    An Integrative Model for Lean Six Sigma Implementation in Logistics Services Environments

    Lean Six Sigma (LSS) constitutes a successful initiative for organizational improvement. Despite this success, literature does not include an integrative model for its organizational and practical implementation in logistics services environments. This paper fills this gap and proposes such an overall framework. At the present, logistics services play a fundamental role in supply chain management and organizational competiveness context. For these purposes, the paper carries out a literature review of peer reviewed journals related to LSS implementation and the logistics services context, which culminates in a proposed integrative model. Furthermore, associated with this model, a set of theoretical propositions are included. Finally, the paper discusses implications and lines for further research

    A framework for customer relationship management strategy orientation support in higher education institutions

    A number of generic Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementation frameworks have been developed, yet no systematic framework has been developed to help HEIs orientate CRM strategy to align with university business strategies and stakeholder needs. This research iteratively develops the CRM Strategy Orientation Support (CRM-SOS) framework, which aims to support HEIs in orientating their strategic CRM system at the pre-implementation stage and align CRM strategy with the business strategy; thus, reducing the chance that HEIs will experience CRM implementation failure. To reach our proposed CRM-SOS framework, we employed Design Science Research (DSR) methodology steps by analysing UK HEIs specific CRM implementation case studies, conducting semi-structured HEIs-based interviews, followed by evaluation of the resulted framework by HEI Information Systems (IS) experts. We concluded with a new CRM-SOS framework for HEIs consisting of five stages. The framework can be used to personalise the stages until they fit the strategic outputs and match the top management KPIs. Although existing research agrees that intensive attention should be given to CRM planning, there is no consensus or developed framework, for use within HEIs, demonstrating how CRM strategy can be orientated to align with university strategies and customer needs

We provide a structured literature review, with a primary but not exclusive focus on value ideas relating to lean in complex system product development. A framework organizes the concepts, methods, and their relationships. It clarifies the value delivery mechanism and could help to understand and thus improve value systems.     Towards a CRM and SCM Benefits Measurement Model

    Organizations invest heavily in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems, and their related infrastructure, presumably expecting positive benefits to the organization. Assessing the benefits of such systems is an important aspect of managing such systems. Given the substantial differences between CRM and SCM systems with traditional intra-organizational applications, existing Information Systems benefits measurement models and frameworks are ill-suited to gauge CRM and SCM benefits. This paper reports the preliminary findings of a research that seeks to develop a measurement model to assess benefits of CRM and SCM applications. The a-priori benefits measurement model is developed reviewing the 55 academic studies and 40 practitioner papers. The review of related literature yielded 606 benefits, which were later synthesized into 74 mutually exclusive benefit measures of CRM and SCM applications arranged under five dimensions

    Lean-excellence business management for manufacturing SMEs focusing on KRI

    Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop an effective framework for implementing Lean strategies in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Design/methodology/approach Based on the integration of LM tools and techniques with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) criteria a systematic Lean implementation framework for manufacturing SMEs has been proposed. The core values, drivers and tools of the proposed framework were further developed based on case studies in three SMEs in the KRI. Findings Proposed framework is able to provide a simple pathway for SMEs to systematically implement Lean techniques in seven functional areas in order to create Lean culture in the organisation. Business performance measurement in terms of profitability, customer satisfaction, employee’s satisfaction, competitiveness growth and ergonomic improvement is presented in favour of evaluating Lean outcomes appropriately. It also presents the experience of small firms in implementing Lean programmes to show that Lean is valid in SMEs. Research limitations/implications The framework concentrates only on the internal issues of the organisation, while external variables such as national culture and external support are excluded. Practical implications The framework assists improvements in SMEs that either initially attempt to start Lean journey or those that are at more advanced levels towards excellent-Lean manufacturing. The framework can also be used as a self-assessment model to determine the degree of Lean readiness. Originality/value To the best knowledge of the author, it is the first framework that integrates Lean techniques with MBNQA criteria to support Lean implementation in SMEs. Such a hostile environment results from both the natural evolution of the business landscape complexity and the emergence of unpredictable disruptive evets such as the COVID-19 pandemic. More than ever, organizations should continuously develop business strategies that help them to become more agile, adaptative, sustainable, and effectively respond to the countless business risks (threats and opportunities). Innovation, such as the development and implementation of new technology, new ways of thinking and executing work, are just some of the major factors that can help organizations to increase their likelihood of success. In this work, is proposed the incorporation of a heuristic risk model into a typical organizational business intelligence architecture, to identify collaborative critical success factors across the different phases of a project life cycle which can be used to guide, monitor, and increase the success outcome likelihood of ongoing and upcoming projects. Some benefits of the incorporation include: a higher speed regarding the collection and treatment process of project collaborative data, the output of more accurate results with residual bias associated, a timely and efficient 360◦ view regarding the identification of project collaborative risks, and the impact (positive or/and negative) of these on a project’s outputs and outcomes. Finally, the model capabilities of performing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis, enables the generation of unique and actionable project’s lessons learned which can be used to make more data-informed decisions, and thus enhances the achievement of sustainable competitive advantages.     This paper compares concepts of maturity models in the areas of Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Systems Usage. We investigate whether these concepts correlate, overlap and explain each other. The two maturity models are applied in a case study. We conclude that although it is possible to fully relate constructs from both kinds of models, having a mature architecture function in a company does not imply a high Enterprise Systems Usage maturity
