    Negation and Dichotomy

    Get PDF
The present contribution might be regarded as a kind of defense of the common sense in logic. It is demonstrated that if the classical negation is interpreted as the minimal negation with n = 2 truth values, then deviant logics can be conceived as extension of the classical bivalent frame. Such classical apprehension of negation is possible in non- classical logics as well, if truth value is internalized and bivalence is replaced by bipartition

The present book contains the 24 total articles accepted and published in the Special Issue “Fuzzy Sets, Fuzzy Logic and Their Applications, 2020” of the MDPI Mathematics journal, which covers a wide range of topics connected to the theory and applications of fuzzy sets and systems of fuzzy logic and their extensions/generalizations. These topics include, among others, elements from fuzzy graphs; fuzzy numbers; fuzzy equations; fuzzy linear spaces; intuitionistic fuzzy sets; soft sets; type-2 fuzzy sets, bipolar fuzzy sets, plithogenic sets, fuzzy decision making, fuzzy governance, fuzzy models in mathematics of finance, a philosophical treatise on the connection of the scientific reasoning with fuzzy logic, etc. It is hoped that the book will be interesting and useful for those working in the area of fuzzy sets, fuzzy systems and fuzzy logic, as well as for those with the proper mathematical background and willing to become familiar with recent advances in fuzzy mathematics, which has become prevalent in almost all sectors of the human life and activity

Goal programming approaches to deriving interval fuzzy preference relations

    Get PDF
This article investigates the consistency of interval fuzzy preference relations based on interval arithmetic, and new definitions are introduced for additive consistent, multiplicative consistent and weakly transitive interval fuzzy preference relations. Transformation functions are put forward to convert normalized interval weights into consistent interval fuzzy preference relations. By analyzing the relationship between interval weights and consistent interval fuzzy preference relations, goal-programming-based models are developed for deriving interval weights from interval fuzzy preference relations for both individual and group decision-making situations. The proposed models are illustrated by a numerical example and an international exchange doctoral student selection problem

A Novel Method of Linguistic Topsis for DMSS Technique

    Get PDF
This paper extends the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) for solving multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems under trapezoidal fuzzy linguistic variables. In situations where the information or the data is of the form of trapezoidal fuzzy linguistic numbers (TFLNs), some arithmetic aggregation operators have to be defined, namely the Trapezoid Fuzzy Linguistic Weighted Harmonic Averaging (TFLWHA)operator, Trapezoid Fuzzy Linguistic Ordered Weighted Harmonic Averaging (TFLOWHA) operator and Trapezoid Fuzzy Linguistic Hybrid Harmonic Averaging(TFLHHA) operator. A new method for determining decision maker?s weights is also proposed in the paper, which is used to determine the best alternative. An extended TOPSIS model is developed to solve the MAGDM problems using a new algorithm and an illustration is given

Investigation on soft computing techniques for airport environment evaluation systems

    Get PDF
Spatial and temporal information exist widely in engineering fields, especially in airport environmental management systems. Airport environment is influenced by many different factors and uncertainty is a significant part of the system. Decision support considering this kind of spatial and temporal information and uncertainty is crucial for airport environment related engineering planning and operation. Geographical information systems and computer aided design are two powerful tools in supporting spatial and temporal information systems. However, the present geographical information systems and computer aided design software are still too general in considering the special features in airport environment, especially for uncertainty. In this thesis, a series of parameters and methods for neural network-based knowledge discovery and training improvement are put forward, such as the relative strength of effect, dynamic state space search strategy and compound architecture. 3-tuple BĂ©zier surface interpolation model for data visualization

    Get PDF
In this paper, the 3-tuple BĂ©zier surface interpolation model is introduced. The 3-tuple control net relation is defined through intuitionistic fuzzy concept. Later, the control net is blended with Bernstein basis function to obtain surface blending function and to produce 3-tuple BĂ©zier surface. The 3-tuple BĂ©zier surface model is illustrated through the interpolation method by using data point with intuitionistic features. Some numerical example is shown. Lastly, the 3-tuple BĂ©zier surface properties is also discussed
