    A safe basis for automatic loop parallelization is the polyhedron model which represents the iteration domain of a loop nest as a polyhedron in Zn\mathbb{Z}^n. However, turning the parallel loop program in the model to efficient code meets with several obstacles, due to which performance may deteriorate seriously -- especially on distributed memory architectures. Teknologian oinarritutako hezkuntzarako tresnen Domeinu Modulu Eleaniztunak testuliburu elektronikoetatik era automatikoan erauztea ahalbidetzen du LiDOM Builderek. Ezagutza eskuratzeko, Hizkuntzaren Prozesamendurako eta Ikaste Automatikorako teknikekin batera, hainbat baliabide eleaniztun erabiltzen ditu, besteak beste, Wikipedia eta WordNet.Domeinu Modulu Elebakarretik Domeinu Modulu Eleaniztunerako bidean, LiDOM Builder tresna DOM-Sortze ingurunearen (Larrañaga, 2012; Larrañaga et al., 2014) bilakaera dela esan genezake. Horretarako, LiDOM Builderek domeinua ikuspegi eleaniztun batetik adieraztea ahalbidetzen duen mekanismoa dakar. Domeinu Modulu Eleaniztunak bi maila ezberdinetako ezagutza jasotzen du: Ikaste Domeinuaren Ontologia (IDO), non hizkuntza ezberdinetan etiketatutako topikoak eta hauen arteko erlazio pedagogikoak jasotzen baitira, eta Ikaste Objektuak (IO), hau da, metadatuekin etiketatutako baliabide didaktikoen bilduma, hizkuntza horietan. LiDOM Builderek onartutako hizkuntza guztietan domeinuaren topikoak adierazteko aukera ematen du. Topiko bakoitza lotuta dago dagokion hizkuntzako bere etiketa baliokidearekin. Gainera, IOak deskribatzeko metadatu aberastuak erabiltzen ditu hizkuntza desberdinetan parekideak diren baliabide didaktikoak lotzeko.LiDOM Builderen, hasiera batean, domeinu-modulua hizkuntza jakin batean idatzitako dokumentu batetik erauziko da eta, baliabide eleaniztunak erabiliko dira, gerora, bai topikoak bai IOak beste hizkuntzetan ere lortzeko.     Fortran 90 is the actual standard in term of data parallel language for scientific computing. To develop a data parallel algorithm on a distributed memory machine, programmers generally use the High Performance Fortran extension of Fortran 90, in particular the data mapping directives. HPF-Builder graphical environment goal is to free the HPF programmers of all the syntactic constraints due to the data mapping. All the data distributions and alignments are insured in an interactive and visual way. HPF templates and processors become the visual support for alignments of arrays and distributions on grids of processors. HPF-Builder automatically generates the corresponding HPF directives and inserts them in the Fortran 90 source code. It results in a HPF code

    Semi-automatic generation of learning domain modules for technology supported learning systems

    In a time when Technology Supported Learning Systems are being widely used, there is a lack of tools that allows their development in an automatic or semi-automatic way. Technology Supported Learning Systems require an appropriate Domain Module, ie. the pedagogical representation of the domain to be mastered, in order to be effective. However, content authoring is a time and effort consuming task, therefore, efforts in automatising the Domain Module acquisition are necessary.Traditionally, textbooks have been used as the main mechanism to maintain and transmit the knowledge of a certain subject or domain. Textbooks have been authored by domain experts who have organised the contents in a means that facilitate understanding and learning, considering pedagogical issues.Given that textbooks are appropriate sources of information, they can be used to facilitate the development of the Domain Module allowing the identification of the topics to be mastered and the pedagogical relationships among them, as well as the extraction of Learning Objects, ie. meaningful fragments of the textbook with educational purpose.Consequently, in this work DOM-Sortze, a framework for the semi-automatic construction of Domain Modules from electronic textbooks, has been developed. DOM-Sortze uses NLP techniques, heuristic reasoning and ontologies to fulfill its work. DOM-Sortze has been designed and developed with the aim of automatising the development of the Domain Module, regardless of the subject, promoting the knowledge reuse and facilitating the collaboration of the users during the process

