    Digital Pedagogy Policy in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Malaysia: Fuzzy Delphi Approach

    Digital platforms are one of the technology adoption that is beginning to be used in most vocational colleges today. Services provided through digital platforms are an alternative to conventional methods. However, the use of digital platforms nowadays, among users consisting of vocational college students in Malaysia is still at a less than satisfactory level. Previous studies also focused a lot on the use and acceptance of technology platforms among users in schools only but not in vocational colleges (VC). The aim of the research is to determine the experts’ consensus on the objective of the digital pedagogy policy for Technical Education and Vocational Training (TVET) students especially in vocational colleges which is currently under development. Vocational colleges is one of the Technical Education and Vocational Training (TVET) institutions in Malaysia that offers certificate level and skill diploma education to high school students. Therefore, it is important to identify the policy that will be used. The Fuzzy Delphi Technique (FDT) was used in this research. Ten experts were chosen by utilizing the purposive sampling method. Analysis of the data was using the Triangular Fuzzy Number and Defuzzification process. The findings showed 100% consensus was achieved by the experts for objectives 1 and 3, and 90% consensus was achieved by the experts for objective 2. All of the experts agreed on the elements in the objectives of the digital pedagogy policy for TVET students. Further development of this policy hopefully will help the teachers in improving their knowledge of digital pedagogy and increase their competency pedagogy in order to produce skills oriented workforce among TVET students in Malaysia. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to be used to strengthen the development of e-learning models in the future to help students and educators to use digital platforms in vocational colleges in particular

    In this paper, we present a generalization of a new systemic approach to abstract fuzzy systems. Using a fuzzy relations structure will retain the information provided by degrees of membership. In addition, to better suit the situation to be modelled, it is advisable to use T-norm or T-conorm distinct from the minimum and maximum, respectively. This gain in generality is due to the completeness of the work on a higher level of abstraction. You cannot always reproduce the results obtained previously, and also sometimes different definitions with different views are obtained.     A multi-criteria fuzzy method for selecting the location of a solid waste disposal facility

    Facility location is a multicriteria decision process that has important operational and economic impacts and that typically involves uncertainty and vagueness of evaluations. A fuzzy-based method supporting preliminary decision-making about siting solid waste incinerators is proposed building on a structured classification of criteria for location selection developed from the existing literature. The application to a case study revealed the advantages of the methodology. The work intends to provide a general and comprehensive taxonomy of decision criteria that may be adapted to various facility location problems together with a fuzzy inference process that is useful for companies and public administration institutions looking for rigorous but relatively simple decision-making tools in uncertain environments.     Methods in Industrial Biotechnology for Chemical Engineers

    In keeping with the definition that biotechnology is really no more than a name given to a set of techniques and processes, the authors apply some set of fuzzy techniques to chemical industry problems such as finding the proper proportion of raw mix to control pollution, to study flow rates, to find out the better quality of products. We use fuzzy control theory, fuzzy neural networks, fuzzy relational equations, genetic algorithms to these problems for solutions. When the solution to the problem can have certain concepts or attributes as indeterminate, the only model that can tackle such a situation is the neutrosophic model. The authors have also used these models in this book to study the use of biotechnology in chemical industries. This book has six chapters. First chapter gives a brief description of biotechnology. Second chapter deals will proper proportion of mix of raw materials in cement industries to minimize pollution using fuzzy control theory. Chapter three gives the method of determination of temperature set point for crude oil in oil refineries. Chapter four studies the flow rates in chemical industries using fuzzy neutral networks. Chapter five gives the method of minimization of waste gas flow in chemical industries using fuzzy linear programming.     Concept learning consistency under three‑way decision paradigm

    Concept Mining is one of the main challenges both in Cognitive Computing and in Machine Learning. The ongoing improvement of solutions to address this issue raises the need to analyze whether the consistency of the learning process is preserved. This paper addresses a particular problem, namely, how the concept mining capability changes under the reconsideration of the hypothesis class. The issue will be raised from the point of view of the so-called Three-Way Decision (3WD) paradigm. The paradigm provides a sound framework to reconsider decision-making processes, including those assisted by Machine Learning. Thus, the paper aims to analyze the influence of 3WD techniques in the Concept Learning Process itself. For this purpose, we introduce new versions of the Vapnik-Chervonenkis dimension. The advances in networking capabilities have created the conditions of complexity by enabling richer, real-time interactions between and among individuals, objects, systems and organizations. Fusion of Information and Analytics Technologies (FIAT) are key enablers for the design of current and future decision support systems to support prognosis, diagnosis, and prescriptive tasks in such complex environments. Hundreds of methods and technologies exist, and several books have been dedicated to either analytics or information fusion so far. However, very few have discussed the methodological aspects and the need of integrating frameworks for these techniques coming from multiple disciplines. This paper presents a discussion of potential integrating frameworks as well as the development of a computational model to evolve FIAT-based systems capable of meeting the challenges of complex environments such as in Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT)

This study is a preliminary and an explorative effort to establish an Accident Prediction Model (APM) for road safety in İzmir urban environment. Aim of the dissertation is to prevent or decrease the amount of possible future traffic accidents in İzmir metropolitan region, by the help of the developed APM. Urban traffic accidents have spatial and other external reasons independent from the vehicles or drivers, and these reasons can be predicted by mathematical models. The study deals with the factors of the traffic accidents, which are not based on the human behavior or vehicle characteristics. Therefore the prediction model is established through the following external factors, such as traffic volume, rain status and the geometry of the roads. Fuzzy Logic Modeling (FLM) is applied as a prediction tool in the study. Familiarizing fuzzy logic approach to the planning discipline is the secondary aim of the thesis and contribution to the literature. The conformity of fuzzy logic enables modeling through verbal data and intuitive approach, which is important to achieve uncertainties of planning issues
