The study entitled Development of Instructional Model Calculus Based on the Theory APOS, has produced Learning Model Calculus Based on the Theory APOS (MPK-APOS), MPK-APOS provides a narrow space that extended into Development of Mathematical Model Based Theory APOS (Model APOS), A Case Study Calculus Integral. Model APOS has a syntax that consists of phases: orientation, practicum, Group Discussions, Classroom Discussions, Exercise and Evaluation, and has been declared valid, practical and effective. One of the support system of the Model APOS is APOS Model-Based Spreadsheet. Model development in other research Worksheet that follows the general model design development according to Plomp which consists of three stages or phases, namely: a preliminary study (Preliminary Research), the prototype stage (or Prototyping Development Phase), and the assessment phase (Phase Assessment). Results prototype of Worksheet berbasil APOS Model consists of: Practical Worksheet, Worksheet Manual, Diskisi Sheet Grades, Exercises Sheet. Based on the validity of the test results by 3 experts values obtained with an average of 92.06%. and included the category of very valid, test the practicalities, generating an average value 76.61% and categorized as practical, as well as the effectiveness test resulted in an average value of 80, 43% M, and in the category effectively. Worksheets can be concluded that the very valid APOS Model-based, practical, and effective. and received a positive response from students

Design of Smart Open Parking Using Background Subtraction in the IoT Architecture

    Get PDF
The Internet of Things (IoT) has evolved and penetrated to our live since the end of the last century. Nowadays, many devices for any purpose are connected through the Internet. A smart node, in smart campus environment, can detect an availability of an open parking space by calculating the vehicle that enters or outs from the space. The node applies a background subtraction method, which is deployed in IoT architecture. The Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is utilized to determine foreground and background image, in order to detect a moving object at an open area. Furthermore, the node can discriminate the type of vehicle with a high accuracy. The result of vehicle type classification is transmitted by the node through the Internet, and then it is saved to the data server. We observe the designed system succeeds delivering a good performance in terms of average accuracy determining car and motorcycle are 93.47% and 91.73%, respectively

The effect of perception justice and perceived value to satisfaction and its impact on giant hypermarket customer's response in surabaya and sidoarjo

Service is the main thing that customers need to achieve satisfaction. When customers are satisfied then the customer will give a positive response to the company, otherwise if the customer is not satisfied then the customer will give a negative response to the company. The purpose of this study is to test empirically about the influence of Justice and Perceptions of Value on Satisfaction and Its Impact on Customer Response Giant Hypermarket in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. This research uses primary data with survey method and use questionnaire. This study used 74 customers in Giant Hypermarket Surabaya and Sidoarjo. In this research use Endogen variable that is Perception of Value, and Perception of Justice, and Exogenous Variables are Satisfaction, Customer Citizenship Behavior, Repurchase Purpose, Word of Mouth Negative, and Complain's Complain. The result of the preparation of Warp PLS 6.0 that the Perception of Values influences Positive Significant to Customer Citizenship Behavior, and Satisfaction, while Perception of Justice has Positive Impact not Significant to Satisfaction, besides Satisfaction Positive Significant Impact on Customer Citizenship Behavior and Repurchase Intention, and Satisfaction impact not significant against the Word of Mouth Negative. These results explain that satisfaction is strongly influenced by the company's services one of which is the justice of the company and the value felt by the customer. ←9pt,Book Antiqua, Itali

Usability of multimedia-based technology in situational judgment test: literature review and survey on millennial generation

    Get PDF
In predicting and determining people's careers, various instrumentation and tools can be used. Instrumentation with descriptive stories and role plays is suitable to describe the conditions and situations of respondents. Situational Judgment Test (SJTs) is one of the tools that are used to see a person's tendency to act in certain situations. The research topic of SJTs is increased in the last few years. Most of them explore and investigate the validity of SJT such as the scoring method. However, only a few topics discuss the form of SJTs tools and questions. This study investigates the benefit of using a computer-based test and exploration of multimedia-based technology to enhance SJT. This study examines kinds of literature about SJTs topic and discusses related technology in STJs nowadays. This study also analyses what various parameters of digital media like a type of media and device, affection of sounds in the video, the user experience with media, and duration of video are the parameter. This research also collects 209 respondents to find out interaction between millennial generations and multimedia nowadays. The aim of this paper is to improve STJs’ contents using multimediabased technology

Image based indonesian fruit recognition using MPEG-7 color structure descriptor and k-nearest neighbor

    Get PDF
Image based fruit recognition can be applied in several sectors including food industry, food retail, and medical. This paper proposes a method to recognize Indonesian fruit from image. The method uses MPEG-7 Color Structure Descriptor (CSD) as input features to k-nearest neighbor classifier. CSD describes the local color structure of image in HMMD (Hue, Max, Min, and Difference) color space. In this study, the numbers of features extracted from a fruit image were 32, 64, 128, and 256. A simple feature selection method based on variance has been applied to reduce the dimension of input features and to increase classification performance. A feature with variance less than predefined threshold was excluded from feature space. Three hundred and fifty images from seven types of Indonesian fruit have been used to validate the proposed method using 10-fold cross validation. The experimental result showed that the best classification accuracy of 90.86% was achieved using 256 features of CSD combined with feature selection

Dye removal from wastewater using Moringa Oleifera seed shells based adsorbent

    Get PDF
The demand for cost-effective biomaterials-based techniques like adsorption and biosorption has led to the search for affordable biosorbents. Traditional dye removal methods in wastewater suffer from limitations like short usage life, high electricity costs, and ineffectiveness against specific dyes. This research focuses on studying the efficiency and effectiveness of Moringa Oleifera (MO) seed husks as a low-cost adsorbent in dye removal. The study involves employing chemical and physical activation steps, utilizing activating agents to enhance the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Design-Expert 13 software were used for process optimization, revealing the highest efficiency (37.83%) at an adsorbent dose of 0.125 g, pH 10, and 70 minutes of adsorption time. Equilibrium and rate of adsorption are studied through isotherm and kinetics studies, fitting Freundlich and pseudo-second order models respectively. As for the characterization of activated carbon, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) detected the presence of functional groups like O-H, C=C, and C=O bonds. The adsorbent's porous surface, observed through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), contributes to its substantial pollutant adsorption capacity

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is one of the predominant approaches to language teaching in tertiary education, since it is directed towards the specific needs of the particular specialty students. The aim of the present study is to report the results of an academic English needs analysis carried out at the State Islamic University, Malang (SIUM) Indonesia through two different majors, Islamic banking and management department. Through the implementation of a needs analysis questionnaire in ESP classes the felt academic needs of learners in terms of skills and sub-skills are specified. The results of the survey revealed that 24 (60%) respondents needed English for higher education. Twenty respondents (50%) claimed that they needed speaking as the priority for their future career. In addition, the students’ preferred learning indicated that pair work/group work, games and projects were more innovative learning. The paper concluded with some pedagogical implications to improve and develop ESP course material and methodology
