 (4466 ± 1057 ppm, 630 ± 108 ppm, 1513 ± 797 ppm, 1585 ± 317 ppm, 1259 ± 242 ppm) and red cells, Haemolysis (1.58 ± 0.98%, 4.02 ± 2.03%, 8.42 ± 1.38%, 2.59 ± 2.31%, 2.92 ± 0.52%), to provide preliminary information that can be used as a basis for further studies to contribute to the search for new antioxidants.http://ref.scielo.org/9sqp8

Peninsular Pronghorn Conservation: Too Many Paradigms, too few indicators

Pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) is the only member of the Antilocapridae family, and differs from bovids, cervids and other ruminants. It is found in North American deserts and grasslands (Fig. 1). Pronghorn is the second fastest land animal but can run for much longer than cheetah. Antilocapridae evolved in North America and were a successful family thanks to digestive and temperature regulation evolutions. These evolutions probably were a response to climate becoming highly seasonal about 34 million years ago, with glaciations alternating every 41-100 thousand years with temperatures slightly warmer than today, and millennial cycles of 2oC local cooling (Maslin, 2009). Lacking equivalent temperature regulation equus including horses came close to extinction (Mitchell and Lust, 2008; Kulemzina et al., 2014)

Noncommutativity in Effective Loop Quantum Cosmology

We construct a noncommutative extension of the Loop Quantum Cosmology effective scheme for the open FLRW model with a free scalar field via a theta deformation. Firstly, a deformation is implemented in the configuration sector, among the holonomy variable and the matter degree of freedom. We show that this type of noncommutativity retain, to some degree, key features of the Loop Quantum Cosmology paradigm for a free field. Secondly, a deformation is implemented in the momentum sector, among the momentum associated to the holonomy variable and the momentum associated to the matter field. We show that in this latter case the scalar field energy density is bounded and has the same maximum as in standard Loop Quantum Cosmology, signaling a higher degree of compatibility

This article addresses the topic of civil wrongful acts that can cause tort liability. The author criticize the position that holds that wrongfulness is not an element of tort liability. In accordance with that position, not considering wrongfulness as an element of tort liability, it permits to consider that some “lawful acts” could cause tort liability. On the contrary, Espinoza consider those supposed “lawful acts” as examples of abuse of law so they are actually wrongful acts.El presente artículo aborda el tema de los llamados actos ilícitos dañosos como supuestos de responsabilidad civil. El autor cuestiona la posición que niega que la antijuridicidad sea un elemento configurador de la misma.
