A Review: Design of Smart Home Electrical Management System Based on IoT
—This paper will explain the benefits and
optimal use of smart home energy management
systems viewed in various aspects. The background of
this paper is many problems in Indonesia regarding
the consumption of electricity and the depletion of
natural resources. Although the government has
applied for an energy-saving program, the
implementation program is still not optimal and has
not been able to overcome the existing problems. In
this paper, the idea of applying the SHEMS (Smart
Home Electrical Management System) will be divided
into three parts including IoT control, manual /
automation control, and monitoring of real-time
electrical energy. This research will also analyze the
effectiveness of SHEMS in controlling energy use from
several sources of journal literature. There are several
points related to journal analysis including the
effectiveness of the existing method, multi-objective
scheduling, SHEMS design implementation and
comparison of the results of After and before using
SHEMS. From the results of the journal literature
analysis, it is expected to help find the right SHEMS
design method for each different case and suggests a
framework for future systems
Resonant Behaviour of Pulse Generators for the Efficient Drive of Optical Radiation Sources Based on Dielectric Barrier Discharges
Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) excimer lamps emit vacuum-UV optical radiation. This work presents novel methods for efficiently operating DBDs with short, high-voltage pulses. Transformer-less systems utilising SiC power semiconductor switches are presented. Pulse frequencies of up to 3.1 MHz and peak inverter efficiencies of 92 % were achieved. The work encloses both mathematical backgrounds of pulsed resonant circuits and practical implementation of low-inductive power stages
Intelligent Circuits and Systems
ICICS-2020 is the third conference initiated by the School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Lovely Professional University that explored recent innovations of researchers working for the development of smart and green technologies in the fields of Energy, Electronics, Communications, Computers, and Control. ICICS provides innovators to identify new opportunities for the social and economic benefits of society. This conference bridges the gap between academics and R&D institutions, social visionaries, and experts from all strata of society to present their ongoing research activities and foster research relations between them. It provides opportunities for the exchange of new ideas, applications, and experiences in the field of smart technologies and finding global partners for future collaboration. The ICICS-2020 was conducted in two broad categories, Intelligent Circuits & Intelligent Systems and Emerging Technologies in Electrical Engineering

High renewable energy penetration hybrid power system for rural and desert areas
This thesis proposes innovative ways of designing and controlling a small to medium size islanded or utility grid connected power system consisting of diesel generators, renewable energy sources and battery energy storages such that both fossil fuel usage and size of expensive battery bank can be minimized and the level of penetration of renewable energy can be raised to unprecedented levels. Computer software simulations and experimental results verify the proposed design and control strategies
Resonant Behaviour of Pulse Generators for the Efficient Drive of Optical Radiation Sources Based on Dielectric Barrier Discharges

Transformerless single phase inverter design for LCD television
A LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) has the CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) for backlight illumination. The CCFL is fed at high voltage and high frequency voltage by an inverter in the LCD TVs. The backlight unit consumes almost %40 of input power. The inverter with step-up transformer for this unit is commonly supplied from the switch mode power supply. In this work, a parallel resonance inverter without a step-up transformer is used to eliminate the tran, former power loss. The circuit is analyzed in PSPICE package program and the results are compared with implementation
