AbstractAimThe purpose of this study is to assess attitude and behaviour of the students withregard to knowledge level of textile ecology.Material and MethodThis study was performed on 380 university students, between the ages of 19-55. Consent received and university students was applied with face-to-face interview method. Participants is consists of 267 science students and 75 social science students and 38 group 2.ResultsHealth sciences from the participants 72% and social sciences % 90 and sciences from the participants 61% said fabrics can be harmful to human health and the environment (p>0.05).ConclusionThe students that we will entrust our future to them are determined their sensitivity about harmful substance in fabrics and their harmful to environment and determined they are knowledgeable about this subject. Group 2 in comparison with other parts of students about the harmful fabrics were shown to be more sensitive

On the design of an intelligent battery charge controller for PV panels

The electricity generations of photo voltaic (PV) panels are strongly related with insolation and temperature. The insolation and temperature are not stable, since the electricity generations of the PV panels are not stable. In PV systems, insolation and temperature continuous vary. Therefore, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques are used to give the highest power to the loads/batteries. The MPPT process is performed with a power electronic circuit and it overcomes the problem of voltage mismatch between the PV panels and the batteries/loads. In this study, a microcontroller is employed to develop battery charge control system for PV panels. The system is composed of a microcontroller (Microchip PIC18F2550), a buck-boost type DC-DC converter, a resistive load, and lead acid battery. In the system, MPPT, charge control, and discharge algorithms are executed by a program embedded within the microcontroller. The program also has ability to perform some data acquisition process and acquired data are sent to the personal computer (PC) through the USB communication port. In addition the system has able to be followed and controlled by the graphical user interface (GUI)

This study aims to determine the relationship between fear of death and the meaning of life in nursing students and nurses caring for terminally ill patients. The study was conducted in a crosssectional and relationship-seeking research design. The research was conducted between March 15 and June 30, 2023. 123 nurses and 139 nursing students working with terminal-stage patients at a university hospital participated in the study. The study was conducted with a total of 262 participants. The Personal Information Form was collected using the Fear of Death Scale (DAS) and the Meaning of Life Scale (MLQ). The relationship between fear of death and the meaning of life in nursing students and nurses caring for terminally ill patients was determined to be 31.74 (7.13) years old on average for the nurses participating in the study and 22.71 (1.66) years for the nursing students. 61% of nurses and 66.2% of nursing students were women. It was determined that 56.1% of the nurses had undergraduate degrees and 77.7% of the students were third-year students. According to the Student t-test analysis, a significant difference was detected between the groups in terms of the total score of the DAS, and the DAS scores of the nursing students were statistically significantly higher. According to the Pearson correlation analysis, a weak negative relationship was detected between the total scores of the nurses' DAS and MLQ, while no significant difference was found between the scale scores of the nursing students. In this study, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the Death Anxiety Scale (DAS) was found to be 0.96 and the Meaning of Life Scale (MLQ) was 0.68. It can be said that there is no relationship between the fear of death and the meaning of life in nursing students who care for terminal patients, but there is a relationship between the fear of death and the meaning of life in nurses

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to investigate the dietary habits and oral health related behaviors in relation to the dental health status in terms of decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMFT index) of a group of young adults attending to a dental school located in a major city in Turkey. Study Design: A total of 416 young adults (247 females and 169 males) with an age range of 18-25 (Mean 23.2 sd 0.97) attending the Oral Diagnosis department participated in the study. The patients completed a questionnaire including questions about demographic factors, dietary habits and oral health related behaviors. Subsequently, the DMFT index and plaque index was calculated. Descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U/ Kruskal Wallis Variance analysis, Chi-square/ Fisher?s Exact tests and multiple linear regression analysis were used for statistical analysis of the data when applicable. Results: According to the results of the study, approximately 70% of the patients had regular main meals and a very high snacking rate (76.9%) was present. Although not at a high rate, most of the patients brushed their teeth regularly twice a day (44.2%) and approximately half used other hygiene aids in addition to brushing (43.8%). The median of the DMFT index was 5 and a majority of the patients had moderate plaque accumulation which could be seen with the naked eye (45.0%). Dental plaque had the most significant effect on the DMFT index. Conclusion: In conclusion, advice, including importance of regularity of main meals, decrease in snacking frequency, regular brushing twice a day and the use of other oral hygiene aids for the elimination of dental plaque would be helpful to enhance the dietary habits and oral health related behaviors of young adult Turkish patients
