Internalization of the Structural Properties of WH-Questions: A Remedial Programme through Curricular Intervention
Teaching of a second or foreign language has always had grammar at its controversial core and the numerable issues arising out of it usually dominate theory, research and practice. Still, teaching of second language grammar evades the triangular network of theory-researchpractice. This paper singles out one hard spot for beginners (may be of primary level, but found in advanced learners, as well), namely the presence/absence of the auxiliary verb do in its past and present tense forms in WH-questions. The paper identifies the source and nature of the hard spot, presents it in terms of metalinguistic (grammatical) competence for teachers and communicative competence for learners. The paper has its theoretical basis on the fusion of three pedagogic constructs namely, curricular intervention, instructed learning and learner autonomy. It has also tried to establish the author’s conviction, though indirectly, that instead of waiting for a new method to come or trying any single method of the past, a judicious selection and fusion of elements from the practised methods of the past may work better in terms of learning outcomes
Level up learning: a national survey on teaching with digital games
Digital games have the potential to transform K-12 education as we know it. But what has been the real experience among teachers who use games in the classroom? In 2013, the Games and Learning Publishing Council conducted a national survey among nearly 700 K-8 teachers. The report reveals key findings from the survey, and looks at how often and why teachers use games in the classroom, as well as issues they encounter in their efforts to implement digital games into their practice
SEPULUH UNSUR PENGOPTIMAL METODE DRIL DAN PENGUASAAN HAFALAN BAHASA MANDARIN KOMPREHENSIF
This study discusses the advantages and optimization of the drill method in the memorization process for mastery of Mandarin. The drill method that does not require additional media, and only relies on the five human senses is an advantage that deserves to be maximized. This study aims to offer ten elements that can encourage better results in the process of memorizing Mandarin with the drill method. By using qualitative research methods, elements, such as, relying on continuity, familiarizing with Mandarin language culture, determining the appropriate mindset for improving mastery of Mandarin memorization with the dril method, are a summary of the results in the elements offered and in the discussion will be presented with in-depth elaboration
A Proposal for the Development of a Computer Literacy Curriculum in the Charleston School District
The purpose of this study was to develop a computer literacy infusion plan for Community Unit School District Number One in Charleston, Illinois. The plan was developed to extend and build upon the existing computer usage study prepared in 1982. Specifically, this plan was prepared to provide direction and recommendations in the form of curriculum development, planning for staff development, and improved software and hardware selection processes for the elementary schools in Charleston.
A review of the research and literature revealed that the computer and its use has developed at a remarkable rate since the late 1970\u27s. Successful projects throughout the country were studied closely in order to identify ideas which could be useful to the Charleston schools.
An infusion plan was designed and implemented in the author\u27s second grade classroom with the idea that if the plan was successful, it could serve as a model for grades K-6 in the Charleston school district. Objectives, lesson plans, activities and evaluation instruments were developed and utilized during the 1983-84 school year. The plan was designed to answer the following questions: Can young students learn to use correct terminology to describe the different components of computer systems? Can young children learn to handle, load, and interact with appropriate software? Can young children learn to discuss verbally three ways in which computers are used in society? Can young children learn simple programming and write their own programs on the computer?
Based on the positive results of the plan, implementation of a computer literacy curriculum was determined to be feasible. A suggested outline and scope and sequence for computer literacy in grades K-6 was presented.
A list of recommendations for Community Unit School District Number One was then presented. These recommendations concerned the following areas: formation of a microcomputer committee staff development selection of hardware selection of software computer-assisted instruction
Finally, it was concluded that in order for any school district to enter the computer age successfully, careful planning and preparation are necessary
Measurement in Electrical Engineering – Digital Learning Materials
NavĂc práce obsahuje dva návrhy digitálnĂho uÄŤebnĂho materiálu, prezentaci a pracovnĂ list. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present theoretical background for creating Digital Learning Materials for subject “Measurement in Electrical Engineering”. The work focuses on the concept of digital learning materials and on the design methodology of digital learning materials. The thesis describes the learning requirements of the subject (“Measurement in Electrical Engineering”), necessary theoretical basis for creating didactic text and design requirements. Additionally, this bachelor thesis presents two designs of digital learning material, presentation and worksheet.
Are OBL and Mission Command the same thing? An analysis with special emphasis on the leadership techniques of the German and Norwegian Armies.
Dette er en engelsk gjengivelse av originaloppgaven pĂĄ tysk (Sind OBL und FĂĽhren mit Auftrag das Gleiche? http://hdl.handle.net/11250/2408644 ), oversatt av forfatteren selv.
