Investigation of Heterogeneous Approach to Fact Invention of Web UsersĆ¢ā¬ā¢ Web Access Behaviour
World Wide Web consists of a huge volume of different types of data. Web mining is one of the fields of data mining wherein there are different web services and a large number of web users. Web user mining is also one of the fields of web mining. The web usersĆ¢ā¬ā¢ information about the web access is collected through different ways. The most common technique to collect information about the web users is through web log file. There are several other techniques available to collect web usersĆ¢ā¬ā¢ web access information; they are through browser agent, user authentication, web review, web rating, web ranking and tracking cookies. The web users find it difficult to retrieve their required information in time from the web because of the huge volume of unstructured and structured information which increases the complexity of the web. Web usage mining is very much important for various purposes such as organizing website, business and maintenance service, personalization of website and reducing the network bandwidth. This paper provides an analysis about the web usage mining techniques.ĆĀ Ć
cANT WUM : WEB USERS CLASSIFICATION USING ANT COLONY OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM
Web Usage Mining (WUM) is the use of data mining methods to extract knowledge from web usage data. One function of WUM is to support Business Intelligence (BI) purpose in which one of the important information needed is the classification of web users that can be used for acquisition, penetration, and user retention activity. There are two main problems encountered in conducting the classification of web users. The first is the determination of antecedent attributes as a term of classification rules, which is a major problem in data mining classification function in general. The second problem is the preprocessing activity which involves preparing the supporting data for the web usersā classification need which is the most difficult stage in WUM.
For the web user classification method, we propose a classification method based on ant colony optimization method (ACO) as a distributed intelligent system using heuristic function which is in line with the problem areas. We proposed a heuristic functions for web user classification based on web usage data that uses entropy of antecedent candidate, information gain from attribute of total number of web user access and average of access duration of web user. For preprocessing purpose, a method of data preparation that can support the needs of web usersā classification is proposed. The data used consists of web access log data, web user profile data and web transaction data. The preprocessing activity consists of parsing, data cleansing, and extraction of the web user sessions using heuristic method concerning web page access timeout and differences in web browser agent.
Testing is done by comparing the performance of the proposed algorithm with Ant-Miner algorithm, cAnt-Miner algorithm, and the Continuous Ant-Miner algorithm. The results of testing of four web data shows that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better in terms of accuracy of rules and simplification of rules
Development of bambangan (Mangifera pajang) carbonated drink
Mangifera pajang Kostermans or bambangan is a popular fruit among Sabahan due
to its health and economic values. However, the fruit is not fully commercialized since it is
usually been used as traditional cuisine by local people. Thus, development of bambangan fruit
into carbonated drink was conducted to produce new product concept. The objectives of this
study were to conceptualize, formulate, evaluate consumer acceptance, and determine
physicochemical properties and nutritional composition of the accepted product. Method used
in conceptualising the product was based on questionnaire. The consumer acceptance was
evaluated based on descriptive and affective tests with four product formulations tested. The
physicochemical properties on carbon dioxide volume, colour, pH, total acidity, total soluble
solid (TSS) and viscosity were highlighted, meanwhile nutritional composition on fat, protein,
carbohydrates and energy content were determined. About 77% respondents gave positive
feedback, and 69% respondents decided this product is within their budget. The formulation of
5% bambangan pulp, 70% water, 25% sugar and 0.2% citric acid was highly accepted in
descriptive and affective tests with 4.4 and 6.39 mean scores, respectively. The
physicochemical properties and nutritional composition of the acceptance product were in
optimum value except for colour, total acidity and TSS. Overall, this study showed that the
product has high potential to be commercialized as new product concept, and heritage of
indigenous people can be preserved when this fruit is known regionally
Using Information Filtering in Web Data Mining Process
Web service-oriented Grid is becoming a standard for achieving loosely coupled distributed computing. Grid services could easily be specified with web-service based interfaces. In this paper we first envisage a realistic Grid market with players such as end-users, brokers and service providers participating co-operatively with an aim to meet requirements and earn profit. End-users wish to use functionality of Grid services by paying the minimum possible price or price confined within a specified budget, brokers aim to maximise profit whilst establishing a SLA (Service Level Agreement) and satisfying end-user needs and at the same time resisting the volatility of service execution time and availability. Service providers aim to develop price models based on end-user or broker demands that will maximise their profit. In this paper we focus on developing stochastic approaches to end-user workflow scheduling that provides QoS guarantees by establishing a SLA. We also develop a novel 2-stage stochastic programming technique that aims at establishing a SLA with end-users regarding satisfying their workflow QoS requirements. We develop a scheduling (workload allocation) technique based on linear programming that embeds the negotiated workflow QoS into the program and model Grid services as generalised queues. This technique is shown to outperform existing scheduling techniques that don't rely on real-time performance information
Datamining for Web-Enabled Electronic Business Applications
Web-Enabled Electronic Business is generating massive amount of data on customer purchases, browsing patterns, usage times and preferences at an increasing rate. Data mining techniques can be applied to all the data being collected for obtaining useful information. This chapter attempts to present issues associated with data mining for web-enabled electronic-business
Data mining technology for the evaluation of learning content interaction
Interactivity is central for the success of learning. In e-learning and other educational multimedia environments, the evaluation of interaction and behaviour is particularly crucial. Data mining ā a non-intrusive, objective analysis technology ā shall be proposed as the central evaluation technology for the analysis of the usage of computer-based educational environments and in particular of the interaction with educational content. Basic mining techniques are reviewed and their application in a Web-based third-level course environment is illustrated. Analytic models capturing interaction aspects from the application domain (learning) and the software infrastructure (interactive multimedia) are required for the meaningful interpretation of mining results
