. The biggest challenge in Global Software Development (GSD) is the efficiency of time to develop. GSD provides a guidance to use the process along with up-front analysis method like unified process or waterfall method. Although, it gives a benefit through comprehensive documentation and its clearness, it gives inhibits the organization which wants use GSD but in a rush. Agile methods claim an efficient and the effective approach to software development. This paper reports on how organizations combine the GSD process with agile methods like eXtreme Programming (XP), Scrum, Agile Unified Process (Agile UP), Feature Driven Development (FDD), and Microsoft Solution Framework Agile (MSF Agile). The paper uses case study to get organization experiences and describe useful practices for the organization that want to implement GSD with an agile method.

The H2020 AtlantOS project aims to optimize and enhance the Integrated Atlantic Ocean Observing System. One goal is to ensure that data from different and diverse in-situ observing Networks are readily accessible and useable to a wider community, including the international ocean science community and other stakeholders in this field. To achieve that, the strategy is to move towards an integrated data system within AtlantOS that harmonizes work flows, data processing and distribution across in-situ observing network systems, and integrates in-situ observations into existing European and international data infrastructures, termed Integrators (e.g. Copernicus INS TAC, SeaDataNet NODCs, EMODnet, EurOBIS, GEOSS). This handbook aims to help the Networks to implement recommendations agreed upon within AtlantOS WP7 to achieve a better integration of their data, and to provide best practices guidelines for both Networks and Integrators for enhanced services to users. First it presents the roadmap for the AtlantOS integrated system and its actors, both Networks and Integrators. Then the elements of (1) standardization across the Networks relying on existing European and international standards and protocols, and of (2) of the data exchange backbone of the AtlantOS system, are described with the guidelines on how to set them up. Finally this handbook describes ways to facilitate data discovery at the Network level and enhancements at the Integrator level for better fit-for-purpose services to user

Recovering from a Decade: A Systematic Mapping of Information Retrieval Approaches to Software Traceability

Engineers in large-scale software development have to manage large amounts of information, spread across many artifacts. Several researchers have proposed expressing retrieval of trace links among artifacts, i.e. trace recovery, as an Information Retrieval (IR) problem. The objective of this study is to produce a map of work on IR-based trace recovery, with a particular focus on previous evaluations and strength of evidence. We conducted a systematic mapping of IR-based trace recovery. Of the 79 publications classified, a majority applied algebraic IR models. While a set of studies on students indicate that IR-based trace recovery tools support certain work tasks, most previous studies do not go beyond reporting precision and recall of candidate trace links from evaluations using datasets containing less than 500 artifacts. Our review identified a need of industrial case studies. Furthermore, we conclude that the overall quality of reporting should be improved regarding both context and tool details, measures reported, and use of IR terminology. Finally, based on our empirical findings, we present suggestions on how to advance research on IR-based trace recovery
