This research aimed to improve the students’ reading comprehension by using the Know Want Learn (KWL) strategy. The objectives of this research were to investigate whether the integration of the Know Want Learn (KWL) strategy in the Zoom conference can improve the students’ reading comprehension and identify the students' perception of using the KWL Strategy in the Zoom conference. In this research, the researchers used classroom action research as the research design in collecting the data. The research was conducted in three cycles. The samples of this research were 30 students. The researchers employed questionnaire, observation and test for the data collecting technique. The test used in this research was reading test consisted of 25 questions. The researchers used descriptive analysis for analyzing the data. The findings of this research show that the integration of the Know Want Learn (KWL) strategy in the Zoom conference successful to improve students’ reading comprehension and reading activity. The improvement of students’ reading comprehension can be concluded from the mean score of the pre-test is 65.42 and the mean score of the post-test is 85.49. Moreover, there are 26% (8) students who show moderate perception, 24% (7) students offer positive perceptions, and 50% (15) students show very positive perceptions. Furthermore, the combination of KWL Strategy and Zoom conference can help students achieve the learning target. The students can get many benefits from using this combination to study English. They also can conduct an effective teaching-learning activity in a modern way even though they are not allowed to attend the face-to-face classroom

Eearly start in teaching English became an ability to create successful learning by using innovative technology. The purpose of this study is to investigate an early start to learn the English using Zoom by enrolling five students to participate along with problems. The researcher gained by observation techniques, interview and uses qualitative method. The finding revealed that students are more interested while learning by Zoom. The problem was the unstable internet connection.Keyword: Innovative Technologies, Early Start in Teaching English, Zoo

    Learning to Zoom and Unzoom

Many perception systems in mobile computing, autonomous navigation, and AR/VR face strict compute constraints that are particularly challenging for high-resolution input images. Previous works propose nonuniform downsamplers that "learn to zoom" on salient image regions, reducing compute while retaining task-relevant image information. However, for tasks with spatial labels (such as 2D/3D object detection and semantic segmentation), such distortions may harm performance. In this work (LZU), we "learn to zoom" in on the input image, compute spatial features, and then "unzoom" to revert any deformations. To enable efficient and differentiable unzooming, we approximate the zooming warp with a piecewise bilinear mapping that is invertible. LZU can be applied to any task with 2D spatial input and any model with 2D spatial features, and we demonstrate this versatility by evaluating on a variety of tasks and datasets: object detection on Argoverse-HD, semantic segmentation on Cityscapes, and monocular 3D object detection on nuScenes. Interestingly, we observe boosts in performance even when high-resolution sensor data is unavailable, implying that LZU can be used to "learn to upsample" as well.Comment: CVPR 2023. The previous research has shown that learning using video conferencing has an impact on mental health, which one is anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between zoom fatigue and student anxiety during online learning in the new normal. This research uses correlational quantitative research method with a sample of 107 students obtained from purposive sampling method. The research variables are zoom fatigue and anxiety using the Zoom Exhaustion Scale and the anxiety scale on the DASS-42. The results obtained a value of 0.000 (P ≤ 0,05) meaning that there is a very significant relationship between zoom fatigue and anxiety in students during online learning.Correlation coefficient value of 0,736 (strong) with a positive direction which indicates high zoom fatigue results in high anxiety. The results of this study are expected to be considered by educational institutions to create programs/policies that can reduce student anxiety due to zoom fatigue.
