    Do you want your fate to be determined by a person who moves with the feeling, probably makes irrational decisions or is self-interested; or by an artificial intelligence that will always give priority to the common interests of the stakeholders in their decisions? The artificial intelligence applications developed to manifest human-like behaviours are expected to reach above the human level. It is only a matter of time. Therefore, the definition of management will eventually evolve. This paper discusses and suggests the elements that are required to be included in the new definition of management. Since the definition of future management is a challenging and disputed task, this paper aims to pave the way for a perfect definition of management that belongs to the age of artificial intelligence. As a result, in the perspective of evolution of human consciousness and emergence of management, and also considering the continuation of the evolution in inorganic domain, a new definition of management was suggested

    A New Zealand ITQ Fishery with an In-Season Stock Externality

    Abstract This paper explores the economic performance of a fishery that operates under an individual transferable quota (ITQs) management system and that is subject to an in-season stock externality. While Boyce (1992) and others have established theoretically that ITQ management is not fully efficient under all conditions, this is the first study that empirically estimates the efficiency losses due to an in-season stock externality in an actual fishery. We study the New Zealand southern scallop fishery, which has been under ITQ management since 1992. Our analysis provides evidence of a race-to-fish in the fishery, and estimates that individual firm profits were approximately 2,300and2,300 and 2,000 (20% and 10%) less in 1996 and 1997, respectively, than they would have been under optimal management.     Investigate waste management issue in Mexico Restaurant

    Reliable data on waste management and controlling waste will be illuminated in an effective way to suggest better waste management practices in the hospitality industry in New Zealand. This research suggests effective steps to regain and minimize the waste produced in Mexico restaurant, which is located in Victoria Street, Hamilton. To obtain the data, interviews and observation were the preliminary methods used in this research to clearly understand the main cause of the problem by the organisation in terms of waste. This research has covered waste management issues faced in SMEs and steps to control food waste in restaurants. All the collected data are compared and analysed under a statistical result and these results are discussed on the basis of the current waste management practices of the business. The key findings recommend a possible method to control waste and implementing new software to monitor the waste. Further research will carry over under the same stream by influencing engineering methods and machines, which will be a positive deliverable for a sustainable environment and society

Because impervious surfaces affect stormwater runoff peak flows and volumes significantly, it is critical to understand the Town’s impervious area characteristics (and the resulting stormwater management implications) under current conditions in order to develop appropriate stormwater management policies

    UKIRT under new management: status and plans

    The United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) observatory has been transferred to the ownership of the University of Hawaii (UH) and is now being managed by UH. We have established partnerships with several organizations to utilize the UKIRT for science projects and to support its operation. Our main partners are the U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO), the East Asian Observatory (EAO), and the UKIRT microlensing team (JPL/IPAC/OSU/Vanderbilt). The USNO is working on deep northern hemisphere surveys in the H and K bands and the UKIRT microlensing team is running a monitoring campaign of the Galactic bulge. EAO, UH, and USNO have individual P.I. research programs. Most of the observations are using the Wide Field Camera (WFCAM), but the older suite of cassegrain instruments are still fully operational. Data processing and archiving continue to be done CASU and WSA in the UK. We are working on a concept to upgrade the WFCAM with new larger infrared detector arrays for substantially improved survey efficiency

    Antecedents and outcomes of brand management from the perspective of resource based view (RBV) theory

    Brand management requires greater emphasis on internal factors to increase brand performance. A model of antecedents and outcomes of brand management is developed in this study based on the Resource Based View (RBV) Theory. Top management emphasis on brand, corporate supportive resources and market orientation are identified as crucial internal factors or antecedents for success of brand management. Apart from that, the brand management measurement are expanded in this study with the introduction of three new marketing constructs namely marketing capabilities, innovation and brand orientation as new dimensions in brand management which currently comprised of management related constructs. This study also contributes in the brand management of small and medium enterprise (SMEs) literature as previous studies mainly focused on the brand management for multinational companies or large organizations. One important issue of SMEs is the “internal” brand management which is currently under-researched even though it is critical in brand building and management. Therefore, this research aims to highlight the antecedents and outcomes of brand management in Malaysians’ SMEs based on RBV theory. A comprehensive literature review was done and a conceptual model is proposed in this literature review
