    Investigation on data acquisition accuracy for long range communication using RFM LoRa

    Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is a new wireless technology which is designed for low power with long-range communication. Long Range (LoRa) is one of the primary solutions of the technology. The objective of this work is to build a simple prototype device for the purpose of testing the long-range communications by means of Radio Frequency Modulation (RFM) LoRa and to investigate the accuracy of data transmitted using this technology by varying the distance between transmitter and receiver as well as data packet size. LoRa SX1276 is used for the testing purpose as it is mostly available in our country, Malaysia. For that purpose, LoRa transmitter and receiver node are integrated with small and simple microcontroller Arduino Uno and Raspberry as an interface of the communication. Consequences, data has been transmitted and received by both devices transmitter and receiver to investigate the effects related to their distance and different data packet. With the fixed value of spreading factor of 7, it could be observed, that, as the size of transmitted data is bigger, the longer the time required is and the accuracy is reduced. It could be seen that, for a small data size (200bytes), the accuracy is considerable good with the value around 90%

    Effects of equity and debt financing on SME performance in Malaysia

    This study is to examine and verify the existence of relationship between the source of capital via equity and debt financing, and the performance of small and medium enterprise (hereafter SME) in Malaysia.The study is run based on of postal survey using cluster sampling method. It comprises of 177 samples of Malaysian SMEs involving in manufacturing and agriculture sectors. Subsequently, two research hypotheses are developed and analysed.It is found that equity financing has significant positive relationship on the business performance, while debt financing is insignificant.The study suggests that SMEs in Malaysia to employ equity financing as a source of business capital, for its potential (capability) in affecting the performance of business

    Conversational chat system using attention mechanism for COVID-19 inquiries

    Conversational artificial intelligence (AI) is a type of artificial intelligence that uses machine learning techniques to understand and respond to user inputs. This paper presents a conversational chat system that uses an attention mechanism to respond to COVID-19 inquiries. The model is based on the Luong Attention Mechanism’s three scoring methodologies the Dot Attention Mechanism, the General Attention Mechanism, and the Concat Attention Mechanism. The results show that the accuracy of the dot attention mechanism is highest and is 87% when the test questions were obtained directly from the database, as determined by an examination of the results, compared to 38% when the attention mechanism is not used. Furthermore, when the questions are asked with natural variations, human verification accuracy is 63% compared to 16% when the attention mechanism is not used. The research suggests that chatbots can be used everywhere due to their accuracy and accessibility around the clock

    Patriotisme merupakan mekanisme penting dalam mengukur kesetiaan seseorang rakyat terhadap negara.Patriotisme juga merupakan satu unsur psikologi yang harus wujud dalam diri setiap individu yang bernegara.Artikel ini membincangkan mengenai tahap patriotisme di kalangan mahasiswdi institusi pengajian tinggi (IPTA) di Malaysia. Perbincangan juga turut menyentuh mengenai tahap patriotisme yang dikaitkan dengan ciri-ciri demografi.Tiga elemen demografi yang dipilih iaitu jantina, bangsa dan tempat asal.Kajian ini dijalankan di tiga buah universiti awam iaitu Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) dan Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).Seramai 1345 mahasiswa/i telah dipilih sebagai responden.Instrumen kajian ini menggunakan soal selidik.Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap patriotisme di kalangan pelajar tanpa mengira kaum adalah tinggi namun para pelajar Melayu mencatatkan tahap yang paling baik. Manakala pelajar wanita pula digambarkan sebagai lebih patriotik berbanding dengan pelajar lelaki manakala mereka yang berasal dari luar bandar lebih patriotik berbanding dengan pelajar dari bandar

    Unsteady natural convection and statistical analysis in a CNT-water filled cavity with non-isothermal heating

    A computational study has been done in this work to investigate the effects of CNT–water nanofluids in a cavity with non-isothermal heating for higher Rayleigh numbers. The cavity is heated non-isothermally from the bottom wall, it is cooled from the top and vertical walls are adiabatic. Unsteady governing equations of heat and fluid flow are solved via finite element method for different parameters as Ra and ϕ. A correlation analysis shows that, when controlling for ϕ and τ there was a significant correlation between Ra and Num. When controlling for Ra and ϕ there was a negative significant correlation between τ and Num. It is also found that there is an optimum value for nanofluid volume fraction to control heat transfer, temperature distribution and flow field
