Improved web page traverse using genetic algorithm

    Get PDF
Correct navigational behavior of a web application is essential to its reliability. An effective means to improving our confidence in the correct behavior of a web application is to test it by exploring the possible navigation among the web pages at the client side: The tester carries out the testing by consecutively clicking the hyperlinks along with some possible search parameters and checking whether the returned web pages are as expected. Traditional conformance testing techniques based on graph can be adopted in this setting to automatically generate suitable test sequences to traverse among client pages. In this thesis, we present an improvement on T-method for test sequence generation to reduce considerably its length by making use of a genetic algorithm. Our experiments show a 340%-68% saving on the test sequence lengths compared to the direct application of T-method

ISO/IEC 9126 Quality Model for Evaluation of Student Academic Portal

    Get PDF
The papers discuss and evaluate the quality of student academic portal using ISO / IEC 9126 quality modeling approach. Quality factors are tested and analyzed are characteristics of Usability, Reliability, Efficiency, and Portability, this evaluation is very important, considering the number of users of the portal system so much and growing. one of the efforts to improve and optimize the performance of the academic information system management team. Evaluate the quality of the user perception approach 10 principles of usability heuristics and internal site performance testing or web server. The results of analysis and testing of 4 quality characteristics have issued several recommendations for improvement and optimization of the performance of student academic portals

Using the ISO/IEC 9126 product quality model to classify defects : a Controlled Experiment

Background: Existing software defect classification schemes support multiple tasks, such as root cause analysis and process improvement guidance. However, existing schemes do not assist in assigning defects to a broad range of high level software goals, such as software quality characteristics like functionality, maintainability, and usability. Aim: We investigate whether a classification based on the ISO/IEC 9126 software product quality model is reliable and useful to link defects to quality aspects impacted. Method: Six different subjects, divided in two groups with respect to their expertise, classified 78 defects from an industrial web application using the ISO/IEC 9126 quality main characteristics and sub-characteristics, and a set of proposed extended guidelines. Results: The ISO/IEC 9126 model is reasonably reliable when used to classify defects, even using incomplete defect reports. Reliability and variability is better for the six high level main characteristics of the model than for the 22 sub- characteristics. Conclusions: The ISO/IEC 9126 software quality model provides a solid foundation for defect classification. We also recommend, based on the follow up qualitative analysis performed, to use more complete defect reports and tailor the quality model to the context of us

Analysis of Visual Communication of Telkom University Endowment and Alumni Directorate Based on User Satisfaction Level using The User Satisfaction Index Method

Most of the universities in Indonesia, especially private universities rely on tuition fees as the main income for their operational cost., one of the solutions is the Endowment Fund, Telkom university has it, namely Endowment and Alumni Directorate (EAD) of Telkom University. Telkom University has managed the Endowment Fund program, but until now it has not been very successful, because the achievement of the target funds collected is far under target. The results of the initial identification show that one of the main media for promotion is the website of the Telkom University Endowment and Alumni Directorate. In this study, prospective donors were assessed on the appearance, content, and message delivered on the website of Telkom University Endowment and Alumni Directorate using the user satisfaction index method. The result of the USI index is 43.64% of overall user assessment of the website, which indicates that the website is still low. Keywords- Endowment Fund, User Satisfaction Index, WebQual 4.
