STABILITY ANALYSIS OF PERIODIC AND ALMOST-PERIODIC DISCRETE SWITCHED LINEAR SYSTEM

    Get PDF
This article shows a connection between the boundedness and uniform exponential stability of linear discrete switched system in the space of periodic and almost-periodic sequences. Comprehensively, we prove that a linear discrete switched system is uniformly exponentially stable if and only if the Cauchy problem has bounded solution

In particular, an urgent need has arisen to understand the effects of communication processes on system performances. Sampling and protocol are two fundamental aspects of a communication process which have attracted a great deal of research attention. Most research focus has been on the analysis and control of dynamical behaviors under certain sampling procedures and communication protocols. In this paper, we aim to survey some recent advances on the analysis and synthesis issues of NCSs with different sampling procedures (time-and event-driven sampling) and protocols (static and dynamic protocols). First, these sampling procedures and protocols are introduced in detail according to their engineering backgrounds as well as dynamic natures. Then, the developments of the stabilization, control, and filtering problems are systematically reviewed and discussed in great detail. Finally, we conclude the paper by outlining future research challenges for analysis and synthesis problems of NCSs with different communication processes. This work was supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants 61329301, 61374127, and 61374010, the Royal Society of the UK, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany

A Gel'fand-type spectral radius formula and stability of linear constrained switching systems

    Get PDF
Using ergodic theory, in this paper we present a Gel'fand-type spectral radius formula which states that the joint spectral radius is equal to the generalized spectral radius for a matrix multiplicative semigroup \bS^+ restricted to a subset that need not carry the algebraic structure of \bS^+. This generalizes the Berger-Wang formula. Using it as a tool, we study the absolute exponential stability of a linear switched system driven by a compact subshift of the one-sided Markov shift associated to \bS.Comment: 16 pages; to appear in Linear Algebra and its Application

Almost periodic solutions of retarded SICNNs with functional response on piecewise constant argument

    Get PDF
We consider a new model for shunting inhibitory cellular neural networks, retarded functional differential equations with piecewise constant argument. The existence and exponential stability of almost periodic solutions are investigated. An illustrative example is provided.Comment: 24 pages, 1 figur
