Model of eight pillars of the Management of Information and Communication Technologies for SMEs companies in Costa Rica with a continuous improvement emphasis
The Information Technologies play a key role in organizations in decision -making. Proper management of these is essential to achieve optimization of resources used. The proposal of the eight main pillars for the Management of Information Technology shows how to address the different components mentioned comprehensively achieving that knowledge flows and establishes concrete actions to implement them , taking into consideration the strategic planning for allocation resources and functions , the appropriate definition of processes and services; taking into account the risks associated with information security and establishing the necessary controls to promote continuous improvement ; all this to ensure business continuity. The eight pillars have been defined on three main Perspectives, the first is the ICT Governance within which the first three components are located: Strategic Planning, IT alignment with business and Project Definition and Management. As a second important perspective is the IT Operative where it is located: the Identification and Mapping of Processes, the Definition of Services by processes and the allocation of Roles, Responsibilities and Resources. And as a third perspective IT Assurance which contains Information Security (Risks and Controls) and Business Continuity.Sociedad Argentina de Inform谩tica e Investigaci贸n Operativa (SADIO
Making Strategic Supply Chain Capacity Planning more Dynamic to cope with Hyperconnected and Uncertain Environments
Public and private organizations cope with a lot of uncertainties when planning the future of their supply chains. Additionally, the network of stakeholders is now intensely interconnected and dynamic, revealing new collaboration opportunities at a tremendous pace. In such a context, organizations must rethink most of their supply chain planning decision support systems. This is the case regarding strategic supply chain capacity planning systems that should ensure that supply chains will have enough resources to profitably produce and deliver products on time, whatever hazards and disruptions. Unfortunately, most of the existing systems are unable to consider satisfactorily this new deal. To solve this issue, this paper develops a decision support system designed for making strategic supply chain capacity planning more dynamic to cope with hyperconnected and uncertain environments. To validate this decision support system, two industrial experiments have been conducted with two European pharmaceuticals and cosmetics companies
User-Oriented Summaries Using a PSO Based Scoring Optimization Method
Automatic text summarization tools have a great impact on many fields, such as medicine, law, and scientific research in general. As information overload increases, automatic summaries allow handling the growing volume of documents, usually by assigning weights to the extracted phrases based on their significance in the expected summary. Obtaining the main contents of any given document in less time than it would take to do that manually is still an issue of interest.
In this article, a new method is presented that allows automatically generating extractive summaries from documents by adequately weighting sentence scoring features using Particle Swarm Optimization.
The key feature of the proposed method is the identification of those features that are closest to the criterion used by the individual when summarizing. The proposed method combines a binary representation and a continuous one, using an original variation of the technique developed by the authors of this paper. Our paper shows that using user labeled information in the training set helps to find better metrics and weights. The empirical results yield an improved accuracy compared to previous methods used in this field.Instituto de Investigaci贸n en Inform谩tic