    Virtual Prototyping Methodology for Power Automation Cyber-Physical-Systems

    In this thesis, the author proposes a circular system development model which considers all the stages in a typical development process for industrial systems. In particular, the present work shows that the use of virtual prototyping at early stages of the system development may reduce the overall design and verification effort by allowing the exploration of the complete system architecture, and uncovering integration issues early on. The modeling techniques of this research are based on VHDL-AMS, yet supporting other modeling languages such as C/C++, SPICE, and Verilog-AMS, together with integrated simulation tools. Contrasting with conventional approaches, it is shown that the proposed methodology is adapted for small-scale Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) design and verification thanks to the modularity and scalability of the modeling approach. The proposed modeling techniques enable seamlessly the CPS design together with the implementation of their subsystems. In particular, the contribution of this work improves the virtual prototyping approach that has been successfully used during the development of smart electrical sensors and monitoring equipment for high and medium voltage applications. The design of the measurement and self-calibration circuits of a medium voltage current sensor based on the Rogowski coil transducer is presented as an example. The proposed small-scale CPS design methodology based on virtual prototyping, namely VP-based design methodology, uses important theoretical concepts from layered design, component-based design, and platform-based design. These foundations are the basis to build a modeling methodology that provides a vehicle that can be used to improve system verification towards correct-by-design systems. The main contributions of this research are: the re-definition of the system development lifecycle by using a virtual prototyping methodology; the design and implementation of a model library that maximizes the reuse of computational models and their related IP; and a set of VHDL-AMS modeling guidelines established with the purpose of improving the modularity and scalability of virtual prototypes. These elements are key for supporting the introduction of virtual prototyping into industrial companies that can thoroughly profit from this approach, but cannot commit a specific team to the creation, support, and maintenance of computational models and its dedicated infrastructure. Thanks to the progressive nature of the proposed methodology, virtual prototypes can indeed be introduced with relatively low initial effort and enhanced over time. The presented methodology and its infrastructure may grow into a bidirectional communication medium between non-expert system designers (i.e. system architects and virtual integrators) and domain specialists such as mechanical designers, power electrical designers, embedded-electronics designers, and software designers. The proposed design methodology advocates the reduction of the CPS design complexity by the implementation of a meet-in-the-middle approach for system-level modeling. In this direction, the modeling techniques introduced in this work facilitate the architectural design space exploration, critical cross-domain variable analysis (especially important in the component interfaces), and system-level optimization and verification

Do ponto de vista conceitual, posso dizer que a obra filosófica de Deleuze e Guattari é o ponto de encontro e divergência deste ensaio, que tem, quanto às filosofias da representação, uma postura crítica. À orientação axiomática dos estudos de Gorbman e de grande parte das doxas técnicas do campo da film music, procuro especificar uma nova analítica da imagem, especialmente com relação a aquelas que implicam uma nova pedagogia, como em inúmeros casos de Godard, Resnais, Robbe-Grillet, Duras, Herzog, Bresson, Tarkovski e mesmo Pasolini. Nestes casos, em que as analíticas, axiomaticamente fundadas no bom senso e no senso comum, vêem-se claramente fragilizadas ou desfavorecidas, o recurso involuntário ao pensamento (dito aqui sem imagem) instaura uma urgência na qual sujeito, objeto e método nascem concomitantemente. Segundo o posicionamento anti-fenomenológico de Deleuze, nestes casos já não é à intencionalidade da consciência "vígil, clara e distinta" que nos lançamos, mas a um campo transcendental, impessoal, crepuscular, "distinto e obscuro" cujos volumes e paisagens testemunham as mais acrobáticas posições do pensamento - que encontra, nas intensidades, o objeto de seu verdadeiro exercício. Trata-se, aqui, de uma grande empiria que já não visa a um repertório concreto de usos ou a um campo abstrato de possíveis, mas a meadas de mundos, autênticos e (muitos deles) incompossíveis. Sob este ponto de vista, o tema sofre uma reversão em direção à arte mostrando que, se na cinematografia publicitária as moedas de troca são as opiniões, percepções e afecções ordinárias, na arte toda moeda é, em si, uma coleção impessoal e paradoxal de afectos, perceptos e sensações, que será preciso, em cada caso, reconhecer, ainda que pela primeira vezAbstract: This work is, partially, an exploration of the advertising field, focusing on the particular manners in which music is used in its cinematography. From a conceptual point of view, it could be said that the philosophical work of Deleuze & Guattari is the point of encounter and divergence of this essay, which has a critical posture towards the philosophies of representation. In opposition to Gorbman's studies axiomatic orientation, and to most of the technical doxologies on the film music field, I tried suggesting a new analytical approach to the image (cartography), especially in relation to those cases in which a new "pedagogy" is established, such as the numerous cases found in Godard, Resnais, Robbe-Grillet, Duras, Herzog, Bresson, Tarkovski, and even Pasolini. In these cases, in which analytical models - axiomatically founded on common and good senses - see themselves clearly weakened and unfavoured, the involuntary trigger to transcendental thinking (said here imageless) sets a problematic state of urgency in which subject, object and method unfold reciprocally and immediately. According to the anti-phenomenological position of Deleuze, in these cases we are not concerned, as usual, with the vigil, clear and distinct aspects of consciousness, but with an impersonal, crepuscular, "distinct and obscure" transcendental field, whose volumes and landscapes witness the most acrobatic postures of thought - that finds, in the intensities (that flow in this field), the precise object of its very exercise. The concern, here, is with an ample empiria that doesn't care for organizing concrete cases or, conversely, an abstract field of possibilities, but spoors of worlds, authentic and (many of them) incompossible. From this point of view, our subject suffers a sudden reorientation towards art, revealing that, if in advertising cinematography the opinions, perceptions and affections are the currency of trade, in art, every coin is, in itself, an impersonal and paradoxical collection of affects, percepts and sensations, that we might recognize, even as if for the first timeMestradoMestre em Músic
