    Exploring the transition from techno centric industry 4.0 towards value centric industry 5.0: a systematic literature review

    This systematic literature review synthesises the literature on human centric IN 4.0 and IN 5.0 while exploring driving forces behind the transition from technocentric IN 4.0 to value centric IN 5.0 using the principles of the multiple level perspective (MLP). Works that discuss contextual, regime and niche level factors which impact on the transition were explored. The Covid- 19 pandemic and Climate change are identified as key contextual, ‘Landscape’, factors impacting the transition while Trust, Mass personalisation and Autonomy are highlighted as key Regime factors. In terms of Niche innovations, Advanced Extended reality technologies, Cobots/ Advanced Robotics, and Advanced AI are often connected with landscape or regime issues. Drawing on MLP theory, the study demonstrates that the transition from IN 4.0 towards IN 5.0 is occurring through a reconfiguration pattern. The paper further emphasises aspects that both practitioners and academics need to be cognisant of in order to affect a transition from IN 4.0 to IN 5.0

    Debates around the negative impacts on natural and social environments are increasingly gaining relevance in marketing strategies in different sectors, requiring the development of responsible approaches. Under the theme “Trends and Responsible Approaches in Tourism”, the International Association of Public and Non-Profit Marketing (AIMPN / IAPNM), together with the Faculty of Economics and the Research Centre in Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being (CinTurs), University of Algarve, Portugal, organized the XIV International Congress on Teaching Cases Related to Public and Non-profit Marketing. The Congress took place on December 16, 2022, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Algarve, Portugal, virtually. The objective of this annual Congress is to disseminate case studies referring to activities of non- profit organizations, public institutions or companies. This book presents 53 cases peer-reviewed by a scientific committee and selected from the presentations performed by over 100 participants from diverse nationalities during this event. The Congress aims to disseminate best practices referring to activities of non-profit organizations, public institutions and companies and is addressed to students, teachers and professionals. Based on topics around non-profit, social and public marketing, examples of good practices carried out by third-sector organizations, companies and public organizations emerge. This approach, which is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, offers discussions supporting future marketing strategies that can contribute to a better society. They are places of social aggregation, bringing together those belonging to different classes, genders, ages, ethnicities and nationalities.     The Vibrancy and Resilience of British High Streets

    British high streets have endured significant economic and cultural challenges both in the leadup to and as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The volatile and challenging socio-economic environment has been brought about by the lingering effects of the 2008 recession, high business rates, competition from online retailers, and the impact and implications of the global pandemic. The changes to the high street retail landscape have been recorded using new sources of data that can supplement traditional data sources such as local government retail surveys. New sources of data such as consumer data, property portal data and mobility data are more spatially and temporally granular. As a result, local governments, the retail sector and stakeholders can use these emerging forms of data to create more easily updateable measures of high street composition and performance. This thesis utilises the Local Data Company’s Britain-wide database on retail location, type and vacancy. The data ranges between the start of 2017 and June of 2021, containing around 800,000 records of occupiers. The analysis within this thesis starts by describing the composition and vibrancy of British high streets in the lead-up to the pandemic. Next, the thesis provides an evaluation of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent shift towards remote working on the viable resilience of commuter towns. This section is followed by an exploration of the short-term impacts of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions on the resilience of Britain’s high streets. Finally, the application of new forms of data in informing local government high street regeneration policy is studied as part of a knowledge exchange with the London Borough of Camden. This thesis contributes to our understanding of how the circumstances of different British high streets can be monitored and mapped, with the goal of improving understanding of vibrancy, resilience, and potential for regeneration
