International Workshop: Imagining Housing Renewal In Deprived Areas
The ‘International Workshop 9 x 18. Imagining housing renewal in deprived areas’, is presented as a synthetic experience of diagnosis, analysis, proposal, and reflection on the challenges of regeneration of vulnerable urban neighborhoods, which are triggered from collective housing projects. Its structure, principles, and methodologies are born from the accumulated experience of the course 9 x 18, design module of the School of Architecture of the Catholic University of Chile, complemented with the knowledge and experience of the teaching team of the University of TU Delft. An introduction to local Black Hole horizons in the 3+1 approach to General Relativity
We present an introduction to dynamical trapping horizons as quasi-local
models for black hole horizons, from the perspective of an Initial Value
Problem approach to the construction of generic black hole spacetimes. We focus
on the geometric and structural properties of these horizons aiming, as a main
application, at the numerical evolution and analysis of black hole spacetimes
in astrophysical scenarios. In this setting, we discuss their dual role as an
"a priori" ingredient in certain formulations of Einstein equations and as an
"a posteriori" tool for the diagnosis of dynamical black hole spacetimes.
Complementary to the first-principles discussion of quasi-local horizon
physics, we place an emphasis on the "rigidity" properties of these
hypersurfaces and their role as privileged geometric probes into near-horizon

Decentralised fault diagnosis of large-scale systems: Application to water transport networks
Trabajo presentado al 26th International Workshop on Principles of Diagnosis celebrado en Paris (Francia) del 31 de agosto al 3 de septiembre de 2015.In this paper, a decentralised fault diagnosis approach for large-scale systems is proposed. This approach is based on obtaining a set of local diagnosers using the analytical redundancy relation (ARRs) approach. The proposed approach starts with obtaining the set of ARRs of the system yielding into an equivalent graph. From that graph, the graph partitioning problem is solved obtaining a set of ARRs for each local diagnoser. Finally, a decentralised fault diagnosis strategy is proposed and applied over the resultant set of partitions and ARRs. In order to illustrate the application of the proposed approach, a case study based on the Barcelona drinking water network (DWN) is used.This work has been partially supported by the EFFINET grant FP7-ICT-2012-318556 of the European Commission and the Spanish project ECOCIS (Ref.
