    Applying Value Creation Framework to Offer Public Transport Improvement

    Public Transportation in urban areas is expected to be main choice for people's mobility. The aim of this research is apply value creation framework based on S-D Logic and Trans Jogja from Yogyakarta and Värmlandstrafik AB Sweden are the case study. This research use direct observation and interview to the related person/ company as the primary data, and to support them use group discussion with the users. This research also use secondary data from some journals, reports, documentations, etc. From the analysis and discussion Värmlandstrafik AB is address the value creation service and opportunity more than Trans Jogja. From conclusion, the need of applying value creation framework in Trans Jogja is to offer public transport improvement as has been illustrated by Trans Jogja. Although the achievement of value creation opportunities are not as high as that achieved by Värmlandstrafik AB, but Trans Jogja should learn about what needs should be improved

    ABSTRAK Gadjah Mada University is situated in the urban agglomeration of Yogyakarta, and the campus is divided by a main busy road, i.e. Kaliurang Street. The university has, therefore, a great problem in traffic management. The aim of this research is to identify the traffic problems, including the road performance, traffic characteristics, public transport, parking, and also the internal policies to manage the traffic flow by the gate system UGM area. Surveys were carried out within the campus, such as geometric, traffic, and parking surveys. Interview surveys were also carried out to know the aspiration of road users. The results indicate that there are some junctions and roundabout in UGM that should be improved, such as geometric improvement. The result of the transport modelling analysis slums that the gate system has a big impact in main road traffic, i.e. Kaliurang Street. The result of simulating and analysing of the scenario shows that opening the gate in Puma Budaya Intersection could divert the traffic into Pancasila Street (UGM Boulevard) and also decrease the degree of saturation at Mirota Intersection. This scenario has also positive impact to minimise traffic conflict at intersection. This conclusion is also supported by interview survey, which shows that 66% of road users are agree to close the gate but only during the off peak periods (in the evening and at night), 22,5% of them are disagree to close, and 11,5% of them are agree to close permanently. The interview of public bus users and non-users shows that the students of UGM, who use buses are about 42%. The main reason of using buses is cheap (62%). The users claim that bus service is less and very less (71%). The non-users claim that buses have disturbed them (91%). The parking interview survey shows that the largest mode is motorcycles. According to the users, the main parking problem is the insufficient space for parking. The standard of parking area could be estimated by following equation: Y = 179,152 + 7,698 x 10 X i , ,R2 = 0,976 , where Y = parking space unit, and XI = the number of lecturers, employees and students.     To analyse the demand of on street parking, a large amount of data is needed. There would be a problem to compile and analysis the data, especially to match the registration number of the parked vehicles. A software program, PARKIR, therefore, has been developed to compile and analyse the data, by using Turbo Pascal version 7.0. This program was used to analyse the potential of on street parking within the city of Yogyakarta. Survey has been carried out in the whole on street parking facilities in the city of Yogyakarta, for the whole days, on the working days, Saturdays and Sundays. Patrol survey method has been employed. Data has been analysed by using PARKIR software program, to calculate the number of parked vehicles, parking accumulation, parking time and parking duration. Further analysis has been carried out to calculate parking index, turn over and to estimate the local government income from parking retribution.     Diperlukan pada suatu rencana pembangunan suatu pusat kegiatan, yang diperkirakan akan memberikan dampak terhadap arus lalulintas di sekitarnya. Metoda yang digunakan adalah dengan memperkirakan dampak lalulintas jika dibangun pusat kegiatan tersebut, dan USAha yang dilakukan untuk mengatasinya. Penerapan metodologi ini diuraikan dengan studi kasus analisis dampak lalulintas pembangunan Plaza Ambarrukmo di Yogyakarta. Pertama-tama dilakukan survai lalulintas, geometri di sekitarnya, serta tata bangunan plaza tersebut. Hasil analisis memberikan rekomendasi tentang perbaikan-perbaikan lingkungan Plaza Ambarrukmo tersebut, termasuk ruas-ruas jalan di sekitarnya guna menghindari kemacetan yang mungkin terjadi akibat pembangunan plaza tersebut

    Analysis of The Impact of Traffic and Pedestrianization Environment in Malioboro

    The phenomenon of the increasing number of Malioboro tourists is known to be raising traffic problems in the area, annually. These problems ranges from congestion and increased vehicle exhaust emissions, to increasing side friction. This has placed pressure on the Yogyakarta city government, as they have been tasked to plan and improve traffic management, through the transformation of Malioboro into a pedestrianized area. Moreover, pedestrianization in urban centres has been widely practiced in big cities of various countries. This application also has an impact on the significant changes in traffic flow on roads, around the area. This study simulated a traffic flow scenario on roads around Malioboro, via the use of a VISSIM software, in order to determine the saturation level of the movement, as well as the resulting emissions. The collection of generation and attraction data were carried out through household interview or traffic surveys, around the research area. However, the data used were obtained from the traffic survey results. The VISSIM is known to be a Microscopic flow simulation software, which is often used for traffic models. In this simulation, the existing condition, i.e, the Malioboro road that was still opened for motorized vehicles, was compared with the area's scenario (closed from motorized vehicle), as well as several gyratory alternatives on the surrounding. In order to determine the emission data released due to transportation activities, a node was placed at several simulated intersections. Also, three alternatives were observed to have been compared, with recommendations stating that those having less traffic impacts should be used
