Facilitators and Barriers of Medication Adherence Based on Beliefs of Persons with Bipolar Disorder: A Qualitative Study
One of the big challenges in treating individuals with bipolar disorder (BD) is nonadherence
to medication. This is the principal factor associated with a worse prognosis or outcome of the disease.
This study aimed to explore and analyze the individual perceptions that people with BD have about
the positive and negative aspects when taking medication. A descriptive and interpretative study
was carried out using the qualitative research paradigm with the use of the analytical technique
of discourse analysis, extracting the data through the completion of focus groups. Participants’
speech was digitally audio-recorded in digital format. In order to complete the codification of the
participants’ speech content, we relied on the qualitative data analysis (using the QRS NVivo 10
computer software). Thirty-six participants diagnosed with bipolar disorder took part in our study.
In the participants’ speech concerning the main barriers to pharmacological treatment, three key
topics were identified. Perceived facilitators were summarized in four factors. The main facilitators
regarding the use of pharmacological treatment in individuals with BD were the ones related with
the perceived need for treatment in the acute phase, the recognition of the illness, the shared clinical
decision, and the causal biological attribution in the chronic phase. In terms of perceived barriers,
social control was identified in both phases, adverse effects in the acute phase, and the absence of
effective treatment in the chronic state
Cayley-Klein Poisson Homogeneous Spaces
Producción CientíficaThe nine two-dimensional Cayley–Klein geometries are firstly reviewed by following a graded
contraction approach. Each geometry is considered as a set of three symmetrical homogeneous spaces (of points and two kinds of lines), in such a manner that the graded contraction
parameters determine their curvature and signature. Secondly, new Poisson homogeneous
spaces are constructed by making use of certain Poisson–Lie structures on the corresponding motion groups. Therefore, the quantization of these spaces provides noncommutative
analogues of the Cayley–Klein geometries. The kinematical interpretation for the semiRiemannian and pseudo-Riemannian Cayley–Klein geometries is emphasized, since they are
just Newtonian and Lorentzian spacetimes of constant curvature.Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (grant MTM2016-79639-P)European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST Action MP1405 QSPACE

Influence of the Surface Viscosity on the Breakup of a Surfactant-Laden Drop
We examine both theoretically and experimentally the breakup of a pendant drop loaded with an
insoluble surfactant. The experiments show that a significant amount of surfactant is trapped in the resulting
satellite droplet. This result contradicts previous theoretical predictions, where the effects of surface tension
variation were limited to solutocapillarity and Marangoni stresses. We solve numerically the hydrodynamic
equations, including not only those effects but also those of surface shear and dilatational viscosities. We
show that surface viscosities play a critical role to explain the accumulation of surfactant in the satellite
droplet.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad DPI2013-46485-C3-1-R, TRA2013- 45808-RJunta de Extremadura GR1004
Automated analysis of feature models: Quo vadis?
Feature models have been used since the 90's to describe software product lines as a way of reusing common parts in a family of software systems. In 2010, a systematic literature review was published summarizing the advances and settling the basis of the area of Automated Analysis of Feature Models (AAFM). From then on, different studies have applied the AAFM in different domains. In this paper, we provide an overview of the evolution of this field since 2010 by performing a systematic mapping study considering 423 primary sources. We found six different variability facets where the AAFM is being applied that define the tendencies: product configuration and derivation; testing and evolution; reverse engineering; multi-model variability-analysis; variability modelling and variability-intensive systems. We also confirmed that there is a lack of industrial evidence in most of the cases. Finally, we present where and when the papers have been published and who are the authors and institutions that are contributing to the field. We observed that the maturity is proven by the increment in the number of journals published along the years as well as the diversity of conferences and workshops where papers are published. We also suggest some synergies with other areas such as cloud or mobile computing among others that can motivate further research in the future.
The road, understood as an infrastructure in a rural environment, demands, for its importance for the local economy and its potential impact in the landscape, a consensual and operating legal framework, with a territorial character, establishing helpful procedures in all its process. This is a process that includes from recognizing and inventorying the roads of a territory, to signaling and maintenance, including the decision process and the road work. That kind of legal framework doesn´t exist in Spain, resulting in incoordination between administrations, local population and economic sectors, in bad actions for landscape and rural environment, and in unnecessary economic costs. Here we propose principles, good intervening practices and methodologies whose purpose is to help establish valid procedures for rural roads management.
