Abstract—In a corporate environment the computer is an absolute tool used for the implementation of computerbased information systems become an absolute necessity and can provide a competitive advantage, so it gets high priorities. With the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to support the description and design of software systems, especially systems that are built using object-oriented programming. To achieve progress in terms of services and facilitate the work, it is necessary to repair, especially in companies engaged in services as one of the security services. Start of the process of securing approval of a proposal by the company's service users, Recruitment security (security), selection, training, job placement company security personnel to service users through the reporting process. Abstract—In a corporate environment the computer is an absolute tool used for the implementation of computerbased information systems become an absolute necessity and can provide a competitive advantage, so it gets high priorities. Global communication part 1: the use of apparel CAD technology

    Get PDF
Trends needed for improved communication systems, through the development of future computer-aided design technology (CAD) applications, is a theme that has received attention due to its perceived benefits in improving global supply chain efficiencies. This article discusses the developments of both 2D and 3D computer-aided design capabilities, found within global fashion supply chain relationships and environments. Major characteristics identified within the data suggest that CAD/CAM technology appears to be improving; however, evidence also suggest a plateau effect, which is accrediting forced profits towards information technology manufactures, and arguably compromising the industry's competitive advantage. Nevertheless, 2D CAD increases communication speed; whereas 3D human interaction technology is seen to be evolving slowly and questionably with limited success. The article discusses the findings and also presents the issues regarding human interaction; technology education; and individual communication enhancements using technology processes. These are still prevalent topics for the future developments of global strategy and cultural communication amalgamation

Simulation of speed control brushless DC motor using gaussian fuzzy logic controller

    Get PDF
This paper presents a control scheme of a Fuzzy Logic for the brushless direct current (BLDC) motor drives. The BLDC motor has some advantages compare to others type of motors. However, the nonlinearity of this motor drive characteristics cause it is difficult to handle using conventional proportional-integral-differential (PID) controller. In order to overcome this main problem, Fuzzy Logic controller with a Gaussian membership function is developed. The mathematical model of BLDC motor is derived. The controller is designed to tracks variations of speed references and stabilizes the output speed during load variations. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by develop simulation model in Matlab Simulink software. The simulation results show that the proposed Fuzzy Logic controller (FLC) produce significant improvement control performance compare to the PID controller for both condition controlling speed reference variations and load disturbance variations

International Human Resource Studies: A Framework for Future Research

    Get PDF
[Excerpt] The purpose of this paper is to develop a theoretical framework for research in a broadened and redefined field of international human resource studies. Interest in international aspects of human resource management (HRM) and policy has increased markedly in recent years\u27. This should not be surprising, given the growing importance of international economic activity in general, and, in particular, the increased mobility of technology, capital, and human resources across national boundaries. We are concerned that current research falling under this label is both too narrowly conceived and ignores important work from allied areas and disciplines. We also believe that the theoretical appeal and practical value of this work would be strengthened by includng contributions from a broader array of scholars, policy makers, and practitioners who share interests in employment and industrial relations issues

Assessing Destination Competitiveness: An Application to the Hot Springs Tourism Sector

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a model to identify the factors determining the competitiveness of the hot springs tourism sector, with particular application to Taiwan. The proposed conceptual framework brings together two approaches, namely the theories of industry organization (10) and the resource-based view (RBV). The proposition underlying this framework is that destination competitiveness is achieved by the adoption of policies and strategies aligned with market opportunities, drawing upon the unique or distinctive tourism features offered by the destination. It is proposed that three major influences are evident in the case of hot springs tourism, namely Tourism Destination Resources and Attractors, Tourism Destination Strategies and Tourism Destination Environments. An evaluation is provided of the administration of a three-round Delphi survey, which was intended to validate the determinants of destination competitiveness that were derived from the literature. Drawing upon the results of the pilot study it is concluded that the development of a sector-specific model of destination competitiveness is capable of capturing the nature and characteristics of the hot springs tourism sector

Rethinking International Compensation: From Expatriate and National Cultures to Strategic Flexibility

    Get PDF
[Excerpt] We are on the verge of a worldwide restructuring of compensation and reward systems. Even long established, seemingly carved-in-granite cultural norms, such as lifetime employment in Japan and industry-wide bargaining in Germany, are weakening in response to the pressures of a global economy. So also are our previously hard-and-fast assumptions about international compensation -- the idea that pay systems should keep expatriates “economically whole” and the notion that local compensation should be tailored to fit national cultures

eEnabled internet distribution for small and medium sized hotels: the case of hospitality SMEs in Athens

    Get PDF
Advances in information and communications technologies (ICTs) have strategic implications for a wide range of industries. Tourism and hospitality have dramatically changed by the ICTs and the Internet and gradually emerge as the leading industry on online expenditure. The Internet revolutionised traditional distribution models, enabled new entries propelled both disintermediation and reintermediation and altered the sources of competitive advantage. This paper explores the strategic implications of ICTs and the perceived advantages and disadvantages of Internet distribution for small and medium-sized hospitality enterprises (SMEs). Primary research in Athens hotels demonstrates the effects of the Internet and ICTs for secondary markets, where there is lower penetration and ICT adoption. Interviews and questionnaires identified a number of strategies in order to optimise distribution. The analysis illustrates the strategic role of ICTs and the Internet for hospitality organisations and Small and Medium-sized organisations in general. Most hotels employ a distribution mix that determines the level and employment of the Internet. The paper demonstrates that only organisations that use ICTs strategically will be able to develop their electronic distribution and achieve competitive advantages in the future

Restructuring of Human Resource Management in the United States

[Excerpt] Change is endemic to market-based economies and consequently to the employment relationships embedded in them. Hence, it is yesterday\u27s news that the terms and conditions under which people work in the United States are changing. Historically, the pace of this change has varied. But the restructuring of capital assets eventually affects the relations between employees and employers
