M-SSE: an effective searchable symmetric encryption with enhanced security for mobile devices
Searchable Encryption (SE) allows mobile devices with limited computing and storage resources to outsource data to an untrusted cloud server. Users are able to search and retrieve the outsourced, however, it suffers from information and privacy leakage. The reason is that most of the previous works rely on the single cloud model, which allows that the cloud server get all the search information from users. In this paper, we present a new scheme M-SSE that achieves both forward and backward security based on a multi-cloud technique. The new scheme is secure against both adaptive file injection attack and size pattern attack by utilizing multiple cloud servers. Experiment results show that our scheme is effective compared with the other existing schemes
Secure Data Transactions based on Hash Coded Starvation Blockchain Security using Padded Ring Signature-ECC for Network of Things
Blockchain is one of the decentralized processes in a worldview that works with parallel and distributed ledger technology, the application process, and service-oriented design. To propose a Secure data Transaction based on Hash coded Starvation Blockchain security using Padded Ring signature-ECC for Network of Things. Initially, the crypto policy is authenticated based on the user-owner shared resource policy and access rights. This creates a Public blockchain environment with a P2P Blockchain network. The owner encrypts the data using optimized ECC through Hash-coded Starvation Blockchain security (HCSBS). This makes the encrypted block's provable partition chain Link (P2CL). The encrypted blocks are transmitted into the network of nodes monitored by NoT. During the data transmission, the Network of Things monitors the transaction flow to verify the authenticity over the network of nodes. The monitored data be securely stored in transaction Block storage with the hash-indexed block with chain ring policy (HICLP). This creates controller node aggregation over the transaction environment to securely transfer the data to the peer end. The User gets the access Key to decrypt the data with policy aggregated shared resource policy to access the data. The proposed system produces high security as well compared to the previous design
Secure data sharing in cloud computing: a comprehensive review
Cloud Computing is an emerging technology, which relies on sharing computing resources. Sharing of data in the group is not secure as the cloud provider cannot be trusted. The fundamental difficulties in distributed computing of cloud suppliers is Data Security, Sharing, Resource scheduling and Energy consumption. Key-Aggregate cryptosystem used to secure private/public data in the cloud. This key is consistent size aggregate for adaptable decisions of ciphertext in cloud storage. Virtual Machines (VMs) provisioning is effectively empowered the cloud suppliers to effectively use their accessible resources and get higher benefits. The most effective method to share information resources among the individuals from the group in distributed storage is secure, flexible and efficient. Any data stored in different cloud data centers are corrupted, recovery using regenerative coding. Security is provided many techniques like Forward security, backward security, Key-Aggregate cryptosystem, Encryption and Re-encryption etc. The energy is reduced using Energy-Efficient Virtual Machines Scheduling in Multi-Tenant Data Centers
A Practical Framework for Storing and Searching Encrypted Data on Cloud Storage
Security has become a significant concern with the increased popularity of
cloud storage services. It comes with the vulnerability of being accessed by
third parties. Security is one of the major hurdles in the cloud server for the
user when the user data that reside in local storage is outsourced to the
cloud. It has given rise to security concerns involved in data confidentiality
even after the deletion of data from cloud storage. Though, it raises a serious
problem when the encrypted data needs to be shared with more people than the
data owner initially designated. However, searching on encrypted data is a
fundamental issue in cloud storage. The method of searching over encrypted data
represents a significant challenge in the cloud.
Searchable encryption allows a cloud server to conduct a search over
encrypted data on behalf of the data users without learning the underlying
plaintexts. While many academic SE schemes show provable security, they usually
expose some query information, making them less practical, weak in usability,
and challenging to deploy. Also, sharing encrypted data with other authorized
users must provide each document's secret key. However, this way has many
limitations due to the difficulty of key management and distribution.
We have designed the system using the existing cryptographic approaches,
ensuring the search on encrypted data over the cloud. The primary focus of our
proposed model is to ensure user privacy and security through a less
computationally intensive, user-friendly system with a trusted third party
entity. To demonstrate our proposed model, we have implemented a web
application called CryptoSearch as an overlay system on top of a well-known
cloud storage domain. It exhibits secure search on encrypted data with no
compromise to the user-friendliness and the scheme's functional performance in
real-world applications.Comment: 146 Pages, Master's Thesis, 6 Chapters, 96 Figures, 11 Table
TSKY: a dependable middleware solution for data privacy using public storage clouds
Dissertação para obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Engenharia InformáticaThis dissertation aims to take advantage of the virtues offered by data storage cloud based systems on the Internet, proposing a solution that avoids security issues by combining different providers’ solutions in a vision of a cloud-of-clouds storage and computing. The solution, TSKY System (or Trusted Sky), is implemented as a middleware system, featuring a set of components designed to establish and to enhance conditions for security, privacy, reliability and availability of data, with these conditions being secured and verifiable by the end-user, independently of each provider. These components, implement cryptographic tools, including threshold and homomorphic cryptographic schemes, combined with encryption, replication, and dynamic indexing mecha-nisms. The solution allows data management and distribution functions over data kept in different storage clouds, not necessarily trusted, improving and ensuring resilience and security guarantees against Byzantine faults and at-tacks. The generic approach of the TSKY system model and its implemented services are evaluated in the context of a Trusted Email Repository System (TSKY-TMS System). The TSKY-TMS system is a prototype that uses the base TSKY middleware services to store mailboxes and email Messages in a cloud-of-clouds

Software Protection and Secure Authentication for Autonomous Vehicular Cloud Computing
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing every technology we deal with. Autonomy has been a sought-after goal in vehicles, and now more than ever we are very close to that goal. Vehicles before were dumb mechanical devices, now they are becoming smart, computerized, and connected coined as Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). Moreover, researchers found a way to make more use of these enormous capabilities and introduced Autonomous Vehicles Cloud Computing (AVCC). In these platforms, vehicles can lend their unused resources and sensory data to join AVCC.
In this dissertation, we investigate security and privacy issues in AVCC. As background, we built our vision of a layer-based approach to thoroughly study state-of-the-art literature in the realm of AVs. Particularly, we examined some cyber-attacks and compared their promising mitigation strategies from our perspective. Then, we focused on two security issues involving AVCC: software protection and authentication.
For the first problem, our concern is protecting client’s programs executed on remote AVCC resources. Such a usage scenario is susceptible to information leakage and reverse-engineering. Hence, we proposed compiler-based obfuscation techniques. What distinguishes our techniques, is that they are generic and software-based and utilize the intermediate representation, hence, they are platform agnostic, hardware independent and support different high level programming languages. Our results demonstrate that the control-flow of obfuscated code versions are more complicated making it unintelligible for timing side-channels.
For the second problem, we focus on protecting AVCC from unauthorized access or intrusions, which may cause misuse or service disruptions. Therefore, we propose a strong privacy-aware authentication technique for users accessing AVCC services or vehicle sharing their resources with the AVCC. Our technique modifies robust function encryption, which protects stakeholder’s confidentiality and withstands linkability and “known-ciphertexts” attacks. Thus, we utilize an authentication server to search and match encrypted data by performing dot product operations. Additionally, we developed another lightweight technique, based on KNN algorithm, to authenticate vehicles at computationally limited charging stations using its owner’s encrypted iris data. Our security and privacy analysis proved that our schemes achieved privacy-preservation goals. Our experimental results showed that our schemes have reasonable computation and communications overheads and efficiently scalable
